We grow them here in the Philippines and call them balayong or Palawan cherry blossom. But our variety is the tall one. Your tree flowers more vibrant than the ones in here. You've got a very beautiful tree sir. 👍👍
Thank you for commenting! I love knowing the name you have for this tree- Balayong/ Palawan cherry blossom! How cool. We learn from each other! Cheers😀🪴
LOVE LOVE LOVE Cassia bakeriana! I’m looking to install one in my front yard. I’m curious about their storm/wind tolerance though. And I haven’t seen many with a strong central leader.
You are right. They have a funky growth sometimes with a central leader, sometimes not. Wind tolerance is tricky; big storms- cat4 may wipe them out, lower cats storms branches will strip. With that said, They are so beautiful I Would plant anyways, they are just so pretty ! 😀🪴
Hi there, you can source it at Muni Farms, Botanics Wholesale, or Natures Touch. All nurseries are located in Homestead and carry 45 gal trees. But they are wholesale so you may need a landscape contractor to buy them for you.😀🪴
Hi there. Yes. Trimming will help create a more full tree. Be strategic, look for branches that will flush out without affecting other baranches of your tree. You can also trim just a few branches at first to she how she sends out new branching then prune again some different branches as those new grow out; that will help create a great full look for you. 😀 🪴
Hi there, I'm sorry this tree is sub tropical and i'm afraid your cold winters will harm her. She needs zones 10, and y'all I believe, are in zone 8b. Maybe you could consider eastern redbud tree as a sub? They have specatular flowers too. 😀🪴
Hi there, I do not have experience on growing this plant from seed. I'm sorry I can't help you. But I did find an article on seed prop that might help you, here is link: www.growplants.org/growing/cassia-javanica 😀🪴
I just germinated some seeds I bought online. I simply soaked them in water for 24 hrs and planted in some good germination mix and within a few days they all germinated😊
I plant 300 this kind of tree. (42 months old now). Yet the flower is less with many leaves. It’s not beautiful as yours, sir! Can you tell me how to do?
Beautiful flowers 🌸
Thank you!😀🪴

Mine bolted and had very long empty trunk. Can I make it more full by trimming it back?

Will this survive on the gulf coast? From Pensacola to the Mobile area?

@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN Yeah. I already thought of that. Therefore, I'm attempting the Australian Jacaranda.
How do the leaf looks like and differs from it's distant relative cassia javanica?
Hi!, they will look similar with approx 2" bipinnate leaves😀🪴
