My dad had all his records, and played his music. Dad bought a 1955 Martin D-28 that he gave to me on my 16th birthday in 1971. Unfortunately, the guitar didn't make the journey with me. It was smashed by Eastern Airlines in a baggage compartment. Even though I was 19 years old, and in the Navy then, I cried like a baby. I was sick. Anyway, dad and me, and then my brother would play his music at get-togethers. Dad eventually bought a D-35, a D-35-12 string, and then the ultimate D-45 that's still in the family.

In 1968, I ran a light show for Mr. Snow when he played at our high school. I was very fortunate to meet him. He was an absolute gentleman.

Way down in little old New Zealand back in the 50's, my father played Hank Snow records all the time. I grew up loving his music. I'm 73 now and nothing has changed.....Rest in Peace Hank.

In1960, I was an English man, working in an Auto trim shop in Toronto with two guys from Nova Scotia. They had a cassette of Hank Snow, that they played at least two times every day. An introduction to country music, which I’m so thankful for.

I AM AN ULTA ARTIST IN MANY WAYS AND RESPECT WHAT IS TRULY GOOD. HANK SNOW
WAS ONE OF MY VERY, VERY FAVOURITE SINGERS. HIS VOICE RESONATED THE TRUE
FEELINGS OF HIS SOUL. HIS VOICE WAS SO UNIQUE, SO BEAUTIFUL. HE WILL ALWAYS BE
ONE OF, IF NOT THE MOST PLEASING VOICE IN SONG . I DON'T EVEN HAVE TO HEAR HIS
NAME.....IT'S HIS UNIQUE SINGING VOICE THAT I HEAR. NO ONE YET EVER HAD A
    SINGING VOICE LIKE HAND SNOW.

When I was a young guy, the guys my Dad's age would say when someone kind of left suddenly, "He pulled a Hank Snow. " I remember asking my Dad about that and it was because of the song " I'm moving on". I thought that was so cool.

What a great video detailing Hank's life. And the TV News tributes at his passing. I have the book and what an interesting read for any Hank Snow fans. Not mentioned in the book is that Hank lived with my ex's family in New Brunswick when he got the job playing 1/2 hour daily for 2 years on CKNB in Campbleton. The story goes that uncles John & Charlie McGarvie introduced Hank to station manager Stan Chapman. Two year old Jimmie lived in Liverpool at the time. I have a photo of Hank with John & Charlie outside their house. A treasured possession of mine.

Been a big Hank Snow fan since I first heard him on a transistor radio singing "The Face on the Barroom Floor" about 1968. He's my favorite story teller, and he had a bunch of great story telling songs. I didn't know he ran away at 12 and worked on a fishing boat, and that makes me appreciate his music even more, he's got some serious cred!

I listen to all kinds of music. Hank Snow was true art. Like all good lyricists (Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits etc), he paints a mental picture in your mind with his lyrics.

Just saw the Elvis movie. It was good but he was portrayed poorly by a director who clearly didn't have a decent knowledge for the music of Elviss time. Snow was an energetic performer and a ground breaker in country music. Not some throw away hokey carnival act.

Great life story and he did not want to be a victim how nice that sounds, now everyone claims to be a victim and proud of it even rich and famous people claim victim hood and they use it to do anything and get by with it.
