A little confused how Ashlen was able to voidslime at 10:03, but I'm assuming that instead of playing a wastes she decided to play an island. This would be useful to know because she definitely did play that wastes. We did see that there is an island, but just would've been useful to know that she exchanged the wastes for an island
@@derf909 Yes, but the thing is if you go back to 8:48 she had to tap all her lands to cast the thran dynamo, and the she tapped the thran dynamo to cast the simic signet. So, if she untapped her island, that was tapped to play thran dynamo, and tapped the wastes that she played after playing thran dynamo, that's technically an illegal move because the wastes came in after the island was tapped. Why is Parallel Lives in Jimmy's deck? It doesn't interact with Volo. The creature spell copy doesn't create a token, it instead enters the battlefield itself as a token, which isn't the same as creating a token, which is what token doublers would care about.
I was actually rooting for Jimmy. I run a Simic Clone deck myself and his deck resonated with me a bit. A word of advice for Jimmy, he needs to put Reminisce, Clear The Mind, Learn From The Past, and Elixir Of Immortality in his deck to prevent self-mill like that. A Gaea's Blessing would go a long way to stop external mill. Also, a Daring Apprentice or other such creature to clone the crap out of so you can have counterspells on sticks, as it were. Good game, though. I really enjoyed it.
According to what the audience can see, Ashlen's voidslime was not a legal cast. Ashlen only had 1 colorless, 1 green, and 1 blue, after tapping her wastes to tap simic signet, and sacrificing her scion.
Yes, it actually was a legal cast. She had one island untapped, sacrificed the scion to get one colorless. She used the colorless to filter into Simic signet, which gives her one green and one blue, giving her a total of two blue and one green, which is the cost of Voidslime.

A little confused how Ashlen was able to voidslime at 10:03, but I'm assuming that instead of playing a wastes she decided to play an island. This would be useful to know because she definitely did play that wastes. We did see that there is an island, but just would've been useful to know that she exchanged the wastes for an island
the waste is seen tapped so it looks like the ol' casual land swap, done off camera
Edit: It does look like she did this, so I think that jake should've been able to activate Sisay and Ashlen did something that she shouldn't have been able to do.
@@solorider66 she played a waste but must have taken it back. And played a forest instead. It was just edited out.
@@solorider66 The swap in seen on Jimmy's turn so she must have done in on her end step or something before it actually made a difference to the game, completely fine in a casual format. Different case if she had actually made the swap during Jake's turn
@@hallowblade6953 I don't think we're seeing the same things. Go to 8:48 and look at her tapped lands. There's a forest and 3 islands. These lands were tapped to play the thran dynamo. After the thran dynamo and the simic signet were played, she played the wastes. If you then go to when she countered the 2nd edit: activated (not triggered) ability, she had the exact same lands, but an island was untapped and the wastes was tapped. This means she just basically got a free island for a colorless mana because she tapped the island before the wastes was in play.
Edit: There was no taking a land back for turn because her land for turn was the wastes. So, she just exchanged a blue mana for a colorless mana. There was no misplay. She just did it.
No offense to the other commander channels but game knights and extra turns is still the absolute best and most entertaining to watch. The production value and work you all put into the show is incredible!
What a game! I love how quickly it got chaotic
Well that victory was so unexpected
I love the Morophon and Jodah combo. I added the exact same one into my Tiamat deck a few days ago. Haven't gotten to test it out yet, but the results have proven to be effective!
I prefer Fist of Suns, because of Infinity Gaunlet
@@Asderios Fair enough, but Fist of Suns is around 15 dollars (the prices on cards are different in Canada, so idk if that's true in the U.S.), and I got Jodah for 3.
Love watching these guys play super competitive decks once in a while
Love seeing Zara get some love! Currently working on a polymorph list with my opponent's creatures as the fodder.
Love that idea! I've got Protean Staff in the deck and it's fantastic!
@@JordanPridgen ah, a man of culture I see
Things like Scute Swarm are the reason Deathbringer Regent has become one of my favorite cards in the game, makes life a lot easier when people have to start using dice to keep track of their tokens.
Jimmy: “This was a fun one.”
Turn 3 Vorlo
Turn 4 Double Sphinx
Yeah, that’s why it was fun. Lol
"oh no, ive flown too close to the sun" slayed me. Oh jimmy 😂
Why is Parallel Lives in Jimmy's deck? It doesn't interact with Volo. The creature spell copy doesn't create a token, it instead enters the battlefield itself as a token, which isn't the same as creating a token, which is what token doublers would care about.
Scute Swarm and likely had other Token makers in the deck.
He might run Hornet Queen and other token makers, that will make a ton of tokens
Good point bro
I now see that he has other cards that create tokens, which makes sense 😁
How cards live volo or lithoform enging work is that copies become tokens so it does actually interact with volo (i’m 99% sure)
Really cool seeing Jake take the W. All the decks were so cool to watch! Great episode
Love the commanders in this episode, and love extra turns in general. Keep up the great work guys!
Wow I have decks with 3 outta 4 of these Commanders. Excited to see your different brews.
Which deck don’t you have?

That's what I call a REAL Finale of Devastation ;) ;) ;) (not even spoiling the ending)
This episode is just haymaker after haymaker. Fantastic stuff!!! Loved the episode.
man look at that 24:40 jimmy discarding a sylvan library when he could draw up to 3 card in the draw step
this is the most entertaining channel on youtube hahaha i love these commander fights. ty Jimmy and Josh and Ashlynn
So much fun to watch. Jimmy's deck was going off hot and then some! Jake's 2 card combo to cast Eldrazi for free was a Timmy's dream come true!
No she did not have an island untapped. That was a wastes untapped.
“I’m Jordan Pridgen, and today, I don’t have a plan.” -Quote of the episode
jake at 17:03 "how did we let this happen? at what point did we go wrong?" MATE IT WAS YOU AND YOUR PRAMIKON STOPPING IT THAT BETRAYS FROM ATTACKING THE PROBLEM PLAYER
Nah, It That Betrays should have returned to Jake's hand at the end of Ashlen's turn. That misplay recoloured the entire game.
ETA: This is false. Jordan activated Sundial not during MP2, but rather in response to ITB's trigger.
@@ceulgai2817 Zara states that it only returns to hand at the beginning of the NEXT end step, so no, that's not how that works. Once it checks at Jordan's end step, it never checks again because the next end step has already happened.
@@dasdrifter12 Oh shit, it's taken me three months to hear Jordan announce that he's activating Sundial *in response* to the ITB trigger, rather than during MP2. Thank you, Internet stranger!
One of the best episodes so far. Jakes bling was impressive 🤩
9:57 doesn't Ashlyn not have the mana to cast voidslime? She sacs a scion and uses that 1 mana to pay for simic signet, leaving her with UG in her mana pool. Am I missing something?
That’s what I saw too so I don’t know how she played a three mana spell for two mana
She payed the signet with it.
@@LeKrutes The signet costs 1 to activate, and provides 2 mana when activated. She had 1 eldrazi scion (which provides 1 mana when sacrificed. That's 3 mana total (in the colors 1UG, which can't even pay for voidslime), but she used 1 to activate the signet.
I thought the same but it looks like an editing error. If you look at 9:26, she also has an untapped island during Jimmy's turn. She must have tapped it off screen but she did have the mana for Voidslime.
She magically had her wastes transformed into an island and then the island magically transformed into wastes again
Thanks for making me feel like I don't pay for UA-cam premium with your in video ads, 'preciate it
That was WILD. This makes me so hungry for more in person commander.
Poor Jordan still could've attacked with Zara at Ashlen when Pramikon came out. The deal was only for the ITB!
Jimmy flew too close to the Blue Sun 😂😂
Ya beat me to it…🤣🤣
Jake read the situation well but I would have probably tried to hold off on replaying Pramikon asking that the other two opponents both attack jimmy and cut his board state down some.
I don't think he was loving his annihilation coming back at him lol
Jimmy drew his whole deck. Jordan draws 2 from Mulldrifter. Jimmy: "wow!" 😁
Men I love extra turns, it’s just a refreshing quick game after or before the main dish, game knights 0w0
Adrix and Nev don't work with Volo's trigger. It worked with the Scutes but seems like a nombo in most situations.
He might run Hornet Queen and other token makers, that will make a ton of tokens
All of his various copy token effects are probably why it's in the deck, copied tokens can be doubled
Pretty sure it was an ETB token deck with stuff like Avenger of Zendikar and Hornet Queen so although it doesn't synergize with Volo it does when they etb a 2nd time.
Sure. Card works with a bunch of token makers but doesn't work with the commander. That is my point. Not right or wrong. Just Adrix does not work with Volos in case anybody sees this list.
@@commanderpower99 i think it work, coz in the wording of volo it say (copy of a creature spell became a token ) Adriz and Nev say if one or more toekns would be created under your control, twice that many of those token are created instead .
One of the most explosive games on the channel! Jam packed value all the way
This is what happens when you fly to close to the Blue Sun's Zenith Jimmy. 😂
There's no way this man deadass discarded counterspells with his current board state. There is no fucking way. What could you possibly think is more important than protecting a board that wins next turn.
Literally this. Makes it seem like he did it on purpose. Idk? Doesn’t make sense to me at all.
Like there’s literally nothing else he needed on his board, so there’s ZERO cards that should be prioritized over counters.
Would love to see the bridge as the commander and see where someone goes with that.
I actually use it as the commander for my god deck, it works wonders
One neat thing about the bridge is that if you're willing to commit to any single creature or planeswalker in the deck, you can make anything your commander! And there's a bunch of interesting other things I've seen done with it as well.

One of the cutest "thank you" i've ever heard
Normally I root for the mono-red king Jimmy Wong. But as a guy named Jake with an Eldrazi Jodah deck, I gotta root for Jake on this one since this is just like vicariously being on an episode for me.
Always love when Ashlen is on as she brings my favourite eldrazi :)
At roughly 29 minutes in did Ashlen really "tap 6 mana" for Spitting Image that was actually like 5 mana sources AND the Thran Dynamo? That was, like, 8 mana. She could have tapped Thran Dynamo and only 3 other sources.
Maybe she was trying to make up for 9:56 when she cheated by magically transforming her Wastes into an Island so she could cast Voidslime?
Damn Jake's deck has to be my favorite 5 color deck by far holy crap.
10:50 Jake you gotta sac a land and kill the token Sphinx!
"And now we're all ready to.....and you all decayed. Maybe tomorrow night, I'll text you"

Jimmy "what is haste?" Wong strikes again! Honest question: How many times has Jimmy had everyone dead on board for the next turn and actually succeeded, versus getting killed or neutered before his next turn?
Hmm, as far as I have counted? Always, perpectually.
Man, we rarely got to see an explosive game like this! Very good engines, veery good plot twist with eldrazi horde, and very damn good game!
O Jimmy why would you not keep more counterspells when you’re that far ahead with such a small library.
My thoughts exactly. He didn't play particularly well.
Bingo, you should always have 2 in hand if you can if you are ahead. To counter others counters
