Haha this comment made my day, exactly that high priced cars just bring trouble and cost, where as this video would of been much better with an old BMW and a couple of rusty old French cars (reference Ronin)😂
You are most likely twenty something right? Replicas already existed for these two cars in the late 80s early 90s. These replicas were made either from a Pontiac Fiero or a VW Beetle's chassis.
@@danbrittain9530 Good point, but the production run of the Countach was so long it just hit me the F40 was a much much rarer bird. But, it would be just as devastating to see the Lambo trashed as well.😎
@@a.person7825actually not that much rarer. 1350 F40s vs 1900 Countach. If you account for the fact that plenty of those Countachs were earlier versions, the version contemporary to the F40 was actually similar or lower production.
and when you think about it .... nobody would realise back then that its a fake ! Probably not many actually saw one up close back then so they couldn't tell them apart!
There is some excellent camera work which makes the chase look impressive regardless of the fake cars I think, the close up shots and the helicopter shots work well
Those who have driven in it say that it is damn hot in it because of the engine located behind the back. I think this drawback can be corrected with the help of metal foil, pasting the space under the hood, similar to what was done in the McLaren F1. The main thing is to make a layer of heat insulation between the driver's seat and the engine. And also, you can drive in cold weather, in winter, at -30 or -40 degrees Celsius
Neither cars are real. Both were replicas. BUT IN the time where the only pictures of a those cars was a poster in your wall, with a single view and low res tv... that was legit cars in our minds! hahah Even because mr Dolph Lundgren would not fit on a real one! His head looks massive inside that car!!
All they had to do on that F40 kit car was add 40mm wheel spacers and you "almost" could have pulled it off aside from the ride height. But hey, I was an 80's child and this was good enough. I need to borrow this from the interwebs I think.
That is a fiero 40. A kit car running a Pontiac fiero chassis with a fibre glass body. Much more cost effective to wreck a kit car than an actual f40. They were the best version of the f40 kitcars available at the time. The countach is a kitcar as well. Not sure what manufacturer as there was so many building them at the time.
Ah man this just brings back memories of street racing & running from the law in my teenage year's 😂. Ah hell if i still had that 4 wheeled beast i just might still be out there doing it again. 😂😂😂,
If I recall correctly, the scenes are from a movie titled 'Dark Angel', though I believe it was released on VHS as 'I Come in Peace'. It's from that era of tough-guy one-liners. The memorable line from this film goes, "You came in peace, now you'll leave in pieces." I really enjoy these classic films!
I just now noticed that there are no actual popup headlights on that F40 replica kit. Used to love that movie as a kid exactly because of that chase between the Countach and the F40. Would be cool if someone tries to replicate it with the real cars, w/o the bumps and crashes of course.

Probably an MR2 and they should have kept it that way. Nothing to be ashamed.
No actual F40's where harmed during the making of this video

Yes ☺ 😊 👌
Not really, honestly.
The F40 is an evolution of the 288 GTO, which was originally meant for both Group B rallying and Group B GT.
lmao I could tell from the thumbnail something was off about that F40

The base for this F40 replica was the first-generation Toyota MR2.
Everyone's talking about the F40 but that Countach isn't any more real than the "Ferrari"
The proportions are better though.
El ef 40 tampoco es real.. hen un reportaje comento el producto que eran replicas

They filmed the scenes with replicas because the real ones broke on the way to the shooting place.
Not so bad when the resolution of tv back then was like 480p.
True story lol.
My Countach is very reliable actually
@@MarksHouseofCars-js4vo every car is reliable when you dont drive them, lol.
@A2J_Tim not true at all. Not during them makes them way less reliable. Hoses harden, fluids dry up, it's the worst thing you can do for a car.

Even if the cars are fake, still a pretty nice car chase! Both were hauling assssss
Yeah...if you ignore the film being sped up...
Look like they might have even splurged and used the V-6 powered Fiero chassis too.
I See only one hauling ASS
The short wheel base... 😀 haha, it looks super funny.
That F40 looks like so 1/64 Bburago Ferrari F40 scaled up. But nice music 🎵 .

Oh... It's Fiero vs Fiero
Pontiac ferro body kits, big in the 80s when you wanted a spots car

People often forget and even underestimate the offroad knowledge and ability Ferrari worked into the F40. Ferrari had WRC intentions for 1990!
Love the contemporary F40 rival at porsche: the 1986 Dakar 959 ❤
Yeh the F40 is basically a facelift 288 gto, kinda, which was designed for group B rally.
Here I am thinking "wtf are they doing to that F-40?". Then I realize I have my beer googles on.
Damn cool video ...... 😎😎
Honestly I think this looks so much better the fast and furious. Imma watch the movie
I will definitely give props to the stunt driver of the Fiero40...winging a small car that accurately can be a challenge
