@aerialpyropewpew Princess Anne is still performing her duties. Although the Princess Royal never undertook any official military training, she has been in service of the military via her patronage to many charities that support them since she was eighteen years old. She has held the appointment of Chief Commandant of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, actively supporting and representing women in the Royal Navy since 1974 - almost 50 years. She performs hundreds of duties on behalf of the Armed Forces every year. She was bestowed the rank of Rear Admiral in 1993, then promoted to Vice Admiral in 2009. In 2022, her rank was promoted to Admiral. She is also General in the British Army and Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force. Her rank reflects her dedication to continual education and service in her roles, and her integrity of holding those honours.
@Sotto_ Are you by chance illiterate and you have to wait for people to read these comments to you before you can respond? Please inform whomever is reading these comments to you that I asked CHRISTOPHER WATTS what branch of military Princess Anne trained with so that they could show her on active or reserve manoeuvres which is what he's asking for, WHICH WOULD BE NONE. I can guarantee you that I know a lot more about the royal family than you ever will. I made it a point to know because they made a point to know about myself and my family after they got involved with the community because of the tower. This is not your personal venue to educate people to make yourself feel better because of whatever is lacking in your life. Especially when you're not educating them.
I think that all members of the family ought to serve in the military for a spell - whether it works out or not. The idea of not expecting Prince George (or Prince Louis, or Princess Charlotte) to serve in the military is a great error. I hope that HRH The Prince and Princess change their minds.
I would hazard a guess that as he grows, Prince George will want to graduate from Sandhurst and serve in the military like his father. Look at William in uniform and how he carries himself. What boy would not want to be like that when he’s a man?
I hope future royals serve, even if not by necessity. Service is a worthy goal in and of itself, but service, so that you understand the people you demand loyalty from, is a foundational part of the modern monarchy. It's hard to ask people to die for something you refuse to do yourself.
I would think that Williams 2 years working as an air ambulance pilot would be at least as harrowing as Harry"s 30 weeks on active service in Afghanistan. At the very least he would be more involved in the trauma suffered by friends and family of the injured he ferried.
And there’s much to be said for William wondering if he could have done something different if someone passed. “I should have gotten there faster”, “where did I go wrong?” - that sort of thing.
He hasn’t served in all services…he has a role in services he served in air force, the other roles are honoury…ie head of navy etc…he’s not an active soldier sailor or marine…nor was Harry he was an honoury head of marines…as princess Margaret etc
It's so strange how things have changed. Before you could only become king through war. It's why the people accepted the kings in the first place. Now they're essentially the exact opposite. A figurehead who contributes nothing unique to the battle

What.a tragic end.
Good thing your opinion has nothing to do with that decision.
@@Sotto_ Charlie mostly speaks twaddle.Prince William speaks sensibly
Charlie sports a long row of medals.I wonder what precisely they represent?
Why show henry & not Anne, Edward or Andrew?
Notice they didn't say where Harry received his wings, or who awarded them to him.
Would you like to enlighten us what military duty Anne did?
@aerialpyropewpew
Princess Anne is still performing her duties.
@EF5Winds You would think these people don't think other people know what Google is.🙄

I think that all members of the family ought to serve in the military for a spell - whether it works out or not. The idea of not expecting Prince George (or Prince Louis, or Princess Charlotte) to serve in the military is a great error. I hope that HRH The Prince and Princess change their minds.
@@EF5Winds Very pleased to hear that the Prince of Wales has that perspective. Thank you.

I don't know where you got the information that Harry was active duty for 30 weeks in Afghanistan. It was four months total for both tours.
@@Faafo245 Google said 10 weeks first tour and 20 weeks second tour. I apologise if I got that wrong.
And there’s much to be said for William wondering if he could have done something different if someone passed. “I should have gotten there faster”, “where did I go wrong?” - that sort of thing.

2:43 she told him
Check his service more closely and you will discover that Willy was a time server; Had did the minimum time for the job then moved on.
1:45 anyone make out what cap he wore ? (Iron Duke)
I would like to tell you my army story.
Will prince george and prince louis serve in military?
He hasn’t served in all services…he has a role in services he served in air force, the other roles are honoury…ie head of navy etc…he’s not an active soldier sailor or marine…nor was Harry he was an honoury head of marines…as princess Margaret etc
Harry actually deployed to a warzone William didnt
It's so strange how things have changed. Before you could only become king through war. It's why the people accepted the kings in the first place. Now they're essentially the exact opposite. A figurehead who contributes nothing unique to the battle
