      Prince Albert was NOT a Consort , not Prince Consort Albert . Prince Albert married Elizabeth (Lyon) and she became effectively the Queen Consort Elizabeth when Albert became King. Prince Albert was the second born son, with Prince Edward being the first born son - the Heir. Edward Abdicated the Throne for Wallis Simpson so Prince Albert, the Spare, became the Heir. He was Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margarets father. @@EF5Winds
      When Prince Albert + Elizabeth had children, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret, they lived a relatively normal life, albeit homeschooled because their mom Elizabeth believed that as girls, they would simply grow up and marry wealthy well-to-do men, like she did . She felt going to school was only for those needing careers and to socialize. When Prince Albert's dad died and Edward abdicated, he was away at the time with his wife Elizabeth (young Elizabeth + Margarets mom). It was up to young Princess Elizabeth to explain to her sister P. Margaret that daddy is now King of England. Anyway, fast forward to Princess Elizabeth being married to Prince Philip, living in Malta with Young P.Charles + P. Anne. when she finds out her dad's dead this making her the Queen. Her mother had was now the Queen Dowager but didn't fancy that title it was also too confusing to have her still called Queen Elizabeth if Princess Elizabeth was going to keep her name as her Regnant name. The very first Queen Elizabeth was not Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret's mom, it was a true Queen, a Reigning Monarch, Q Elizabeth from much more than 100 years ago. So when P. Elizabeth became Queen that is where her Q. E II (TWO) Comes from, the second Reigning Queen named Elizabeth, not from her mom. Her mom then became known as Queen Mom, . Again she was never a Reigning Queen, she was equal to Queen Camilla's position. Hence Albert was not a Prince Consort, ever.

    • @pollyanna1112
      @pollyanna1112 Рік тому

      @@comet1227 I think you've got your Elizabeth's mixed up. You have written about ; when exactly did E pass and if it was just before or just after Charles being born, yet her dad was still alive etc ...
      Elizabeth did not die young. Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip married, they had P. Charles + P. Anne. They were living abroad in Malta as Philip was in the Navy stationed there. P Elizabeth found out her dad had died Her dad was originally Prince Albert the Spare to the Heir Prince Edward. Prince Edward abdicated the throne for Wallis Simpson, which meant P Albert, became King. Albert was married to a woman named Elizabeth (Lyon) and before he became King, they had 2 girls - P Elizabeth + P Margaret. When Albert became King Albert, his wife became his Consort Queen - Queen Elizabeth, is how she was named by all. Once the King Albert died, and his first born daughter would ascend the throne. Enter P Elizabeth, wife to O Philip, mom to P Charles + P Anne, P Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II (2nd) not after her mom as her mom was a consort and not a reining Queen . The new Queen Elizabeth II didn't die until just over a year ago. Before mom became known as Queen Mom / the Queen's Mom,

    • @pollyanna1112
      @pollyanna1112 Рік тому +11

      Yes, this stood out to me too. There is always much fuss made about "how wonderful Harry was because he was the Army for 10 years, serving 2 Tours in Afghanistan" like "oh hail the Hero Harry" ... Which is depicted through both Harry's narrative, the Sugars narrative + the media too.
      Yet ... Little is said about William and his skill, dedication, determination to learn, train in all three areas and to work for all three, successfully. The media hardly recognize him for that. Likewise folk often say oh but William didn't go to war blah blah.
      Let's not forget too, that Prince Andrew served over 20 years, doing 4 tours of duty in War.

    • @audreycollins9841
      @audreycollins9841 Рік тому +13

      Harry’s two tours consisted of, first tour lasted only weeks as Australian magazine let it be known he was in Afghanistan, second tour was six months, where he spent his time being baby sat by his fellow solders. He was known to them as bunker Harry as he never came out.

    • @Faafo245
      @Faafo245 Рік тому +5

      That would be incorrect. Harry's first tour consisted of 10 days where he informed the press where he was because he wanted to go home for a party. His second tour of duty consisted of four months where he remained largely underground taking resources from actual people in danger.@@audreycollins9841

      The Monarch of the UK is also Head of all branches of the Armed Services .
      As such ,it is necessary to show support to those serving personnel and it helps if the person has some personal knowledge, which is why the heir to the throne usually spends time in all of them.
      Also, all members of the Armed Services ,the Police and other organisations swear an Oath of Allegiance to the Sovereign and heirs forever, so Harry has already broken that Oath ,apart from his dubious behaviour.

    Prince George as future King should serve in the Armed Forces. The Military takes an Oath to the King and his heirs. Breaking Royal tradition is ridiculous.

      Edward completed four months out of 12 in the Royal Marines before he opted out. The family members wear the uniforms that they have honorary titles within. That is why Anne and Edward wear dress uniforms without completing the required training. Needless to say once you retire from the military you don't wear your uniform as it is.

    • @Sotto_
      @Sotto_ Рік тому +2

      @aerialpyropewpew
      Princess Anne is still performing her duties.
      Although the Princess Royal never undertook any official military training, she has been in service of the military via her patronage to many charities that support them since she was eighteen years old. She has held the appointment of Chief Commandant of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, actively supporting and representing women in the Royal Navy since 1974 - almost 50 years. She performs hundreds of duties on behalf of the Armed Forces every year.
      She was bestowed the rank of Rear Admiral in 1993, then promoted to Vice Admiral in 2009.
      In 2022, her rank was promoted to Admiral. She is also General in the British Army and Air Chief Marshal in the Royal Air Force.
      Her rank reflects her dedication to continual education and service in her roles, and her integrity of holding those honours.

      @Sotto_ Are you by chance illiterate and you have to wait for people to read these comments to you before you can respond? Please inform whomever is reading these comments to you that I asked CHRISTOPHER WATTS what branch of military Princess Anne trained with so that they could show her on active or reserve manoeuvres which is what he's asking for, WHICH WOULD BE NONE. I can guarantee you that I know a lot more about the royal family than you ever will. I made it a point to know because they made a point to know about myself and my family after they got involved with the community because of the tower.
      This is not your personal venue to educate people to make yourself feel better because of whatever is lacking in your life. Especially when you're not educating them.

    I think that all members of the family ought to serve in the military for a spell - whether it works out or not. The idea of not expecting Prince George (or Prince Louis, or Princess Charlotte) to serve in the military is a great error. I hope that HRH The Prince and Princess change their minds.

    I hope future royals serve, even if not by necessity. Service is a worthy goal in and of itself, but service, so that you understand the people you demand loyalty from, is a foundational part of the modern monarchy.

    I would think that Williams 2 years working as an air ambulance pilot would be at least as harrowing as Harry"s 30 weeks on active service in Afghanistan. At the very least he would be more involved in the trauma suffered by friends and family of the injured he ferried.
