What a great tune .Can,t be certain but i think they played The Scene club Soho around that time .I went there every saturday night for a couple of years .Probably the best all nighter club then
looks more like Walter Johnstone to me, who did not get replaced until 1967 by Mike Kellie, This drummer is playing Traditional grip (also known as orthodox grip)Mike Kellie used matched grip. also have picture 1966 with Walter sitting at same patterned kit. Can anyone who knew him better confirm this.
I WANNA BE FREE pieseň skupiny THE V:I: P:s z Carlisle, ktorú tvorili Mike Harrison spev, piano, Luther Grosvenor gitara, spev, Greg Ridley basová gitara a Mike Kellie bicie. Krátku dobu v nej hral a Keith Emerson než vyvorili skupinu Nice. U spoločnosti Island vydali dva singly. V roku 1966 I wanna Be Free a v roku 1967 In A Dream. Krátko na to zmenili názov na Art a následne na Spooky Tooth. Do zostavy pribudol spevák a klavirista Gary Wright.
Hello zzzey2. I heard this in 1966, it made my spine tingle and I immediately bought the single. To find a live version of this just blew me away. Do you have any other live VIPs material, or was this a one off French TV deal. I have two French EPs by the band, so I know there was a special French connection.......cheers
Mike Harrison, the greatest white blues/rock singer UK ever produced ! - fronting a very talented Carlisle group. Congratulations to zzzey2 for placing this rare footage on UA-cam.
Mike Harrison, vocals extraordinaire
j'adore ! souvenirs souvenirs..j'entendais ça en boîte !
One of the underrated British R´n B bands of 65/66 years... due many changes later members became Spooky Tooth.
Very good singer!! And perfect rare movie! Thanks!!!
Man, I dig those minor chords and the raspy vocals. Never heard this before... awesome!
Le chanteur semble être Mike Harrison avant Spooky Tooth
Quel chanteur ! Ca c'est du feeling !
Saw them at the Star Club Hamburg when we were playing there too........
Blue eyed soul brother!
and the beat goes on....
British bad boys didn't mess around.
Somewhere between Kinks and Animals.

Doesn’t even touch the Joe Tex version. This pales in comparison
Rien à voir avec Spooky Tooth ........
The french studio audience really cannot dance.
Very weak by comparison with the Joe Tec original
Joe Tex's version is the better version
Wow, this wasn't very good was it.
