Yeah. He literally ended many careers. I remember what Jonathan Trott said, that he made him want to drive his car into a tree or something due to depression.
Australia needs to start making sporting pitches once again. Test cricket in England has become exciting because of conditions favorable to bowlers. Adelaide Oval and MCG have been low and flat for long and WACA has lost its sting. Hopefully, the new stadium in Perth will have more bounce and movement. But in general wickets in Australia need to have juice back in them.
This series happened when I was studying 10+2 . Me and my friend daily buy a newspaper buy going out illegally from our hostel. Untill the series happened daily we bought newspaper to know how many wickets Johnson took that day. We made jokes on Peterson and troot. Fun to remember those days.. I am a big fan of MJ
By far & away the most enjoyable Ashes series I've seen since first watching them in 1982-83 (from an Australian fan that is!) Great team work from an unheralded team. Great bowling from a much maligned bowler. We had a team of champions beforehand throughout the 90s & 00s but this ashes provided more enjoyment than all those prior. (Only my opinion of course!)
When Johnson struck Trott on the gloves and then had him caught down the leg side fending at a short ball, Pietersen says "a shudder ran through the (England) dressing room". And Pietersen, playing in his 100th Test, was so shaken by what he saw that he couldn't eat as he waited to enter the arena. "Lunch? No thanks. I was sitting there, thinking: I could die here in the f**king Gabbattoir," Pietersen wrote of the moments immediately after Trott's dismissal. "How could Trotty, this calm, collected buddy of mine, play like that? Get hit like that? Get out like that? "I was really worried. "I had been petrified: if Trotty can get played like that there is no hope for me, because Trotty is normally so calm and cool." Having pummelled Johnson several times during the 2009 and 2010-11 Ashes series, Pietersen says he was unsure whether the left-armer could live up to the pre-match hype that surrounded him. Having been shaken by Trott's dismissal, Pietersen says a mid-pitch exchange with Johnson was the moment he knew that the 2013 incarnation of the Aussie firebrand was a different proposition to the one that had been ridiculed by England fans during previous Ashes campaigns. "As I ran past Mitchell Johnson and I said to him, it's me or you, buddy, and believe me, I'm less scared of getting out than you are scared of giving me a lot of runs," Pietersen wrote. "He looked at me, just stared at me, he didn't say anything back. He kept staring and walked past. "S**t. S**t. S**t. On so many occasions in the past Johnson has always bit back: shut up, KP, f**k off, shut up, big shot. "This time he didn't say anything, and immediately I knew he was different. "I would have preferred him to have said something, to engage with me, but he didn't, and that's when I knew the series could be tough. "It proved to be extremely tough." Pietersen says the mustachioed quick didn't even need to have the ball in his hand to send shudders through the England camp during the series, which Australia won 5-0. "Michael Clarke captained him brilliantly by using him in three-over bursts to keep him fresh throughout the day," he wrote. "And because he was never tired, the threat of him hung over us like a sword all day long. "Part of Johnson's deal this time was that he was in our heads even when he wasn't bowling. "You very seldom hear people in your own team saying that they are physically scared, but our tail-end batsmen were scared. "I heard (Stuart) Broad, (Jimmy) Anderson and (Graeme) Swann say they were scared. "When you've got that, you know that a bloke in the other team is doing damage. "(After the Gabba Test) we were done, then, until the next time. "My knee was hurting. My pride was dented. Trotty was in shreds. The tail-enders were scared. Cooky was dithering. "It was clear that Johnson was already a weapon that we had no answer to."
That stare he gave Anderson after getting his wicket in Adelaide, that defines it, after their loss in the previous ashes, this time Johnson really wanted to decimate the English, he absolutely wrecked havoc among the Englishmen, several players retired after that series, a lot of players dropped, Broad became a genuine tail ender from a decent batter, this whole performance by Mitch changed the whole complexion of both the teams. One of the Greatest fast bowling performance in a series

I never saw that kind of fierce fast bowling....his 2013-14 ashes performance is one of the best fast bowling of all time
Feels bad for Carberry just got one series and that too against dangerous bowling attack 😥 and worst pitches to bat on wherever everybody failed except Stokes, but still he(carberry) was the only one to be dropped
This Series
Johnson didn't Bowl a Single Delivery Below 140
Absolute Domination
I think he ended few careers after that series. What a brutal spell of bowling!
Few? Many. KP, Monty panesar, Graeme swann, matt prior, ian bell, Johnathan Trott. This was their last series.
2 flew home with mental conditions before the series was even over
@@Wanker59 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Idk why I love this man very much.....
Wow almost 40 test wickets in 5 test matches ! Incredible
The bitterness has finally diminished and as an Englishmen I can now watch this in all of its glory. Unbelievable fast bowling.
Yeah. He literally ended many careers. I remember what Jonathan Trott said, that he made him want to drive his car into a tree or something due to depression.
That moustache says it all.🔥
We all will miss Mitchell Johnson in this ashes series 2019
Australia needs to start making sporting pitches once again. Test cricket in England has become exciting because of conditions favorable to bowlers. Adelaide Oval and MCG have been low and flat for long and WACA has lost its sting. Hopefully, the new stadium in Perth will have more bounce and movement. But in general wickets in Australia need to have juice back in them.
Or maybe always start a series at the GABBA
After Philip Hughes death, they are not making bouncy pitches.. We can see flat batting friendly pitches..
@@MsVivek71 didn't help England much in the last ashes series
Man i still remember i used to copy johnsons action when i was young and played cricket with my freinds absolute legend of his time
This series happened when I was studying 10+2 .
2013-14 ashes series will be remembered only for mitcHELL jonhnson ❤️
Back for my annual re-watch, still the best bowling performance over a series I've seen 🔥
"I had been petrified: if Trotty can get played like that there is no hope for me, because Trotty is normally so calm and cool."
Having pummelled Johnson several times during the 2009 and 2010-11 Ashes series, Pietersen says he was unsure whether the left-armer could live up to the pre-match hype that surrounded him.
"It proved to be extremely tough."
Pietersen says the mustachioed quick didn't even need to have the ball in his hand to send shudders through the England camp during the series, which Australia won 5-0.
Mitchell Johnson+ Mitchell starc= incredible unbelievable bowling force. Most terrifying deadly combination
The rhythm in which he was bowling looked amazing .
What a series by Johnson. I'll never forget it.
He was the real gun. His aggression, his accuracy and his passion for the game was outstanding. Love for him from Pakistan ❤
I like johnson very much , his bowling action 🔥
My favouraite fast bowler of all time .
1:01 the celebration
Cricket needs a fiery bowler like him again. He brings excitement to the game. Modern day fast bowlers are no longer aggressive.
