Thank you so much for posting this tribute. I'm sorry I missed the original, but this helps make up for that oversight. Many thanks.

I thought Paul Newman unquestionably should have won the oscar for The Verdict.

Yes, he sure deserved it for that. And for Hud, Cool Hand Luke and/or Nobody's Business. And a supporting actor for Road to Perdition. Imho.
A truly gifted actor and a solid guy. Joanne is equally talented and a great gal!

when I was younger I was madly in love with Sally Field. I rented her movies on VHS and I must have seen "Murphy's Romance" with James Gardner like 3 times in the theater. I actually bought the Playboy she was in, but really for the interview!!! Burt Reynolds was a lucky guy

I watched that as a part of their Iconoclasts episode. Its available on youtube. I wish the whole Kennedy Centre Honors was available. Redford's speech was very nice too n he read out a hilarious recommendation letter that Newman had written for him.

I heard she is ill also and keeps asking where Paul is. Horrible disease and may not recognize family anymore.

She is not! In1985 she played a professor who begins to suffer from Alzheimer's disease!
In real life she is fine!

They might've had a successful career if they'd just been a little more attractive.
