KNIFE MAKING- REVIEWING PINECONE RESIN SCALES

In this video I do a review on some pinecone resin scales.
These pinecone resin scales make a beautiful handle as long as you are careful about a few things
1. Don't grind down on the thickness on the side you want showing
2. Make sure you clean them well before using epoxy
3. Don't clamp them to hard

So, the pine cone wood, after being sanded down, is exposed to the air right? Any concern about the soft wood chipping out of the handle at all or does it maintain its form well?

I have had one for 2 years with no issues, but if it was dropped it definitely would be as strong as wood
