My biggest criticism for the sprinter is the interior space. It’s too small for more than two people. And it’s expensive to fix. There no storage. Thanks for sharing.
Omg, that white van did look warm and luxurious but, by far, height is more important. I can't imagine not being able to stand up straight. You two always give us the good, the bad and the ugly, from height, space, toilets, #2, no sugar coating. Dessert snow definitely fits you two.
I love the fact that you are trying to educate people on the pros and cons of RV living. The difference between each make and model. Hi Tonya and Dave.. it’s such a pleasure to watch you guys.. I love how you make things work🥰and these tips are so interesting.. stay safe and we are all waiting on another “live” stream..🥰🥰❤️❤️
It's good to hear others talk about their thought processes used to decide on an RV. My wife and I had talked about moving from a travel trailer to Class A or C. We had settled on gas since they tend to cost less than diesel to maintain and I know I will have better luck getting a Ford serviced in rural areas than I would a Mercedes. In the end we decided to stick with a travel trailer for multiple reasons. The two biggest were the fact that Ford Commercial Truck centers in my local area won't work on any RV so the nearest place is 90 miles away and the other is we would be bringing a TOAD which turns out to be the same amount of work as hooking and unhooking a trailer. You mentioned the twin beds. I've become pretty sold on them. Every RV we've seen can be converted to a larger single sleeping area should you want it. What sold me on them though has nothing to do with sleeping. Instead I like that the aisle between the bed makes the RV feel longer and more open where as the end of a larger bed becomes a hard delineation between interior spaces. In the smaller space of an RV I will take whatever I can to make it feel more open.
Hey Ladies and Gents! I am getting a custom built 27 North Ascender 40 A with a Custom 20 Ft. Trailer with a roof deck. My rig is a 6X6 on a Ford f-750 Chasis. Built in Drone, and about 3200 in solar. It’s costing me around $1.5 M, but it will be my home for some time. Love your channel! I also have an incinerator toilet. Just burn it up HaHa!
Thanks for the pros and cons of RV shopping. . That van looked really nice but the Ekco looks like it was the best buy. Bailey and Brady look adorable.

I love the Echo and it looks very comfortable for you guy's and the kitties and they seem to love it too. Especially when they can take control of your bed especially when you're driving. They just sleep away LoL. Anyway love and prayers always and stay safe see you in the next video
Thanks for you video and sharing your purchase choice. Like you we had a an RV all picked out and waited over 2 1/2 years to get a Leisure Wonder on the Ford All wheel drive. We also almost bought a Class B Pleasure-way while waiting, but decided it just wasn't large enough long term for our retirement plans. Unfortunately the price kept going up on the Leisure Wonder while we waited and found out that the company just wasn't getting the Ford chassis up to Canada to build (heard they are up to a 5+ year wait list now). Luck for us a private sale of a barely used 2021 Winnebago Navion came up for sale last fall close to home and we went and saw it and fell in love. Very happy with our decision and agree its nice having a name product of Winnebago with dealers across North America to turn to for when you need repair help. We also agree having a Ford All Wheel Drive would have been nice for cheaper maintenance/repair and easier gas location/price, but have found a Mercedes dealership close to home that seems very good, as well as the Gas Buddy APP to locate cheap diesel (even occasionally at some Costco's). Interestingly enough we saw you pull into the Oasis resort in Vegas while we were doing our 1st shake down trip in at the end of April with red mud on your tires fresh from some off-roading adventure. You (Tanya) waved at us with great big smile! Have since discovered your videos from watching RV unplugged and we love both of you and like seeing how you are so good with each other as you deal with all those stressful situations we RVer's come to know always happen at some point. Keep up the good work and videos!
I absolutely love your Ekko ! We originally wanted a Small Class C but I will be doing the majority of driving and as I’ve gotten older I’m less comfortable driving ( mostly parking ) a bigger rig. We have a mobile home in a 55 and up park and also wanted something compliant with the rules. We recently purchased a 2018 Carado Banf on a 2017 Promaster. So far we are enjoying camping at the state parks here in Florida, getting ready to travel to our home state of Michigan.
Hi. I am from Jacksonville/Atlantic Beach ⛱️ . I was wondering if you have been to Hannah Park yet? It's a beautiful place. State park I believe. I live in the area. Be Blessed on your travels 🙏🏼 ❤
Very nice but the major difference between a class B and a C is construction. The class B is built from a van, which is better built longer lasting tougher. A class c is foam boards. I’m glad your happy I’m lucky being short a van is plenty tall.
Lauren and Liam here, the stringer vans are awesome and fun but not appropriate for 2 people. Especially if you prefer a well organized Space, with room for 2 comfortably. I love the one you have. It’s truly amazing
It's always good to see you two. I don't think you have enough videos (just kidding). So l just binge watch some of your old videos from both channels. Be blessed family ❤️
Love the videos! I went through the same thing. I was so close to ordering a Pleasure Way On Tour. Luckily the dealership had a decent inventory for COVID and I could walk inside most of the different models. I ended up with a Leisure Travel Van Rear Lounge on the Transit chassis. The class B was just a little bit too small. I had to wait 27 months for the LTV but it has been worth the wait.
We are in the process of consigning our Winnebago Class A (built on Class C Sprinter chassis) for one of the reasons you mentioned. While we love the floorplan, the Sprinter is outrageously expensive to repair and maintain and we've had a lot more problems with the chassis then we've had on our Fords. Over $20k in the 6 years we've owned it.

I'm also considering the Winnebago ekko. The only thing I see so far I'd change is that eating area, as you both mentioned. I would have a double bench seat with recliners there facing toward door verses back of the drivers seat. I've seen in other RV's with similar space. I'd have them facing the door with the table in front, with a table that can be removed. I don't know if this is a possibility. I haven't been able to get into an ekko where I'm at, but I do know that in smaller units, i've seen it done. Also, I've seen it where people have converted that space, just not in an ekko at this point. I will be watching to see what you two decide.
Thanks sooooo much for this knowledge!!! You both are awesome to do this for us Non RV peeps…. Thank you for this video! I’m thinking of my retirement and I’m a empty nester as well…. Right now I’m just looking at options …. Tiny home 🏡 land etc
Tomorrow is moving day! I’m trading my travel trailer for another 22 footer. It has a better layout, better storage, solar panels, backup camera. A litter robot is coming for my cats. A fellow RVer told me about hers. I had the litter maid when they first came out. Would you believe I scraped that just as much as a standard box? My complaint is the low quality and failure. It stopped midway through a cycle. Not good. My cats required a new litter box stat.
How do yaull deal with condensation during the winter, I live in a camper full time and my bedroom during the winter the walls just stay soaked with condensation,
So sorry to hear about your experience in Vegas. We were there the same time as you then headed to Klamath Falls OR then to Troutdale OR. What way were you heading North, South, or East? We have headed north further. Be safe, & have fun! Forward Bound from Iowa
I enjoy your videos. It’s a beautiful rig you have so many positives. I have to admit for the cost of that rig and you guys living full time that you don’t have a proper bathroom and shower with a black and gray tank would be a game changer for me. Thank you for all your tips and information and fun. Safe travels 🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼
Winnie price $162,000-$245,000 dollars 😮... The drawback of a sprinter is it's hard to find replacement parts for a mercedes in many rural areas of the usa.
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld we own a 2018 Jayco Greyhawk 31fs bunk mode. Fam of four and have been torn on selling it to go with a B or B+ type RV. We live in a small downtown area and have to store other 32 class c and it becomes a hassle when planning travel etc. For that reason we are looking to go smaller. Love the Ekko since it's the only B+ on the transit with a pop top but thinking of going with a Roadtrek Slumber model simply because it can be a daily driver, be parked at home, and act as our RV as well. Another model I'm considering is the Coachmen Crosstrail 20b which also sits on the transit and has an overcab bunk and just 23' long. Thanks for posting your thoughts on the Ekko.

Essentially look at the ambulance conversions to an RV on youtube and then look at the Ekko.
Thanks, and what will we see?
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld Ekko concept derived from ambulances converted to RV design
Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome Glyn!
Hi cuties and meow to your adorable cat.
My question is, did you upgrade the fuel tank to a 47 gallon tank? If not why not? Do you guys stip or have stopped @ a Costco wholesale for food and or spend the night? Thanks great channel and when are you guys going to have kids? Hurry up.
I will be watching to see what you two decide.
theres an elephant in the room here. a good elephant. but an elepahant none the less.
Very good info!!!
How long have y’all been doing RV life? Did you say you were from up in the northeast?
Love y’all 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
Thanks so much Tammy, we have had our EKKO since October 2021 and been full time for just over a year.
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld awesome!!! I’m so glad I found y’all 😃❤️
Hi love your videos. Could I ask what price difference there was between the two. If you don't mind. Thanks
Turn the seats at the table into padded bench seat.
Thanks for the tip Lynn! We are thinking about it!!
Hello! What brand is your portable grill in the aluminum case that was pictured in this video? Thank you for responding. Take care.
Thanks Anna! It's a Nomad Grill here bit.ly/3mSgVbO - You can use PROMO CODE: TIUWNOMAD for 15% Off if interested
❤❤❤❤thanks
You’re welcome!
Thanks sooooo much for this knowledge!!! You both are awesome to do this for us Non RV peeps…. Thank you for this video! I’m thinking of my retirement and I’m a empty nester as well…. Right now I’m just looking at options …. Tiny home 🏡 land etc
Thanks Lisa, we are glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Mary, moving day! Exciting, best of luck!
Where do you get your Trabsit serviced inder warranty. My Ford dealer and most won't touch a small motorhome?
How do yaull deal with condensation during the winter, I live in a camper full time and my bedroom during the winter the walls just stay soaked with condensation,
Thanks Lois, we have a dehumidifier and we also will keep the vent open just a crack.
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld thanks for the advice, I'll try that this coming winter , this past winter was horrible, lol. Ty..
Thanks for sharing! How do you both sit and eat at that table!? I must have missed that video...😊😊😊😊
Thanks Karen, we can turn the van seats around, so we use the driver side cab seat to also sit at the table.
@LetsTurnItUpWorld Ohhhh, ok thanks, that makes sense now lol!😆😁
So sorry to hear about your experience in Vegas. We were there the same time as you then headed to Klamath Falls OR then to Troutdale OR. What way were you heading North, South, or East? We have headed north further. Be safe, & have fun! Forward Bound from Iowa
Thanks Kathy, sounds as though you are doing quite a bit of traveling!
Definitely looks like a lot of storage and garage space in the Ford
Yes, Elaine, you are absolutely right!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I enjoy your videos. It’s a beautiful rig you have so many positives. I have to admit for the cost of that rig and you guys living full time that you don’t have a proper bathroom and shower with a black and gray tank would be a game changer for me. Thank you for all your tips and information and fun. Safe travels 🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼
Thanks so much Mark, yes, we can understand that our rig won’t be for everyone!
❤️
Thanks!
Cargo capacity is my guess before finishing the vid…
Shawn, thanks, cargo space is a big factor for sure.
I'm guessing, the Sprinter will cost a lot more for each repair needed, it's a Mercedes.
Winnie price $162,000-$245,000 dollars 😮... The drawback of a sprinter is it's hard to find replacement parts for a mercedes in many rural areas of the usa.
Thanks, we didn’t play close to that price, but prices have increased since when we bought. Thanks for the info regarding replacement parts.
going weight weenie with an Esprinter
Did you look at the Chinook Maverick on the Ford Transit chassis?
We did not look at the Chinook Pete. What kind of rig do you have?
I liked this but would have also appreciated a nose to tail slow tour. I don't feel like I've seen all the features. Maybe the future?
Thanks Marissa, we have done full tours of the EKKO on our channel if you are interested.
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld I'll look again, I did pull up the video list. Maybe I just missed it. Do you know what you titled it?
I would have to have a cinerator toilet in my van - don't care about cost.
Thanks Rosa! Have you ever tried a cassette toilet?
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld I guys, I've not started van life yet but planning to. I just don't like the idea of emptying out a toilet🤮
Professional bus driver with a decade experience with :
Ford E350 Econoline cutway Starcraft 6.8L V10 gas & 7.3L V8 diesel 4speed automatic
Ford F550 Grech 7.3L Powerstroke diesel 6 & 10 speed automatic with manual shift mode & tow / haul
Ford F650 Grech 7.3L Powerstroke diesel 6 & 10 speed automatic with manual shift mode & tow / haul
Ford Transit all sizes lengths & heights & engines & transmission options 3.5L, 3.7L, ecoboost
6 & 10 speed automatic with manual shift mode & tow / haul
Mercedes Sprinter all sizes lengths & heights & engines & transmission options
diesel & diesel turbo
Ram ( same as Mercedes )
Ram Zenith all electric
I average 75k miles annually in these various buses & vans
By far my favorite
Ford F550 Grech
plenty of power, up steep hills, @ high elevation, smooth engine & transmissions, reliable,
Great in town, city, freeway, cross winds, & San Francisco handling.
Great brakes, easy lane change,
Easy parallel parking
Fairly easy backing up
Good mpgs, good range
10-13 mpgs city
15-18 mpgs hwy
Extra comfortable for driver & passengers long distance haul
Great A/C
Built Ford tough
Built Grech luxury
10/10 not much to improve
AVOID CNG DEFINITELY NOT
RELIABLE & much more expensive than diesel engine
2nd favorite
Transit
You feel completely connected !!!
like driving a real car !!!
Great engines, transmissions, handling, brakes, over all reliable
Easy driver, parker, back up
sliding door use plastic / nylon chain & extremely small cheap
plastic wheels ( sliding door mechanism guaranteed to break ) electric door version sucks too ( power door switch on dash cheap will break must use keyfob to open & close )
Best van experience bar none
Comfortable for all long distance
Great visibility
10-12 mpgs city 18-20 mpgs hwy
300 miles range
9/10 fix the dam sliding door
Ford E350
StarCraft builds junk !!!
Junk I say
They cut away the passenger's front door & roof making the bus cabin weak & flimsy !!!
Economical drive train easy to work on & repair & fairly inexpensive
Engine old simple technology less computers
( water pumps go out prematurely @ 60-75k )
Exhaust manifolds crack on high mileage engines
All engines extra weak on steep hills & elevation above 5-6k
Runs good on FLAT hwy & plenty of power
6/10 being generous
Mercedes Sprinter & Ram
🗣️📢💯% JUNK
AVOID at ALL cost !!!!
Expensive to purchase
💩💩💩💩💩engines, underwhelming under powered, NOISY, slow A/F
Weakest of weak sauce engines
See signs for hills, mountains, elevation TURN AROUND !!
German garbage unlike their automobiles
Caveman like build quality
Caveman like build quality
Caveman like build quality
Handles like horse & buck board
dually rear wheels suck
Brakes are good
Transmission good
Hates cross wind
Only thing good is blind spot monitoring & lane assist
3/10 great for homeless shelter
& thats being generous
Ram Zenith all electric EV
Needs 8-12 hrs charge time on 220-240 volts
Charging gets expensive
Run time 6-8 hrs with AC off
3-4 hrs AC on
Average 100-125 miles range
if your lucky
Extra slow acceleration
Feels like a really really really really really really really really
cheap over size Prius
Golf cart build quality
Expensive to purchase
Hard to locate parts, repair shop with knowledge to repair
Good for business tax write off
or cliff
You can rent all 3 vans & experience them for yourself
Wow, thanks for all the info! I’m looking into an RV and this really helps. The EKKO is super nice, but dang, the price!
I'm wondering about garaging a vehicle like this. What is the total height?
It’s about 11 feet.
Hello my friends
Hi Dawn!
What is abs material???😮
Thought y'all switched to a transit EV?
Thanks Stanley, we tested the EV rig for a Winnebago but are now back in Desert Snow!
The ford is the better buy.
Starting at $188,000? ... I'd have to sell my house.
We didn’t pay close to that much, but the list prices are very very high for sure. Thanks for watching.
That's a lot of hotel nights. Sometimes the calculations just don't make sense. You'd have to use such a van for years full-time. Also add in the cost of gas vs driving a car. Something to think about.
Hey Guys, what RV park are you guys at?
Thanks Dennis, we filmed this at Sam’s Town KOA in Vegas!
@@LetsTurnItUpWorld ok i saw the sign, we are right next store are Las Vegas Resort!
Can you tow a car
Why not just crack the windows when you cook? 🤔
Thanks Billy, that’s always an option, which we do very often as well!
Have you tried a travel trailer? Would you consider buying one?
We have not tried a travel trailer yet, but wouldn’t rule it out down the road!
You guys are great!
Thank you for this very informative video.
You’re very welcome Mary
