Nice work! Thanks for sharing. I’m playing there Sunday and was looking for some insights. This was super helpful. And def cool to see a more honest take on the round. See all these guys “complaining” about shooting mid-70’s

Enjoy! It's a beautiful course and regardless of score I was happy to be playing it 🤙

Finally played SJ mini I would say it’s one of my favorite places to play in our area. Great video.

Hey Matt, love your Golf vlogs. Always entertaining and we get to see courses that those of us living in the Bay Area might be interested in playing.
“That being said” looks like Edgewood is on my list.
If you’re ever near Truckee, Old Greenwood is another great course. There’s a sister course, Gray’s Crossing, which I’ve never played.
    Keep up the great work!
    Thank you for sharing 👍⛳️

Used to live in the area where a lot of your VLOGs are situated right across from the Santa Theresa course on Briggs Ct. (used to sneak on every day just before sunset). There was a course on Bailey road called Coyote at the time that was cheap but not bad for the little money they asked. Also spent a few weeks in Tahoe South a few years ago as my sis was living there but didn't play Edgewood. Also have played Hunter Ranch because my other sis used to live in Atascadero (great course, loved it). I played Poppy Hills several times which is a really nice course. I would have thought that you would have tried Pasatiempo by now which is a really great course but pricey now I guess (I used to play it for $12 in the seventies).
If you learn to create more room at the top of your backswing, you could have a lot more power and consistency and be able to keep your lead arm straight. You're pushing your trail hip back well on the backswing (which is good) and have decent spine angle but then you are coming forward to the ball and losing spine angle and having to really bend your trail arm to slow down the release and have enough time get your trail side forward and square the club which take a lot of timing and speedy synchronized weight shift.
This is all caused by not having your hips respond properly to your backswing turn. At the top let your hips feel further back and your belly feel more under you as you transition into the downswing turn. Your hips should feel far enough back and under that you are able to immediately begin turning them to the left without throwing your weight towards the balls of your feet which you do quite a bit. The ball will feel farther from you as you start down and you will have room to just SWING the club through. You are also driving your lead shoulder a little too far toward the ball in the early backswing while your hands come a little too inside and under which is affecting the 2-sided balance of your swing. Once you fix the hip issue and maintain your spine angle a little more you will probably find it easier to have a more neutral centered takeaway. Fixing these issues would give you a lot more usable shaft angle moving into the ball and significantly more compression. Cheers.

Matt Edgewood looks great. You mentioned your new clubs, what did you get? Also you said you dropped the chipper. I've kept my Cleveland Chipper in the bag but only use it for specialty shots. Tight locations or under branches, it's a miracle club. I replaced my lob wedge. A side note, when playing a 3 or 4 club tournament. I can hit 125-130yds with the chipper.

I got the forged TEC one lengths from cobra! The chipper I was using was the old original chip-o for fun and I didn't like it. I'm sure if I got the smart core Cleveland chipper or new ping chipr I would have it in the bag. Cheers!

One of these days I'll head out there and play some courses around there.
BTW, I have a set of Sterling one length irons if you want to try out. They are a too upright for me and am too lazy to get them adjusted. If you want to give them a try, let me know.

I'll keep that in mind! Right now I should probs focus on my game and get a better swing instead buying/trying new equipment so much haha.

Edgewood is a dream course of mine and hope to play it some day. Your driver is pretty on point. Have you taken anymore lessons with Matt? I know I need to get back in with him. Anyway, great video and looking forward to the next one.

Been watching your channel and appreciate what you're doing. Not being critical because I suck at golf too, but why do you focus on "the finishing pose" long after the ball has left the turf? It has little to no affect to where your ball will go.
I think it's a flaw in your swing you should consider eliminating from your game. Then again, what do I know. Carry on.

    • @GolfParfection
      @GolfParfection  Рік тому

Hey no worries! I don't honestly think I'm thinking about the finishing pose all that much it's just something I naturally do? Def will look at that aspect though for the future practice sessions and rounds.
