Just purchased the extended version 3 nights ago and love every minute of it. A movie for kids and the music resonates with my toddlers, teens & me. Ariana DeBose is that rare diamond we need to hear more from and see more of. I'm so in love with each score for Chris Pine. His voice is so much more beautiful than I ever thought. Even after buying 'Into the Woods' & viewing it endlessly. The plot for 'Wish' was a little soft for adult viewing, being that it was to protect dreams and the King's villainous extent of magic didn't do much damage to show dominance. But all in all, it's wonderful for kids & family. I've watched it at least 7 times now. Asha's group of friends is hilarious and I can not stress how much I can not get enough of Alan Tudyk playing the baby goat!!
This movie isn’t as bad as people keep saying it is, in my opinion. It’s mediocre, not trash. But I like watching these behind the scenes things so yay
I wouldn't even say it's mediocre, I liked it more than Elemental. It's just not all there, not all pieces work together, and some songs are just a complete meh. It's no Encanto.
I loved this movie. It is everything my little Disney loving inner child needed to see. I cry like a baby every time I see it. And I get to watch it with my own little girl, it feels even more special as she discovers all of Disney for the first time.
This movie is NOT trash! I think some were expecting this grandiose Disney storyline... But I love how realistic the storyline was, and how this movie paid homage to previous classic Disney films... And I more than love how the main character bears my name, with the same spelling -ASHA🤩
This movie is fine, people just hate it because they have their personal hangups with Disney as a Corporation & couldn’t put that aside so they went in ready to hate it, then they went home & told people on the internet to do the same. The animal sidekick I could do without but the songs are actually good (“At all costs” & Knowing what I know now” are bangers, argue with the wall). The callbacks to classic Disney (Renaissance) fairytales/themes are a clever touch. Not everything needs to be “Puss in Boots”, “Spiderverse”, or Miyazaki levels of groundbreaking but that’s the standard people hold western animated movies to these days that they seldom give others a chance. It’s ok if you didn’t like it but stop acting like this was “Lightyear” or “Good Dinosaur” levels of bad when it really isn’t.
Yeah, I dislike the Disney corporation for reasons besides this movie, but people hate on it hard, I think people just need something to hate nowadays, and I don’t hate wish, but I don’t like Disney.
Excellent points. Just as said in the other comment, people always looking for something to hate. It is human nature. Back in 2020 it was Cats the movie for example. I am a fan of the musical and did not actually hate the movie. It has MANY problems but the extent of loathing was unprecedented. As for Wish, indeed, it is paying for Disney's past perceived sins such as Indiana Jones 5 etc. People feel that by venting their anger of this movie, they are somehow punishing Disney and so they do not judge Wish on its own merits because they are biased against it and want to find more faults with it than what it actually has. And so many people keep saying that the movie could have been fixed if they had kept earlier ideas for it such as the villain couple scenario but I am convinced that even if that was the case, they would have found other things to pick on.
That said, the animation style is phenomenal. It's this glorious combination of old school 2d and cgi. I find myself watching the backgrounds scroll by and I get lost in the magic of the forest. And those cookies!!! Disney did all this and this is the thanks they get. ;)
This movie absolutely made my heart happy! It was a powerfully inspirational and thought provoking movie that stands unique in the depth at which it resonated with my soul. I love this movie and recommend it to anyone who is NOT racist, self-hating, or in general a "happy with the status quo" kinda of person. First of all, NAILED IT! Disney has never before put so much effort into a black female character. It makes it additionally relatable because she is mixed! What a breath of fresh air to be able to show my granddaughter a well-developed character that she can actually see herself in. Now, to remark on the story itself! This tale is a challenge to our souls daring us not to settle for being mediocre. Its essence whispers to the heart with memories from our youth of the dreams we wished to fulfill in our lives. We have all had dreams, and just like in the movie, sadly, many of us are too burdened with our day-to-day lives to see those dreams and wishes come true. This movie reminds us not to give up on our dreams, and not to get so comfortable in mediocrity that we forget that they even exist.
I love this song and Chris Pines vocal are outstanding!!!!!!! I’m craving more of his music if it sounds like this. This movie was not as bad as I heard and I wish I had supported it when it was in theaters but my daughter and I love it. I’m so grateful for the behind the scenes offered on Disney plus. The meaning behind this movie is powerful. I do with the villain song was more story telling and theatrical which is why we love the villain songs in Disney movies. But AT ALL COSTS was outstanding!!!!
I love that they look like they’re acting like the characters while recorders. They do the hand actions and expressions. It’s honestly amazing. I love Wish! ❤❤😊😊
This movie was incredible and because it’s the first Disney movie after its 100 anniversary they went all out, anyone who says it’s trash don’t really know it’s true greatness, it’s a true treasure to have around
@@FilMonger I just definitely know where I stand when it comes to very incredible movies like Wish, cause that film is no amateur movie and it shouldn’t be hated by anyone it was amazing
I love the soundtrack tbh✓ and the concept of putting in some characters, names, lines from our beloved Disney classics were a surprise and I love it!🩷🩷🩷
I liked this movie but I didn't like ending 😅. Magnifico was arrogant and narcissistic but not really evil. I feel they could have helped him. Poor guy had PTSD and paranoia. He needed a friend ❤
Yay someone who likes villains, they’d should have helped him, Disney is delivering the wrong message to punish anyone who does something wrong, even if it’s not in their control
@Icequ4keOfPyrrhia that's not what I mean lol. Of course, punishment is needed when something wrong is done. But he wasn't evil. There is a difference of making a mistake and being evil. His good melted away when he consumed dark magic. I think it would've been interesting for the characters to get dark magic out of him and assure him that some change is ok. Help him make kingdom better. Imagine going through trauma and for no one to go through what he went he built a safe kingdom. And he did keep everyone safe for years. Unfortunately, he saw a lot of things like threats. And he was right that bad wishes can't be granted. Asha was right that he should have returned wishes he won't grant the wishes that ppl can work on themselves (except bad ones). But as I said, paranoia. And the ppl knew they would forget their wishes and they knew that there was a possibility of their wish not being granted. I mean, he adored his wife it was until he consumed dark magic that he threatened her. My uncle used to be a really happy guy. He was the fun guy at parties. Funny and loving. He went to Iraq and got PTSD. He is a completely different man. PTSD is a big deal. I guess my experience with my uncle makes me understand Magnifico more. Different perspectives, not that I love villains.
I consider him a straightforward villain but I would have liked to see a redemption arc. If there is a sequel, maybe they will give him one. Nevertheless, as he became a trapped spirit, there was not much they could do. Of course he ordered them to release him but even if they wanted to, how could they do it? Break the mirror? That could instead result in him dying and finding himself in the great beyond from which they cannot bring him back unless they can resurrect him. For now, he should stay in confinement and reflect upon his actions.
@vassiliapolychronaki1631 I would have loved redemption arc! Maybe they could have helped him before he got sucked in a mirror. Figure out a spell and convince him. The queen would have been perfect for the talk. That would be romantic. And in the end, he could give the reins to the queen. Redemption and forgiveness would have been a unique Disney ending. For example when he grabbed the book and the queen convinced him not to use it. He yelled he doesn't want history repeating itself as he looked at the burnt flag but he listened to her there and you see the love in his eyes for her in that scene. I wanted queen to do something like that at the end of movie. Stop him/ distract him as the others use a spell or something to release dark magic from him. I have a uncle with PTSD so my perspective on Magnifico was different. But he was narcissistic and arrogant too 😂. I don't see that as evil tho 😅
I think this movie perfectly celebrated 100 years of Disney. It wasn’t to complex but it was really fun and inspiring and. It included a great mix of old ideas and new ideas. The animation was amazing. The songs were really good and very emotional. I personally loved the villain because it seemed like a very modern take on a villian and i really liked that idea (he was also really fun and Chris Pine played him amazingly) overall the whole thing was just really fun and happy
This movie has so many hidden gems, it’s unbelievable… not everyone has the 👁️ to 🌊 It’s so much deeper than just a children’s cartoon movie… ❤❤❤❤❤❤x❤❤❤❤❤❤
I loved the movie! It looks beautiful on the big screen, love the concept and has a message, and the songs are really good, my daughter loves This Is The Thanks I Get and At All Cost is beautiful. Nothing wrong with the film.
And because this was celebrating Disney 100th anniversary they wanted to do new things pills while not forgetting the old traditions of all the Disney movies that came before this one that they keep their legacy going and Wish was truly a big piece of pie film entertainment
I found it funny how it asked the question “what other film did she work on in Disney answer will be at the end of the video” meanwhile it shows her on the screen with credits for wish and Frozen giving people the answer.
I love the movie but I still think it wouldve been greater for it to stay 2D and have Starboy as the love interest of Asha. They could've have him and star be a duo like peter and Tinkerbell
So you're telling me this could've been 2D all along? Because the characterization and camera movements wouldn't work? Have they watched their own movies? 🤨
You guys did a wonderful job making the movie wish I love it but I think the story isn't really about what is seems to be I think this movie was about mostly is how it all started for the birth of a fairy godmother you know Cinderella's fairy godmother I think this movie is telling us the story on how the fairy godmother was born
I mean think about it it is Disney's 100 years are you guys all brought in every single animated movie from the first ever Snow White all the way to Frozen, Brave and so much more and let's not forget King magnifico actually is the mirror that will start it all and I think his wife will becomes the evil Queen since she was the one who kept it.
I enjoyed the movie especially the catchy songs. I thought the star was a little out of place as far as the shape and visual. The 5 pointed star that we've all doodled on a paper was a little too easy or lacking in imagination but thats really the only thing I could critique.
Another shallow, predicable failure. Oh, and we’ll just skip the part where a character that is a minor is singing a love song with an adult character. Disney would NEVER support pedos…
