  • Lake Country Low Lint Pre-Washed Wool Pads are designed for the dual action polisher or forced rotation polisher. It also will work on a rotary, however. Designed to remove deep imperfections, it also finishes down surprisingly well. I will feature the pads in this video using different compounds, Polisher and sizes.

      Love the video's. You do such a good job of articulating your thoughts and have a very good approach to the scientific method when testing products. I have a question. How well would a Uro-fiber pad perform with a polish as a more aggressive one-step? Have a truck coming up saturday that belongs to a friend and i want to remove a large portion of the defects, but don't want to do a complete 2-step to it.
      Edit: Would love to see more wetsanding content. Any content from you is good, honestly, lol.

    I know the majority dont use the rotary, but just for reference, i use all sizes of the low lint pads solely with the dewalt rotary, and i absolutely love it. Great expirence. Thanks Brian.

      Erik Datadeen I own a Dewalt rotary as well. It’s the best thing ever for heavy cutting. Most people don’t use them because dual actions are just more user friendly and much lighter. Plus, for some reason, the great majority of people are afraid of the rotary because of misinformation.

    Hi Brian. Question. You speak of hard and soft clear coat all the time. How do you know what you have? Is there a web site to check? Beginner question but i can understand the importance. It is the first step in deciding what pad and liquid to use, no??

    I've watched you compound a black C5 Vette using a Lake Country Microfiber pad and now watched you using a Lake Country Lamb's Wool pad. Since I own a 2001 C5 I'd be interested in why I would select one over the other. The microfiber pad had that black Vette absolutely glowing so wouldn't I be better off using microfiber? I know you mention temperature quite often, so excuse my ignorance when I ask why that is so important to hold down temps on the panel. Thanks for all you do for us amateur detailers.

    • @g8r5oh10
      @g8r5oh10 5 років тому

      Think about what high and low temperatures do to molecules... High temps get them active and causing them to move apart causing expansion. Cooler temps slow down molecules and cause them to contract. Not only is raising the temp bad in some instances, but the delta between two areas in close proximity to each other can possibly degrade all the paint layers (at worst) or just the clear (kind of "at best"). This is the way I understand it. Hope that helps.

    Any idea how well these would work on a boat (gelcoat) and which step they might be suited for? I’m looking for a pad similar to the purple foamed wool but with a bit more cut, to use as a medium cut/final polish after a heavy cut on traditional white twisted wool. I’d be using a Rupes Mille if that makes a difference

    About how many microfiber towels and what type of towels do you use during a full correction? And what type or Style? if there's more than one blend or whatever. I just seem to go through 10 to 15 rags from wiping off compounds , polishes then finally wax or sealant and that's on the outside only (no inside detailing) just seems like a lot of microfibers to go through...... Thanks

    • @felixf5211
      @felixf5211 5 років тому

      1. They towels, not rags. There's a difference :)
      2. On an exterior detail I use anywhere from 20-50 towels, depending on the job. Mostly 350GSM and lower. I can post specifics if there's interest. I use higher GSM towels mostly for buffing and waterless/rinseless washes. Never anything very thick - it's useless. Bran may chime in with his preferences, as well. Good luck.

    • @apexdetail85
      @apexdetail85  5 років тому
