i didn't expect to get emotionally attached to an anxiety-ridden spider stuck in a tub they keep coming back to.
funny story if you see this: I recently moved into a new house & the shower in my room didn't work when I first moved in. There was and STILL IS a little spider just chilling in the tub when I first got to the house. I initially couldn't wash him down the drain because, showers broke, but he & I are chill so now I dap the spider up whenever I'm taking a shit in the bathroom.

I was always amazed and kinda curious - why in USA daddy long legs tend to live in houses, but in Russia they just chill in grass outsides. I saw a shit ton of them when I was a kid. Just traversing the walkways or on playgrounds... Never saw their web though.
Fun fact: daddy long legs actually don't make webs cause they aren't spiders
@@knightsoliareofastora8133 so you said and I looked up. Well, you're half true. Technically you ain't right at all, but that's not really a point. Daddy long legs IS a spider. And it makes webs. But. There's an arachnid lookalike, that kinda mixes up somewhere along the language barrier and even inside languages. I don't think we ever have spider variants. Only arachnids.

@@Blackraven6 I don't know where you looked that up, because you're wrong about there being a non-spider along with a spider version, *AND* about them making webs. They don't even have venomous fangs.
Spiders are ALL of the taxonomic order Araneae, and Daddy-Long-Legs/Grandaddy/Harvestmen are in the order Opiliones.
@@Aethelos I have no idea what you're bubbling about. Look up Pholcidae that are spiders and make webs to hunt. And Opiliones that are not spiders but anthropods and don't make any webs. Both look very similar and can be easily confused. Stop wasting my time. Thank you. Goodbye)

@@gagegaines613 Yeaah no, they are not venomous or poisonous (thats a myth), their fangs are to small to even bite or touch a human with them, they are not even spiders btw they are arachnids. You can pick them up (if there are a lot of in one place, typically around caves) with ur hand and they will run and jump from it like water flowing.

I love this form of storytelling, getting sidetracked because in the end life is crazy and fun and so was that story.
High quality story, have had similar experiences, should be further investigated to see why spiders are drawn to tubs, many plot twists and interesting character development

I have two sisters, so any time any kind of insect of was seen I was told to kill it. I’m so used to killing insects that when I got older the instinct to kill was still there. I’ve had to step back and be like nah that insect just chilling and move it outside

Thank you for being a kind person and actually helping spiders. Lots of people will kill them on sight and its not fair to them. Next time you're trying to help one get a straw and a cup with a lid. Slightly touch its leg and have it walk into the cup then you can take it where ever you want.

since so much of this video is about a "grand daddy long legs", i might as well give out cool facts for those who read comments while watching
"daddy long legs" also go by the names "harvestman spider" and "shepard spider", however, despite these names, they're actually not technically spiders, they are of the order Arachnida Opiliones, rather than Arachnida Arachnae, which is what we commonly refer to as "spiders"
Harvesters don't spin webs at all, they are a hunting arachnid, so they're constantly out and moving around to catch smaller bugs
They also contain no poison whatsoever, despite there being a rumor that they have "the strongest poison on the planet, but they have so little of it/their fangs are so small that they can't actually hurt you". They do not poison, their fangs probably could pinch you a little bit, though the chances of that happening are slim to none, and they are totally safe to handle
Also, they like to gather in bunches! And I mean hundreds of them, all bunched together, like bees around the queen! Just, absolute handfuls of totally harmless arachnids, you could quite literally scoop them up like water and, while creepy, they would be practically unable to hurt you.
Oh and, Kryoz, if you read this for some reason, I would recommend maybe leaving a hand towel, or a bathmat hanging on the side of the tub (like after you shower, in order to dry it off quicker) that you can just leave there, that's close to the base of the tub, so that the harvestmen can reach it to get out.

John, I think you are teaching this daddy long leg a lesson that will help itself and it’s grandkids for life. When the going gets hard, you have to keep trying until you succeed. John has effected its life and many generations of daddy long legs to come.

The best way to get a spider out of the tub is to put a clear cup over it, then gently push a piece of paper between the tub and the cup rim, trapping the spider in it.
