I have the same bike with an air filter and pipes and you can definitely hear them on the highway (especially as you get towards 80mph). I only have the one bike and the vast majority of my riding is not long highway days, so I appreciate the pipes around town… but if I had multiple bikes and this one was a dedicated highway tourer, I’d consider keeping the quiet pipes.
I keep hearing good things about this bike and I'm definitely "intrigued". My only lingering concern is it seems a bit small for the freeway. Then again, I keep hearing reviews where people take in on the freeway with no issue.
So, if I could only have one motorcycle out of the Three? I'd have to say the Interceptor because it's a great all-around bike. Loads of fun to ride too 🙂
Givi panniers look great. Realised that a 50l roll bag and a 30l rucksack not enough for my camping needs. So am guessing you got about 250 miles on one tank, similar to the Himmy? I did 2 hrs on the motorway and was hitting 75/80, noticed fuel went a lot quicker. (Had to arrive for 9am and motorway was 45 mins quicker). Def prefer to be doing 60/65 with full load. Super trip!
Can you interview your friend, who you rode with, that took the Shotgun 650? I'm curious about his thoughts on his bike being a good touring bike. Thanks!
I tried to run 80 indicated on the interstate. I suppose that's 76 or 77 mph real. a lot of the time I ranquite a bit more than that. The bike did not struggle. Actually liked running that fast. Nebraska is a long state 🙂
I enjoyed our time together. I love showing others this motorcycle, Meca. Im working on the Himmy 452 tour of Colorado. Wink wink.
Oh man, that sounds like so much fun. I am ready to roll 🙂
I really enjoy your reviews and ride videos. Thanks for all of the great content, please keep them coming. WAHOO ! ! !
Loads of fun... Thank you 😁
Great trip, you should have your motorcycle partner film you doing some drive-by shots so we can see what the bike looks like going down the road.
Good idea!
Amazing trip and well explained
Great fun!

These are wonderful motorcycles 🙂
Man, that looked like an epic trip in beautiful country! (hoping my lottery tickets come up so I can get back across the pond!)
Good luck!

We blasted a whole mess of freeway on it. 80 to 90 mph most the time I suppose in total about 100 mi.
If you're interested at all, I would definitely go take me for a ride. Great bike 🙂
I love the way you do your videos. Which do you like the best between this one,the interceptor, or shadow if you could only get one?

I'm think'n I was filling the tank at about the 150 mark...didn't want to run short. Does like the 65mph run. Wahoo!
Thanks for the video. Can i ask what tank pads are on the shotgun? Those are a nice fit.
Not sure... contact Jeremy at baxtercycle.com

I'll see what I can do. Good idea 🙂
What speed did you do on interstate? Did it seem too high of rpm?
