Same here. We met when we were 15 years old and it was our 15 year anniversary. No one really understands until you go through it. We have had to cancel our Wedding not postpone as everyone likes to tell you as all the dates are booked out where we were getting married. It's like it's taken something away from us. Yes technically it is postponed but to when who knows? But I do believe everything happens for a reason but it doesn't get rid of the heartbreak that we are both feeling right now. Carrie Rad You got to take this as a positive. Besides in May it was not a good time to get married because Venus is in retrograde which means it can lead to delays, divorce, and other unwanted things.
Not canceled...just postponed....your Love is real...the commitment is real. What makes a good marriage is already in you both. You're not alone.....when the celebratory day arrives (and it will) we will all celebrate with you.
The disappointment of canceled plans is so hard right now. Weddings, graduations, baby showers, birth plans, birthdays, funerals and more. We all know it's for the greater good but still is an emotional experience to mourn the changes and dreams that died.
Stay safe - as hard a decision this was - you did the right thing! Love lasts - you'll have a FABULOUS wedding when we all return to some sort of normalcy. Stay well and be happy!
Postponed to a later date. We will get back to a “normal” life one day. Maybe you could do a virtual get together on that date with as many folks as you can to celebrate life and love. All the best to you both.

If I were in this situation, I think I'd still get married in a private courthouse ceremony and have the wedding and reception on the day of the one year anniversary.

I feel for you guys! It is so heartbreaking. Our wedding is July 11, 2020. I'm from California and my husband is from the UK. We got married at the Santa Barbra Courthouse in September, so I could apply for the spouse visa. Our wedding is in England, and the way things are looking, we have decided to postpone. It sucks, it really does. We've been apart for 9 months with only a 2 week visit in between. My visa was just approved, and we are just really grateful to be self isolating together! I think what has also helped, is that we are already married. Maybe you and Alex should think about getting married alone, if possible on May 16th? Have your big wedding day later. Omg, i just saw your vid pop up in my timeline about propagating plants and caring for indoor plants. I started taking care of plants and also traveling as my two hobbies to deal with the grief of my mother's passing. Your vid interested me because I want to propagate my sister's plant which was gifted to us at my mother's funeral. Then i saw this wedding video and i was like, omg, she is marrying a Vagabrother, my fave travel vids. So between the two of you my life is complete, my travel life and my plant life 😆😁🥰

I know it's really horrible and probably feels really crushing right now, but if it gives you any glimmer of feeling blessed in this terrible situation, my state has (up until just the other day) fully banned all funerals. The bereaved couldn't gather to lay their dead to rest at all. Now they can have funerals but only with immediate family members and they must stay 6 feet apart. I'm so sorry you're going through this but you will get through it and have a beautiful wedding when it's all over.

Thank you so much for sharing this and being so real about it. We are going through the exact same thing. Our wedding is set for the middle of July and we are getting married in a Canada. We got engaged last May after being together for 9 years and we really, really want to get married. We have so many friends from different countries and different parts of Canada and we both agreed early on in the wedding planning process that the part we are most looking forward to was having everyone together. We are really torn about this decision but feel like we should make the decision to postpone very soon. We are currently reaching out to our vendors and seeing if our venue can accommodate a date around the same time in 2021. Lots of love to all those going through this difficult time. I am so sorry you guys had to go through this it sucks!!! My brother's wedding was gonna be in june and they had to cancel as well. It's sad because everyone was so excited to go and be apart of it. Especially since his the first one getting married. But at the end of the day everyone understands it's the best thing to do. And everyone is in the same place right now, scared confused and just not knowing how long this will be. But what my brother's wife said " I get to marry the man of my dreams twice and wear my wedding dress twice, that's amazing who else can say that." Since they might have a mini ceramony for the paper signing just immediate family if possible then a reception party later on the down the line. But yeah just gotta keep your head ups guys. Definitely reimagining it. I’m not getting married until 2022 however this virus has set my fiancé and I back significantly when it comes to income. It’s stressful enough to think how we are going to pay bills next month let alone the cost of a wedding. Planning became more of a burden then enjoyable and that’s not the energy we wanted surrounding our big day. Even though our wedding is farther out, we’ve decided to cancel the venue to relieve the stress of how we would possibly pay for it due to the corona virus affecting our jobs. We are looking into a courthouse wedding and intimate dinner with close family afterwards sometime that same year. Hang in there❤️

We’re in Washington State and decided to postpone our June 27th wedding. I feel super lucky that the venue and all our vendors were available on the new date we picked although we did have to postpone the wedding by essentially an entire year. I’m trying to look on the bright side like I’m just really ahead on my to do list.

Oh Carrie, my heart hurts so much for you during this time! We just had to make the difficult decision to cancel our honeymoon to Seattle given this crisis. We have our date still set for June 7, 2020 here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and are just waiting to see what the future holds for June. I just watched your wedding planning tips video cause my fiancé and i decided to start planning our wedding and we want a May 2022 wedding. And I usually like watching how other people did theirs just to get some ideas and it was sad to see you had to cancel your wedding :( I really hope luck is on your side and things start to open up so you can move forward. This isn't exactly an easy time but it is definitely for the greater good to be safe.
Our 35th anniversary is May 16 this year! We will be celebrating quietly at home 🏡 in Berkeley. We do have a trip planned late September- Barcelona and a road trip to South of France. Keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t have to cancel that but at the same time, resigned to cancelling if we have to. It will work out and 35 years from now, you will look back to this interesting time with much affection. Love to you both ❤️

I am so sorry for you but I think it is the best decision due to current scenario. There is a lot of uncertainty. The good is that you have each other and that is invaluable. In Argentina, we have to stay at home. We can only go out to the supermarket or to buy medicine and that’s all. I have known multiple people who have had to cancel and postpone their wedding and it breaks my heart. Someone I know had to cancel but she refused to let it affect her plans on getting married so they did get married, it wasn’t what they had planned but she was able to wear her dress and at the end of the day she was married.

We are going through something very similar. I’m so so sorry! We are currently waiting to see if my fiancé’s COVID-19 test will come back positive. We both said if it comes back as negative that we would see if we could still go to the courthouse during this time. With this scare, it really has helped us to see what’s really important in life. If something were to happen to him, or myself we realized that we have no rights (as a married couple). I’m just so sorry that this happened and you guys are absolutely right! I’m so sorry! We had an outbreak here at a wedding about 2 days before we went into quarantine. 18 people from the wedding infected so far. You’ve done the right thing.
We started planning our wedding last year for October 9th. My fiancé’s mom lives in Malaysia and is supposed to come. We are hoping and praying that the lockdown and travel bans are lifted and we don’t have to postpone our wedding. I’m sorry you guys had to go through this! It’s such a hard time right now.

Sorry to hear this guys. We had to cancel our wedding on April 18th. We have been planning since Sept 2018. I understand what you’re going through. Stay strong. It’s ok to be mad or disappointed. Just know that as long as you have each other, that is what matters the most.
Btw we postponed it to later in the year. A Saturday opened up. A couple happened to postpone their wedding into 2021. So it worked out. I would suggest keeping in contact with the venue and see if anyone cancels. Maybe you can be put your name on a list. We hope things change by the new wedding date. Our family was very supportive as well. Your family will be there whenever you decide to have it. We might be doing a follow up rsvp online this time when the date gets closer.

A good friend of mine was getting married in June, him and his future hubby have now postponed until 2021. I sympathize with you two that you had to cancel your wedding. As you stated a lot of people are affected by this. My college graduation was cancelled... I was sad at first but have come to accept it. I had not taken senior pictures yet and am still torn on doing so or returning my cap and gown for a refund.

With the world on pause because of the crisis, I guess it was the universe's way of this wasn't the right time. I also know that you and Alex's love is stronger than ever and unbreakable. We made it into a positibe days. @carrierad we also cancelled our weddings which was planned on May 23rd. It was so hard. We postponed it to the next year because it is very hard to get a free date during the summer period and we didn't want to get married during the autumn or winter periods. It's a very hard decision and we know what you feel. Still, keep the positivity! Everything will be fine and we'll have even a better wedding! :)
Our wedding is in Sept 2020 in Colombia 🇨🇴, we still don’t know what is going to happen, more than 50 guests already have their flights from US and Europe, most of them are excited for their first time in South America. We live in SoCal and church paperwork is getting sent from here, but now the documents are stuck in CA when they were supposed to be in Bogotá already. I have faith that everything will be ok, even if we move the date a little bit later. I'm so so sorry that you had to cancel your wedding! I imagine another difficulty of it is that not only is it emotionally devastating, but it's also financially devastating. I wish you both comfort during this difficult time. It was the right, if extremely painful, decision.
I feel for you guys! It is so heartbreaking. Our wedding is July 11, 2020. I'm from California and my husband is from the UK. We got married at the Santa Barbra Courthouse in September, so I could apply for the spouse visa. Our wedding is in England, and the way things are looking, we have decided to postpone. It sucks, it really does. We've been apart for 9 months with only a 2 week visit in between. My visa was just approved, and we are just really grateful to be self isolating together! I think what has also helped, is that we are already married. Maybe you and Alex should think about getting married alone, if possible on May 16th? Have your big wedding day later. Omg, i just saw your vid pop up in my timeline about propagating plants and caring for indoor plants. I started taking care of plants and also traveling as my two hobbies to deal with the grief of my mother's passing. Your vid interested me because I want to propagate my sister's plant which was gifted to us at my mother's funeral. I know it's really horrible and probably feels really crushing right now, but if it gives you any glimmer of feeling blessed in this terrible situation, my state has (up until just the other day) fully banned all funerals. The bereaved couldn't gather to lay their dead to rest at all. Now they can have funerals but only with immediate family members and they must stay 6 feet apart. I'm so sorry you're going through this but you will get through it and have a beautiful wedding when it's all over.

Thank you so much for sharing this and being so real about it. We are going through the exact same thing. Our wedding is set for the middle of July and we are getting married in a Canada. We got engaged last May after being together for 9 years and we really, really want to get married. We have so many friends from different countries and different parts of Canada and we both agreed early on in the wedding planning process that the part we are most looking forward to was having everyone together. We are really torn about this decision but feel like we should make the decision to postpone very soon. We are currently reaching out to our vendors and seeing if our venue can accommodate a date around the same time in 2021. Lots of love to all those going through this difficult time. I am so sorry you guys had to go through this it sucks!!! My brother's wedding was gonna be in june and they had to cancel as well. It's sad because everyone was so excited to go and be apart of it. Especially since his the first one getting married. But at the end of the day everyone understands it's the best thing to do. And everyone is in the same place right now, scared confused and just not knowing how long this will be. But what my brother's wife said " I get to marry the man of my dreams twice and wear my wedding dress twice, that's amazing who else can say that." Since they might have a mini ceramony for the paper signing just immediate family if possible then a reception party later on the down the line. But yeah just gotta keep your head ups guys. Definitely reimagining it. I’m not getting married until 2022 however this virus has set my fiancé and I back significantly when it comes to income. It’s stressful enough to think how we are going to pay bills next month let alone the cost of a wedding. Planning became more of a burden then enjoyable and that’s not the energy we wanted surrounding our big day. Even though our wedding is farther out, we’ve decided to cancel the venue to relieve the stress of how we would possibly pay for it due to the corona virus affecting our jobs. We are looking into a courthouse wedding and intimate dinner with close family afterwards sometime that same year. Hang in there❤️

We’re in Washington State and decided to postpone our June 27th wedding. I feel super lucky that the venue and all our vendors were available on the new date we picked although we did have to postpone the wedding by essentially an entire year. I’m trying to look on the bright side like I’m just really ahead on my to do list.

Aww Carrie! I am SO so sad for you both but I totally feel for you!!! In a lot of ways I was vicariously living my wedding planning with you guys. With that said, my wedding is also cancelled (was supposed to be on June 13 in my fiance's home town Ohio) due to the same reasons. Sending you both lots of love. I just watched your wedding planning tips video cause my fiancé and i decided to start planning our wedding and we want a May 2022 wedding. And I usually like watching how other people did theirs just to get some ideas and it was sad to see you had to cancel your wedding :( I really hope luck is on your side and things start to open up so you can move forward. This isn't exactly an easy time but it is definitely for the greater good to be safe.
Our 35th anniversary is May 16 this year! We will be celebrating quietly at home 🏡 in Berkeley. We do have a trip planned late September- Barcelona and a road trip to South of France. Keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t have to cancel that but at the same time, resigned to cancelling if we have to. It will work out and 35 years from now, you will look back to this interesting time with much affection. Love to you both ❤️

I am so sorry for you but I think it is the best decision due to current scenario. There is a lot of uncertainty. The good is that you have each other and that is invaluable. In Argentina, we have to stay at home. We can only go out to the supermarket or to buy medicine and that’s all. I have known multiple people who have had to cancel and postpone their wedding and it breaks my heart. Someone I know had to cancel but she refused to let it affect her plans on getting married so they did get married, it wasn’t what they had planned but she was able to wear her dress and at the end of the day she was married.

We are going through something very similar. I’m so so sorry! We are currently waiting to see if my fiancé’s COVID-19 test will come back positive. We both said if it comes back as negative that we would see if we could still go to the courthouse during this time. With this scare, it really has helped us to see what’s really important in life. If something were to happen to him, or myself we realized that we have no rights (as a married couple). I’m just so sorry that this happened and you guys are absolutely right! Sorry to hear this guys. We had to cancel our wedding on April 18th. We have been planning since Sept 2018. I understand what you’re going through. Stay strong. It’s ok to be mad or disappointed. Just know that as long as you have each other, that is what matters the most.
Btw we postponed it to later in the year. A Saturday opened up. A couple happened to postpone their wedding into 2021. So it worked out. I would suggest keeping in contact with the venue and see if anyone cancels. Maybe you can be put your name on a list. We hope things change by the new wedding date. Our family was very supportive as well. Your family will be there whenever you decide to have it. We might be doing a follow up rsvp online this time when the date gets closer.

I sympathize with you two that you had to cancel your wedding. As you stated a lot of people are affected by this. My college graduation was cancelled... I was sad at first but have come to accept it. I had not taken senior pictures yet and am still torn on doing so or returning my cap and gown for a refund.
First of all, Carrie and Alex, My Heart hurts for both of you for having to cancel your wedding. With the world on pause because of the crisis, I guess it was the universe's way of this wasn't the right time. I also know that you and Alex's love is stronger than ever and unbreakable. We made it into a positibe days. @carrierad we also cancelled our weddings which was planned on May 23rd. It was so hard. We postponed it to the next year because it is very hard to get a free date during the summer period and we didn't want to get married during the autumn or winter periods. It's a very hard decision and we know what you feel. Still, keep the positivity! Everything will be fine and we'll have even a better wedding! :)
Our wedding is in Sept 2020 in Colombia 🇨🇴, we still don’t know what is going to happen, more than 50 guests already have their flights from US and Europe, most of them are excited for their first time in South America. We live in SoCal and church paperwork is getting sent from here, but now the documents are stuck in CA when they were supposed to be in Bogotá already. I have faith that everything will be ok, even if we move the date a little bit later.
