Hello I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here. She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter and.....? ( Freja & ...? ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she cool singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I think what is most impressive to me is that Floor had only been with the band for about 9 or 10 months at the time of this concert. And while she had been performing for years in other bands, gaining mastery of a set list of songs from Nightwish and performing in front of 82000 people with the command and confidence she displayed, was really amazing.
9 months is really long time. One should be able to do that in couple of weeks. That is why they are professionals. Larnell Lewis had 48 hours including cross-atlantic flight to do a whole studio live album for Snarky Puppy. That is what i call incredible, in 9 months it had been her life for about 8 of them. And i do know what you mean, to be emotionally in the exact right place and to make it "your own", but that is why.. they are called professionals.
@@squidcaps4308 but what you might not know that 9 months before she literally had to pick most of the set in 48 hours and that included travelling from the Netherlands to the US.
It is impressive true, but lets not kid ourselves that Floor didn't already know most of the songs before hand, and Tuomas already knew her. She was the reason Annette threw her last hissy-fit and got herself kicked out, it wasn't "out of the blue" situation like that uber-cut documentary 48h would have you believe
@@squidcaps4308 But it is relatively easy for a drummer of his calibre to learn enough to wing it on a studio album with retakes and various forms of technical wizardry to help him on the We Like It Here album. Whereas Floor performed the first LIVE gig with Nightwish within 48 hours of being asked and flying from The Netherlands to the USA learning the words plus timing and phrasing for 14 songs on the way.
@@Songfugel Apparently you have insider knowledge but I go by what Floor has said over the years and that is that she did NOT know the majority of the songs.

I still have no idea how she is belting in her mixed voice that high, after the key change, for the entire last third of the song. She never once goes into head voice or falsetto. She's just belting in a mix way up there, over and over. She said, around the time of that show, that Everdream was the hardest song for her to sing. Saw them live in NYC last year, and they didn't take the key change as high as they did here in this show. In fact, I think the song started lower. It was still amazing though. Floor is unreal. Truly. One of my favorite songs for sure. They're unbelievable live.

Fantastic reactions as usual, only thought is that regularly checking out what is on that screen to your right Silas would be great to turn off that monitor, preview of your recording frame etc? Usual stuff, if that's the case don't worry what you look like. Just vibe like noones watching? :D Also if you want to know why the bulls head at Wacken or the "Rock and Roll "Horns" aren't satanic, just ask and someone will give you the rundown.... :) Keep at it folks!
Incredible as it may sound, given some of the incredible vocal agility you have seen from Floor in others songs, she says that this one - Ever Dream - is the most challenging to sing. There is a short clip Floor made a while back as part of her "Fan Friday" Q&A session on UA-cam - she talks about the difficulty and how she works to make the higher notes not come out squeaky (her word).
"most challenging..." of Nightwish repertoire for her to sing... 😉 There's probably tons and tons of other songs in this world which could be 'challenging' as well for her to sing - along... ✌️😎🇫🇮💙🎶💯💥
@@littleraven28 I'm wondering now - The Ever Dream remark is in the Fan Friday UA-cam Video with Kill Bill artwork as the screenshot, dated April 2021, something like 18 months after the release of Human:Nature. I sort of remember - but cannot find a citation or evidence - that Floor had doubted whether Shoemaker would ever be sung live because it *was* difficult to record. I wonder if not mentioning Shoemaker during the Fan Friday is evidence of this.
@@valksyvalksington6155 You are not imagining it. She did say that. IIRC and at my age I could well be quite wrong, but there were some song introductions for Human :||: Nature done by Troy and Floor, I think she explained that Shoemaker was about a person and that it was quite unlikely to be done live. . . . . . . . . .
I just ran across your channel a couple of hours ago. I am such a fan now. Best reactions on UA-cam. Binge watching now. Thanks so much. I’m delighted to see you loving the music I grew up with!

OK Silas, you've gone and done it now - expressed your admiration for Floor. So I guess it's time I share with you the following post. I don't consider myself a Nightwish fan like the majority of the folks you'll find here. I'm really a fan of Floor's and her solo projects, which, after seeing her solo performances from her appearance on the Dutch tv show Beste' Zangers solidified my fandom of Floor and she introduced me to Nightwish. These suggestions explore her pop side though you will find some metal influence in a couple of them. So, while I don't really know if this is something you want as a departure to the symphonic metal and for me to promote Floor I'm going to take the liberty of posting a selected playlist of live performances that I consider the most enjoyable for me from her catalog of solo projects. With links to mostly live performances: 2019 - Beste' Zangers Solo cover of "Shallow" (Lady Gaga) - ua-cam.com/video/M68pe4a_9zk/v-deo.html Duet cover of "Phantom of the Opera" w/ Henk Poort - ua-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/v-deo.html 2021 - solo Amsterdam Concert **You will find these are from her channel and the entire concert is there, professionally taped provided by her fans through crowdsourcing** "Storm in a Glass" - ua-cam.com/video/7ax5nSPB9t8/v-deo.html "Slow, Love, Slow" - ua-cam.com/video/bBG8GdyLYDk/v-deo.html 2022 - Singles from her 2023 released solo album. Yeah. They were the main band everyone came to see. Last band. Such a great atmosphere, and she had been innband only 9-10 moths at this point. Replaced vocalist in mid tour in USA
Quite simply Nightwish was an excellent band for 15 years. Floor was a good singer for about the same time. Then the gods of metal arranged for Tuomas to unite Nightwish and Floor. Wacken 2013 was the resulting musical explosion resonating with undiminished force for ten years now. Keep on in there with Nightwish guys.
I would suggest going back and listening to Tarja doing this song. I love Floor and what she brings to the table, but this song I prefer Tarja over Floor. I know I will probably get some hate for this comment, but there is this haunting sound to Tarja's voice and the way she sings the pauses that just takes it to another level for me.
Marko is an insanely talented male vicalist on his own right, and has been the main vocalist of Tarot since the early 80s. Please react to some amazing Nightwish songs where he is doing the main vocals like the Islander, High Hopes ( pink floyd cover), While your lips are still red etc
I'm sure that other will {or most likely already did} reccomend it but I hope that you will end up reacting to Floor's performances in Beste Zangers show
No the Bull is not Baal?. And as i'm aware is not Santanic?. The stadium is built on an old paddock which use to graize cows and the men that had it built thought to remind everyone that this was a paddack that had cows etc. Strange but novice idea.
Now I'll tell you as I tell everyone who reacts to Nightwish You should go back to the first singer's performances and check her out too from End of an Era her name is Tarja (Tarya) sugg Phantom of the Opera and yes, it is a cover of the stage play theme
I think we got another one... Welcome to Nightwish Army!

I hope this list is a good start for your journey and I hope the rest of the Nightwish Army agrees with these choices :) Thanks :)
Simply put, she's the voice and the presence of the universe. Nothing less.
Good one.
One of my faves! Saw them live in Minneapolis last year, AMAZING!!
I Really like this band! My music teacher at school turned us on to them! They just totally kick ass!!🔥🤘💥❤️😈
Before you move on with NW, you should show her the other 2 songs you did. You’re not that far in and she’ll be caught up with you. 👍🏻
Ha ha, Floor does breath, two times a week: one time on Friday, one time on Tuesday😀
There's probably tons and tons of other songs in this world which could be 'challenging' as well for her to sing - along...
✌️😎🇫🇮💙🎶💯💥
It was her most challenging Nightwish until Human:Nature.
It's replaced by what she called in concert "the ultimate song-along song" Shoemaker😂
Kind of you to say so! 👍
See in the next reacts, two songs live on Buenos Aires 2018:
- Devil and the Deep Dark Oceans
- I Want my Tears Back.
Are impressive!
Dude really nice to see somebody enjoy music!!😄
That was incredible I'm so glad to hear Sam singing again
Well done, Silas🤘. Spreading the Nightwish infection 😅. Keep on teaching as many souls as possible. Nightwish after forever 😉🤘
instant thumbs up, just for the dude enjoying himself so much, you go boi :D \m/
You 2 are Awesome
🤩👍💥💯🎼
Absolutely, you're about to expose more of this magical band to her!!! 🦉 Huh.. ✌️😹
🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
I find myself commenting on this for the second time. Floor always gets the attention, but Marko is incredible in his own right. He once said he loved singing with Floor because he didn’t have to hold back.
Good on you , spreading the Nightwish love .
Two vocal Athletes, Floor / Marco
Like 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction 🤘...
Guys, you should check out the band Suicidal Tendencies, you'll love them. I suggest to start with "Send Me Your Money", "Trip At The Brain", "You Can't Bring Me Down" or "Alone".
With links to mostly live performances:
2019 - Beste' Zangers
Solo cover of "Shallow" (Lady Gaga) - ua-cam.com/video/M68pe4a_9zk/v-deo.html
Duet cover of "Phantom of the Opera" w/ Henk Poort - ua-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/v-deo.html
2021 - solo Amsterdam Concert **You will find these are from her channel and the entire concert is there, professionally taped provided by her fans through crowdsourcing**
"Storm in a Glass" - ua-cam.com/video/7ax5nSPB9t8/v-deo.html
"Slow, Love, Slow" - ua-cam.com/video/bBG8GdyLYDk/v-deo.html
2022 - Singles from her 2023 released solo album. There are music videos of these singles but I prefer the more organic live versions. All four venues provided excellent acoustics
"Fire" - recorded at HLF8 - ua-cam.com/video/rqwHMgo_DdQ/v-deo.html
"Storm" w/orchestra - ua-cam.com/video/8dAP8Mjgh_E/v-deo.html
"Me Without You" - First public performance - ua-cam.com/video/R6LmRR-rgss/v-deo.html
"Paragon" - Live at @RadioVeronica - ua-cam.com/video/YevVBuu7hrg/v-deo.html
"Daydream" - Live at NPO Radio 2 - ua-cam.com/video/nNNs2lodBYI/v-deo.html
From the album but haven't found a suitable live version yet - The Calm - ua-cam.com/video/MX8u-kyLNvc/v-deo.html
and this is the only one I can find ua-cam.com/video/D2adj1GipMA/v-deo.html
Bonus reel - Floor sings the phonebook - ua-cam.com/video/CLUr1DLwEQg/v-deo.html
Regards,
Alivia! 🥰
Maybe it's time to meet 5 beautiful ladies in high heels and dresses playing classic heavy metal? For starters, I recommend the song Break the Wall from their earlier albums. Boasting over 70 hit singles, they won Best New Metal Band at the Metal Hammer Awards in 2018. The girls play heavy, thrash, power and prog metal, they also have some beautiful ballads - ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html
You watching her reaction to this is like me watching you both , its joyous watching through your ear & eyes expecting the face to show amazement and bingo it happens equals success
Can't believe he hasn't been introduced to The Warning.
Aliva "Whew!"
"10th Man Down" is my favorite Nightwish song, there are some great live versions on the tubes.
I think it's great young people like both of you are appreciate Great songs like this. Just keep digging and find al those great rabbit holes in music.

Yeah. They were the main band everyone came to see. Last band. Such a great atmosphere, and she had been innband only 9-10 moths at this point. Replaced vocalist in mid tour in USA
You guy are adorable..and Floor and Marco for the win
Loved it Silas. Is Alivia your sister? Or? Hope to see both of you again very soon. Much more to experience.

@@mattbailey9396 Got it!
@@Thorgrim247 👌
Quite simply Nightwish was an excellent band for 15 years. Floor was a good singer for about the same time. Then the gods of metal arranged for Tuomas to unite Nightwish and Floor. Wacken 2013 was the resulting musical explosion resonating with undiminished force for ten years now. Keep on in there with Nightwish guys.
Great reaction! I love Floor, but I love Marko just as much. ❤
Yep there great ... and Floor is just Floor👌 ..just enjoy and be a fan🤘Greetings from Amsterdam ✌
Nice reaction🇸🇪
Still a masterpiece with Floor/Nightwish...(top 3 on my list)..
Not Beyonce Sara Larsson or other 'look like' crap 🇸🇪
Floor Jansen is an Angel on Earth
One of the hardest song to sing. Floor is just among the best vocalist on planet.
The band is finished, but the floor is not. She’s from Amsterdam.
Nope, not from Amsterdam, she's from Goirle. And the band is not finished, they still carry on!
The camera focus could be put to static so it doesnt blurr out somethimes when you move. :)
👍👍😍😍🤘🤘
Floor has said this is the hardess song to sing on the set , i thought it would be Storytime but no lol
Floor stands a tad under 6-2 in bare feet....this was the 5th song of a 15 song show....the audience was an intimate little gathering of 82,000
Breathe? Floor is 6' tall and has the lungs of a deep sea diver. 😊🤘
👍👍
I would like for Alivia to see some more Nightwish..."Storytime" maybe?
Song of my self or the last ride of the day
Marko is an insanely talented male vicalist on his own right, and has been the main vocalist of Tarot since the early 80s. Please react to some amazing Nightwish songs where he is doing the main vocals like the Islander, High Hopes ( pink floyd cover), While your lips are still red etc
Just FYI - she usually breathes on Tuesdays.
😂😅
have your friend react to Marko doing the Islander live at Tampere. thanks for the reacts from Colorado
I'm sure that other will {or most likely already did} reccomend it but I hope that you will end up reacting to Floor's performances in Beste Zangers show
The cute one's back! (No offense intended, Silas.)
No the Bull is not Baal?. And as i'm aware is not Santanic?. The stadium is built on an old paddock which use to graize cows and the men that had it built thought to remind everyone that this was a paddack that had cows etc. Strange but novice idea.
Very good bad have listen to Nosie😊
If you would like to react to an artist you might not have heard of before, I recommend Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold!
Hellfest 22 Shoemaker. Hello.
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done both and where is dad ? Threesome 😂
😊🇫🇮💙🪄🎼✨💯🤘
Silas
If you like nightwish you have to try Rammstein Du hast Paris
Now I'll tell you as I tell everyone who reacts to Nightwish You should go back to the first singer's performances and check her out too from End of an Era her name is Tarja (Tarya) sugg Phantom of the Opera and yes, it is a cover of the stage play theme
olivia broken i am broken its oliv or alivia ssory women men
Sorry, don't even go there. Celine Dijon sounds like whining cat compare to Floor Jansen. Otherwise keep up the good work.
