Never have I seen window wells that big! Mine are about 2 1/2' deep, and about 3' wide. I just use my Greenworks battery leaf blower to blow them out,and then hoover them up with my 20" Stihl battery mower.😄
I have my grandfathers corded Black and Decker Leafhog blower Vac that I use at my grandmothers house. It works great and mulched the leaves up well. But this one seems like it does way better mulching the leaves up. Very impressive
Got this whole kit for $300. Came with a harness and 2 40 volt batteries. It has some cons, like the weight distribution being uneven and causing fatigue, jamming (a lot of it) if you suck up the leaves too fast, difficulty removing the bag to dump the mulch (can get jammed). Overall it’s meh, gets the job done after some frustrations, I think there are better options out there.
I was just raking leaves yesterday and started to consider this, the cost is my only apprehension. $369 tool only crazy to me since its essentially the $150 blower with a blade and a bag.
It commonly goes on sale on dto, 200-250 for the kit. So you get 2 4ah batteries included, not that they last long on this. This thing is a different tool with my 7.5ah vs the included 4's
It was great my friend. Perfect and professional as always. One question, if a stone enters during suction, will it not damage the machine's propeller? 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thanks, that's a good question. I haven't picked up a stone yet and would say the suction isn't powerful enough to lift one up. If it did, then yes it would likely jam and potentially be an issue.
I think so too. Therefore, you should be careful and use it in a place where you are sure of the absence of stones and similar things. Thankful@@MarkThomasBuilder
I was looking at this. I have other 40v lawn tools and really want a leaf vacuum. As much as this looks nice I am not sure about the $500 CAD price tag when a corded leaf vac is like $150 - $200.
Thanks ! Great review ! I have a vacuum/mulcher from Ryobi, but the bag has become difficult to detach from the body of the unit when it’s time to dump the mulched leaves. I have to pry it off with a screwdriver. I am considering buying this product, but I need to know if the detachment problem exists with this product or not …Thanks for input !
I have this as a dedicated vacuum. The blower isn't the greatest and the assembly is very annoying to swap. Personally I think their best bet would of been a gen 2 vac attack, as the rotating blade gets stuck way too easily with only the smallest of debris.
I have a hard time removing the bag after use, dirt and clippings seem to block turning the knob. In order to remove the bag, I need to spend 15 to 20 minutes knocking the clipping out of the unit. Do you know a faster way?
Mr. Mark Thomas! Really good Review my friend! Ryobi is stepping up their game of late. This looks to be a good product, albeit a little unorthodox looking. I owned briefly, they’re top of the line ‘Whisper Series’ 40 Volt blower and really liked it, save for three concerns: Cruise control would not stay on ‘High’ speed, and it was very tippy when sat down on the ground ( minor nit I realize ) but despite getting two 4.0 Ah batteries with the kit, they are the weak link. Judicious use of ‘Turbo’ would only yield around the same runtime you experienced in your Video, Mark. And the batteries are two big to carry on your person. I liked the Ryobi, even over the EGO I ended up keeping, as it was smooth and quiet, and really moved leaves out of my diptych, especially on Turbo. Ryobi needs to upgrade their 40 Volt batteries, as these tools deserve better batteries. I get about 25-27 minutes MAX, from the 5.0 Ah 56 Volt Ego. I still liked the Ryobi, but for pure runtime and performance ( 765 CFM ) the EGO is hard to beat. Stay safe everyone! 👍✌🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing your insights, George! I definitely respect your opinion. I haven't had a chance to try Ego yet, but will probably start of with one of their blowers. The runtime you mentioned is impressive.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Thanks Mark, and You’re Welcome! Shucks, that is High praise coming from you! Feeling is mutual. 😊 Just to be clear, for You and the Community; The Run times I quoted for the EGO, were timed with my countdown bezel of my watch, and so there may be a +/- 30 second deviation. And I stressed MAX, which involved 30-40 % use of Turbo, I’m guessing? If I use Turbo over half the time, it would be more like 23-25 minutes or so, and of course, YMMV, as well as different conditions will effect runtimes. I meant to add, the fast charger that came with the Ryobi Whisper Series blower, was a good unit, and had a fan, and charged the 4.0 40 Volt batteries rather quickly. Larger Ah batteries are available, but that just adds to the cost. So Ryobi, if You’re ‘listening,’ please update your batteries! Best to You Mark and the Community! 👍✌🇺🇸
OMG I love the pointer! I appreciate the video, because it's helped me know NOT to buy it. The suction power seems barely acceptable on dry leaves, so not ready for wet leaves or any more demanding task.
Haha, thanks, glad you like the pointer. This blower is handy, if the conditions are right. Someday I may feature a gas blower vac, just to see a comparision.
It's really designed for picking up dry leaves. I think it would jam on pine needles. You may have to look at a gas version to pick up the heavier items.
how do you clear jams. I can't figure out how to dis assemble it as my handy man assembled it. I need to clear a jam and I can't unsnap the hose. What's the secret
I don't have it in front of me to tell you exactly how, since I haven't used it lately. It does take some effort to turn the knob and I can't remember if you have to pull the knob up or not while turning.
I just bought it today. I found the shoulder strap awkward and didn’t really support the device while vacuuming. Is there you would recommend over this one?
I've tested a Sunjoe one that has wheels on the end which is nice when vacuuming curbs. The performance seems a little less, due to the smaller battery. Worx makes one but it's corded, last I knew. If you move up into a gas unit, then ECHO and Stihl make one, but I haven't tested it yet to see how it performs.
I'd like to see them be able to pulverize the items in the window well without jamming. If you know the limitations, you can still get a lot done with it.
@@MarkThomasBuilder At least they have metal blades now... but still, for the price... though it does come with 2 batteries. I have a small yard so I just went with the $100 Toro corded.
Is this something that fits your needs? What else would you like to know about it?
I like your man-made cursor..and great review!

This mulches them very well, but struggles on wet leaves. It's great if the leaves are dry.
Yea so does my grandfathers it the fan gets clogged with wet leaves and I have to put my hands in there and clean it out
Thanks for the great video!
My pleasure!
This is a well-done review. Thanks.
You bet, thanks!
Great review. And amazing post production techniques on that red pointer… 😂
Thank you, glad to hear it!🙌
Great tutorial. Thanks.
Thank you I was commissioned to get one to keep leaves from our pool since blower would put them in the pool nice to label up .. I can relate
Great review…thanks
You're welcome!

Very detailed. Thanks.
Great review !!
Thank you! 👍
Great video. Can the bag be left open or removed safely to allow mulched leaves to simply drop to the ground?
Yes the leaves do not have to go into the bag
It makes a big mess but yes
Great stuff
Great video! Have you used the older Vac Attack mulcher? If so, how does the mulching ability compare?
No I haven't tried the other one. This one mulches it pretty fine compared to a gas ECHO one I recently tried.
I was just raking leaves yesterday and started to consider this, the cost is my only apprehension. $369 tool only crazy to me since its essentially the $150 blower with a blade and a bag.
It was more expensive that what I though too. It works well on dry leaves. It mulches them down more than other brands.

It's a struggle at times to spin the knob when it jams. I'd like to see a new updated version.

I wish there was an easier way to remove the bag. It almost needs a different size knob or something. Wish I had a better solution.

Could you use the vacuum to clean out rose petal debris from 1" granite rock - how to protect the mulch blade from sucking up the rock?
If you hover this over the rose petals, it will quickly pick them up and not the rock. It's not that powerful to pick up rocks or pebbles.
Is it good about not sucking up rocks? like gravel in a driveway…
The link you included for the item in Home. Depot does not have the backpack attachment. Do you have a link for one WITH the backpack?
Thanks for letting me know. Here's a new link. I'll update it on the video too. homedepot.sjv.io/anK9oj
I have all 18 volt ryobi. Is there an 18 volt?
Have you compared this to the Ryobi vacuum leaf Mulcher with the Much larger capacity bag below?
No I haven't, but heard this one is an upgrade.
How does it do if it sucks up rocks/sticks and not breaking?
It jams fairly easy, requiring a manual clearing of the turbines.
How does it handle acorns?
It doesn't
Would this work picking up pine needles? I assume but maybe not

How much does the blower cost without the batteries 🔋 and charger
I don't think they offer it as a tool-only yet.
Nice video, other than the distraction of the pointer.
Why can't we get these in the UK ?????

$469 for the kit, including the 2 batteries and rapid charger.
Hey Mark is this a new blower
Yes, the new 40 V version just introduced this year.
Is there new videos mark
Yes, I'm working on another right now. Stay tuned.
What model number is this?
RY404150 If you want to see more details, I provided a link in the video description.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Thanks.
This model is not available in europe.
I had the older version and it broke in a couple weeks of light duty. This one is twice the money and seemingly still not great... just not great.
