I bought a car 2nd hand and it turns out the previous owner snipped all the wires on the front passenger door. Now, it would be an easy fix matching the colors however im colorblind so ive been struggling with this for the past 4 months now.
Its only a small bolt on the door stop to let you swing the door more than 45 degrees. Also, taking the plastic off the kick at side panel, will give you another plug in. Disconnect and push wires through hole at car side. With wiring in hand, go to bench and resolder. Then reinstall. Alot easier to heat shrink tube.
Question, that white part at 2:11 thats in your hand, how do you disconnect that from the vehicle? Trying to do that on mine right now and its being a bugger. I dont want to break it. Thanks!
If I remember correctly I think there were a couple of tabs on it that you squeeze together, doing that should release it from the door for you. Hope this helps you out.
I can visibly see that I have a broken wire going from the wiring to my driver side door motor window motor and so I'm thinking that s*** if I could just replace this one little wire module it'll be great I'll be set. ty
Hi, great video! Would this loose wire be the same issue if all passengers windows don't work? The driver window rolls up and down with out any issues at all. Thanks!
That looks like a b***ch to get to that's why I'm hesitating. I know for sure it's not the window switch, I remember when I lost power, it had come back, I tried moving the wires in the door and it felt like it was just a loose connection somewhere. No indication it was the motor, no strange noises. Fuses are all fine so there's no power to the switch. I didn't know you could pull those wires out further by removing the clip. Thanks so much I'm going to tackle it tomorrow. I've joined other wires and fixed stuff in the house and I've got shrink wrap and insulated sleeves so I'm hoping I can find the culprit!
It is not that bad of a repair (on this vehicle). This is a very common issue to have a wire brake in between the door and body of a car like this. Hope the video helps you out.
the car locked me out with the keys in the ignition for the second time today. Now I'm waiting for someone to bring me a spare key 😅 when opening and closing the door, the lock keeps randomly engaging
Thank you for watching our auto repair video that shows you how to fix a broken car door wire. Yes, while this repair is demonstrated on a Jeep, it can be applied to any vehicle. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day!

If you fix that broken wire you should be back in business.

It might be the issue.
Thank you!!!!!
You're welcome!
Mine is broken where it goes into the connector clip, does anyone know how i can fix that
Depending on where it is broke you might have to repin it.
@@HomeownerRepair i think that's what i need to do, i think it came off a silver cap at the end of the wire that goes into one of the holes
do you know what gauge them wires are
I am not sure of the exact gauge of these.
What does the black wire do I'm having same issue what size connector do I use
I am not exactly sure where this circuit leads to. There may be a wire diagram online that shows where it goes.
I have a 97 mustang, when it's cold outside and I start it up the wipers come for a cycle. any idea what could fix that? everything else is great.
Wonder if there is a short in the wiper switch.
Hello so I wanted to know that my rear door speaker not getting good power sound very low I can bearly hear it
If there is sound to it, make sure the volume is up on the radio to that speaker and it didn't get turned down somehow.
My vehicle is a 2011 HHR Chevy four-door the back door to the right the wires are missing
Thanks for watching. Not sure how the wiring is supposed to be on that vehicle.
How come you didnt solder? I think I have the same issue but every other video mentions soldering it
You can solder it. These connectors work great and make for a strong connection too.
Soldering is a bad idea as repeated motion will jar apart any solder joint. Always crimp and use shrink tube !

I would start by replacing the battery in the key FOB. If it is loosing power it may cause the issue you are describing. Hope this helps you out.
"The Car Door" is a JEEP ...

Why not soder it.
You can do that too.
You can't soder it and shrink rap.
You can do that also. It is another way to make this repair.
Buy a new one 🤦🏻♀️
This is a common issue to have happen on older vehicles in general.
