😀 About VideoShowMeHow

⏩ Where did this start?
I really enjoy tinkering with different projects - they usually require a whole bunch of research and learning along the way. It's satisfying on doing a thing and standing back and going 'Yeah! Totally did that!'. I had a bunch of mates asking 'how did you know how to do that?' and 'I couldn't never do that myself so I thought; I need to start something where I can help others that might be thinking the same thing :)
⏩ What will you find here?
The purpose is simply to make these videos as top quality and helpful as I can. They will always be free, there's ZERO agenda and the only motive is to try and upload what I would want to watch to help with that particular project. I'm also keen to keep building this little community and will try to answer all questions when asked - fire away :)
⏩ What's with the gloves?
Not after any UA-cam fame here which is why I'm not in the vids - they're not about me they're about the how-to! I used the gloves for the first couple of projects I filmed which just happened to be messy ones and it kinda just became a thing. Plus adds a little more personality I guess :)
New videos are being uploaded regularly so if there's something you'd like to see, have Questions and/or Comments drop me a line.
Cheers guys.

I can't believe how these new cars are just held together with clips and screws, be crazy not to get a bar installed.
Great video clear information 👌
You have taken the mystery out of installing a bar. I think people will now know if they are able to install one themselves or not. Also the mystery of the broken foot. Thanks for putting your body on line, another great video.
Argh. Where was this video 5 days ago.
You make it look so easy I could have installed it myself and saved $600.
Great video as always mate. Keep ‘em coming.
Arrg ah well
Definitely no hoop is the go. Especially with how sexy the dmax front already is designed. Keep that mean look and still have the protection of a bar. I’m currently looking at the ambush bars for mine when it comes but we’ll see what happens because this one is mint 👌👌.
Yeah def love the lights etc on the front end of these
Love this style and reckon this would be plenty for my needs. Thanks so much for these videos, love how thorough you are going through each step.
Cheers!
This video is definitely encouraging to give it a go yourself. Personally im more a fan of the hoops, either way this video has helped heaps
I managed to score myself one of these bars! I'm so excited to give it a crack once it arrives using your vid as a guide. I'd also just like to say a big thanks on behalf of the entire VSMH community. Your videos are informative and of great quality and all your efforts are appreciated greatly :)
Thanks 👍
Can i ask how much the bar was Z T?? Im also looking at one.
@@jakerichardson8881 I paid $1140 including delivery. Couldn't find it on the Cane Toad Equipment website but they have an ebay store that I bought it off
mine arrived today same thing ebay store
@@jakerichardson8881 Mine has some scratches on it unfortunately. I contacted them and they told me they'd refund $50 so I could go and buy some paint and respray it myself....
Lookin good mate. Keep up the great vids.
Well that didn't look as hard as I expected!
Had my DMax is May 2021 and absolutely love it. Next mod is to install 40” light bar
great video mate, very easy to follow with clear instructions.
A great video, the new bar looks OEM and video detail was exceptional. It appears you did not use the additional cushioning edge strip you showed earlier, I think it would have made the side look better at the bar interface to the mudguard arch strip. A big fat rubber all around the top of the bar would fill the gaps really well. Even though the side of the bullbar to the mudguard at the side aligns well, the gap looks a little large. The VSMH in the bar grill is a really nice touch.
Thanks mate 👍 yes it's a balance between the gap, really gotta have 10-20mm for vibration particularly across proper corrugations. Have tried a few different edges now, you can see on the lights vid today, just have the side gap for the.moment reckon looks the goods
As an Auto Mechanical Engineer and a career in many fields, doesn't make me an expert, we all should know what an expert is? For whom believes or thinks that they know every but a knower of nothing, meet many of them, LOL. Definitely an EXCELLANT and informative break down and refitment vid. BUT! If you are going to fit a Winch Bar because to go through this process, why was not a WINCH fitted at the same time as it shouldn't be an afterthought considering fact of again "removal" required. As to you mentioning Glass House Mountain "Tracks" I know that area... Also, using the chair was a good idea, I have one better!! Do you have a floor jack, Remove the Lift Plate, make a "H" frame with attachable arms " to fit any Bull Bar" it can be bolted to the jack. then you can position the bar with ease. Make this and you will have more friends. LOL. Considering I made one for a mate some long time ago and in his opinion / great Idea. I was thinking of a Patent. Anyone can do anything creative. Like my father use to say /upstairs for thinking / downstairs for dancing and in-between your problem .... Cheers
Probably due to the fact not everyone can afford 6-7 grand in one go with a bullbar and winch, I highly doubt there would be much difference, or else they wouldn’t put them on after if it could potentially effect the vehicle in the future
Great work Adam
Great video
sic! love it
Hey mate who makes that bill bar. I like the shape and layout. Do they make one similar for the Ford Ranger.?
Hey, was a prototype from CaneToad Equipment, I think they sell them now though worth a look.. I'll find a link and update the description
How do you find the cane toad bullbar? I'm in the market for one and have just stumbled across their hooped design one.
Yeah still running it, it copped it on the cape trip but still good, you'll see more of it in the upcoming winch refresh vid
Hey mate loving the dmax videos! do you have a link for the all in one fog lights?
Hey mate, no unfortunately came with the bar
What are you doing with the factory plastic bar?
For sale, one blue front bar, never been on the beach, one lady owner, highway KMs only.. 😁
@@VideoShowMeHow wish I live closer, I would of bought off you.
Another great video. Can I ask you what your thoughts are on the Dpchipx you fitted. Thanks, Shane.
Hey mate cheers 👍 Yeah still a fan, has made a good difference to driveability. Still have the follow up vid to release with findings etc (waiting for trailer to get back to so I can do the last bit of the vid!!)
@@VideoShowMeHow Thanks, I'm considering getting one before we do our big trip with caravan.
Hi whats a rough price for a bar like that please
Hey Adam, any reason why you went for just the one recovery point, other than cost? I'm picking up a pair tomorrow, and I've already got a Maxtrax static rope I can use as an equalizer if I need to. Just keen to know your perspective. Cheers mate.
Hey, one would be fine, I just had access to purchase at the time from a guy on the forum. Am planning on grabbing another though as gives more recovery options 👍
@@VideoShowMeHow nice. Cheers mate.
Is this bull bar available yet too the public?
Looks good, but no bar for DMax on the CaneToad site, I guess with the VSMH initials it's a custom build?
Yes, this isn't currently for sale, but may be in the near future.. will update the vid with the details if it does
Check out the Offroad Animal Predator bar. As far as I can see, it's almost identical.
@@Shifty_Skins
$3500 plus fitting? 😂
I don't know if your still reading these comments but if you are how have the lights been going with the side brackets removed. I recently fitted a full bumper replacement bar and had to remove those black brackets on the sides of the headlights that attach to the bottom. I found that the lights are a little wobbly after removing them. I remembered this video and came back to it to see you also removed yours. Was removing the side light brackets something you were concerned about or has everything been fine?
Hi there, yes have added light brackets on the sides just after the install, I'd recommend adding some. If the bar you got didn't include them you could make up a pair pretty easy, just need some flat alloy/1.6 gal, then 2 small bends and couple of nut and bolts.
@@VideoShowMeHow thanks for the reply. Going to have to look into doing something about it then. Little annoying
@@zarajoe1 yeah, over time would no doubt stress the headlights and also likely run on that back corner imo
@@VideoShowMeHow yeah noticed the light is now resting on on the quarter panel. Making a bracket should be easy enough fitting it without removing the bar is going to be a bit of fun
Just wondering if anyone has a long term update on these bars? They appear to be a Chinese bar that are sold under several different brands with minor changes between brands?
So far so good on mine, survived the cape trip a ok, have been using the winch as well. (a fair bit on that trip)
@@VideoShowMeHow Thanks for update mate. How long is the slim cutout in the middle of the bar? Just wondering if a 22" slim LED light bar would fit in there? How is the powder coated finish holding up? Any surface rust marks near welds etc. ?
What brand bull bar is this?
Hey mate, Great bar any update if Cane Toad have this in engineering and will be bringing it to market?
No update since I checked last, worth dropping them a note
Looks good I’m also looking at one for my new dmax. I saw the caravan that you tow with the dmax can I ask what size it is? I have ordered one for delivery end of 2022. Keep the videos coming
It's a 24ft, about 2.8 t
Pity its not for sale?
Some great vids VSMH ;) Gee i hope they bring out a bar for the 2022 MUX. The price for the bars are great. Is it a strong bar compared to other similar bar?
Same material, good welds etc, I'm happy with it and love the tucked design :) Have a few extras to bolt on shortly, selections have been made, vids underway 😁😉
What bar is that one
G'day, where can I buy that bar.
And how much, looks perfect
Was a prototype mate, will update if he starts selling
Hey mate, where did you get the LED lights from?
In the bar? They came with
@@VideoShowMeHow ahh ok cool, sorry I thought you got upgraded LED lights, all good, thanks for the vid I am doing my bar this weekend and have some notes taken :)
How did you coat the sensors?
The sensor housing just couple of light sprays with matt black. Am going to be powder coating the bar so leaving them blue. Have painted the rear sensors and no issues
It's pronounce as E-sue-zoo and not I-zoo-zoo. It's Japanese, alright. That's a very cool looking bumper, however without winch and light bar it kinda look naked.
Awesome video champ. But that’s not my idea of a bullbar sorry.
Btw what did you do to your foot?
I hope you didn’t hurt it doing this video lol
Nah, broke it a month ago
@@VideoShowMeHow hope it heals quickly 😊
What's your idea of a bullbar..?
@@zt1243 my idea of a bullbar is something that stops the front end of my ute getting pushed in buy a kangaroo. What they built for
You usally dont have any friends when you need to work on car.only when its your shout at the bar.!!.
