- India's Mirabai Chanu clinched a historic Silver medal on the morning after the Opening Ceremony in Tokyo, giving her country the first medal at the Games. This was also India's first medal in the sport of weightlifting since the year 2000 when Karnam Malleswari won Bronze in Sydney.

Sadly, it's going to take years ! Just like northeasterns are racially abused in mainland india & called chinkis & momos so are people with non-mongloid features racially abused in northeast. Infact almost all the states have a term like mayang in Manipur, Vai in Mizoram, Haring in Arunachal Pradesh, Wansa in Tripura, etc. Racism is equally prevalent in northeast too.
