This Song reminds me of years ago..... Back in the 70's..... I have so many memories, some that I forgot about, but remembered,,... Kind of Bitter Sweet,, I don't no why it took me so long to remember,i would see this person over a 20 something year span, or longer,... & then one day it clicked.. it is so crazy, I still can't figure it out... But I Love It, one day I guess it will all come together,it is like a puzzle...
I have always loved this song ever since I first heard it and it gained more popularity in the film every witch way but loose starring Clint Eastwood..with Clyde.
FREEBIRD6111 I don’t care for a lot of the newer music, looking back they said the same thing about Hank Jr. every era has some real keepers this is one of them.
Yes, a great song, and Mel Tillis is so good, makes it sound easy... His voice is like a cool breeze on a hot, humid summer day in the South. Csn only imagine how this guy must have had women digging him and his voice his whole life.

this song inspired me to quit using drugs and start my own chain of restaurants in tooscon, I want to thank mr clint eastwood and his boy clyde for making this beautiful tune
@yvesami You hit that right on the head of the nail. Country sure did take a turn in the late 70's to early 80's. George Strait and Randy Travis had a great deal to do with what you are talking about.
When country music was still country (especially the Bakersfield sound) and when Clint Eastwood was making movies...although Clint still does from time to time.
He said it was because he knew what the words were going to be. He got to where he seldom stuttered during live shows because he had all of his lines memorized.
Oh, just wanted to say one thing though: back when this song came out, nobody thought it was particularly 'classic country'. In fact it had what people thought of at the time as a 'newfangled' or 'countrypolitan' sound. The chord changes, for instance, were kind of modern for C&W of that era. Just a little food for thought...
Damn,I love this sing.Good old days, the last time,i've heard pure country music.
love this,a brilliant film, clint and clyde what a team.
I've just watched it on TV here in Ireland 🇮🇪. 👍 Classic.
UA-cam is the closest thing we have to a time machine. This one took me way back....and caused a tear or two!
I'm 17 and my favorite music has been classic country since I was too young to know their names. Love this song! One of my favorites!

Mel sang it best for “Any Which Way but Loose”.
Now this is real Country music!
I wish this version had been released, as a single, back in the day!
Every Which Way But Lose is sung by Eddie Rabbit
@@coltayers9039 I know ...
What I am stating, is Mel sang the best version of "Take Me Down To Tuscon", for the "Every Which Way But Loose" Album.
@@d.vaughn8990 Oh! Now I get it! The album is named after the song, " Every Which Way But Lose" but the movie is named after the song.
@@d.vaughn8990 The songs from Mel Tillis are one of the best songs I have ever heard.
Take care Mel. Gonna miss your music. This one has quite the special place in my heart Signed a fan from Texas 😢

yvesami This version is so much more country sounding than the original, and even though it’s less orchestral it still manages to sound prettier.
