It’s funny. It the song that put them on the map and 30+ years later they still brought the goods as the final song after a 3 hour show. They were amazing.
Just re-watched this reaction. The performance by Rush is one of my favorites. Just Amazing. I have to say though that your reaction was on par with their performance. Well done Rory. I loved how you reacted to the differences in this performance vs the studio version.
My friend. I’m so glad you loved it! It’s my favourite from the greatest band of all time. On and off the stage. Can you imagine making that kind of music with your best friends like they are? I’d do it for free. I have known for over 40 years that these guys are so special. So happy you loved it!
Rory, I have a friend named Tom who is an extreme audiophile. He can name twenty bands for every one I can name, and he’s forgotten thirty more. He came to me a couple of years ago and said “Rush is great, but I can’t afford to go premium vinyl on everything. As my most ardent Rush-head, what do you recommend as the best?” I pointed him to Time Machine - Live in Cleveland. The entire setlist was amazing, but this was the track in particular that brings so many people that joy of discovery. Your reaction at 2:49 is why I watch so many of these videos. Thank you.
That was absolutely insane!!! They were hitting on all effin’ cylinders and that is an example of three becoming one. Never heard such an incredible live version of that track. Spot on reaction!!
3 guys in their late 50's killing a song they wrote when they were 20ish. Not many bands have done that and less could pull it off. Awesome reaction! I was surprised you hadn't done this one before to be honest!
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this reaction since you first listened to Tom Sawyer! Worth the wait, keep the Rush reactions coming. Rush is simply the best!
I highly recommend you check out Anesthetize live by Porcupine Tree. The first guitar solo is written by Alex Lifeson and their drummer, was Neil Peart’s favorite modern drummer. Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson is one of the richest and most expansive music rabbit holes to fall down ever.
Saw them in a small theater in Detroit fifteenth row tickets under ten bucks a seat. No one standing in front of you in those days. Was working a block away from the theater went to a lot of concerts for under ten bucks. Iggy, David Bowie. The James gang with Joe Walsh. Everyone played there one of my favorite venues the Masonic Temple. Went to more concerts there than I could count.
The only time I really didn't want to hear this song was at a RUSH concert because you knew it was the end of another amazing live show as this was their closer. I've been to many shows and each one was always unique in their own way. This particular video is one of UA-cam's seminal "must see" clips for music reaction channels so it was only a matter of time you would react to it as your viewers just need that itch scratched. I agree that Lerxst just killed it showing that age and arthritis are only problems for mortals like us. So yeah, Just Great indeed... much like your reaction as usual!
That was incredible!! The bass awesome bass and guitar and drums!! Another band that sounds awesome live!!!! Thank You for sharing this awesome video that was Rockin. 😊💓🤘✌️🔥Thank You Rory and Liz awesome reaction!! Tearing it up!!
Knew you'd love it. Now do their best live performance I've ever seen. The By-Tor and the Snowdog medley from the Exit Stage Left tour. Complete Alex domination. In their prime and a complete crusher. Go for it Rory.
Appreciate it. Seen them 43 times starting with that tour. Lots of great live stuff out there but there is something about that performance that still blows my mind when I see it.
@@bryanhaynes6742 - This was (sort of) my third concert, as I started with the Hemispheres Tour. I say"sort of" because, as far as I'm aware (or can recall) we didn't get the Moving Pictures Tour, in the UK. We got the 'Exit Stage Left Tour', a few months later. The setlist was similar - we did get this epic medley - but there were probably some things we missed. That said, we got the bonus of 'Subdivisions', from their "upcoming album", which was a huge thrill. All that said, "43 times"... I can't come close to matching that. Wonderful! 👍🏽
I remember having great fun watching you go absolutely APESHIT the first time you heard this in the studio version several months ago--cool it still gets the same sort of reaction live. Standing O, indeed!
What can be said. 3 Virtuoso musicians at 60 years old doing an encore after a 3 hour concert. Yea. They are masters. Greatness on display. A total must watch.
What a song! I just stumbled across your channel and out of all the reaction UA-cam channels I’ve seen, yours is by far the best! You give way more insight and emotion than any one else on here! Keep up the great work man.
Cleveland radio station WMMS is credited for breaking Rush in the US. (plus numerous other bands) Back then it was known as an AOR (album oriented radio) station. Now it sucks just like all programmed radio.
I really enjoyed this and especially Neil's reacton at the end. It really gives you an idea that he really could be a goofball as much as the rest of them. :) They really were a unit, a team and a brotherhood.
Now that you have been sufficiently indoctrinated into the Rush cult following and have reacted to many of their live performances, there is another live reaction you must do, and that is to one called "Best Intro Ever". It is a medley made of intros taken from the first song on each of their first 7 albums and culminates with "Spirit of Radio". it is epic! ua-cam.com/video/YSToKcbWz1k/v-deo.html
Three guys in their 50s ending a three hour concert they are truly working men !
Says hold on and then can’t bring himself to stop the video 😂
Not bad for three geezers 😂. Beautiful ❤️

I agree Rory, there are no words!!🔥🔥🔥
One of the greatest live performances ever.
I miss them Three Travelers, Men of Willowdale. 💔
Hey there buddy, had to come back and revisit your reaction! Hope life and summer is and treating you well.
From west coast Canada 🇨🇦, peace.
I was at this show in Cleveland for free. Center
Even in their late 50s Rush stands atop the summit of rock music. This performance is one of their greatest!
Rory.....u are the best at Rush reactions❤
ya standing o ....thats right
3 talented rock gods
IMO, the greatest live performance they ever did. Epic!
i fucking agree❤

This is what made Rush one of the best live bands ever , they could do some like Natural Science, Tom Sawer , then Meat and potato rock like this ,
I was there \m/
This performance defines Rush: 3 hardworking musicians each giving 110%
🔥🔥🔥🚀
monster performance - thanks for react
great reaction mate,i get chills when i hear this.
💥 Legends 🔥
Rush Best Band Ever
Well it's about time you saw that!! :) It rips, baby! Rush rocks!! Wooo!!

Incredibleness lol. Totally agree 🇬🇧
Kings!
This will forever be my favorite version of Working Man! Your reaction is forever my reaction, every time I watch this. 🤘🤯🔥😀
Breathless
so great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably my favourite reaction of all time.
Finally! I’ve been waiting for this reaction since you first listened to Tom Sawyer! Worth the wait, keep the Rush reactions coming. Rush is simply the best!
I was there. Floor on Geddy's side. Incredible show and so happy I can watch and relive it (to an extent). One of my 20 Rush shows.
I’d like to see your reaction to bytor and the snowdog medley live in 81 ( long version)

Not only great concerts in Detroit, we had great radio. I had no idea how lucky I was with CKLW, WRIF, WWWW, etc.
@@itzel1735 Did you listen to WABX . When they got new albums they would play the whole record in the late sixties ?
@@johnwarner6858 yes, I just couldn’t think of the call letters.

Hell even if Rory doesn't i WILL, lol. Sounds banger, thanks!
Yes, absolutely! The Stickhits remaster is probably the best version to watch, in my opinion.

Loved the standing O, Rory!! If that track doesn't make someone a RUSH fan, then they are not a music fan!!
You're absolutely correct when you said "too much epicness!" The first time I saw that I was dumbstruck as you are now! just plain old WOW!

I got to see them live when they were in their 30s. Pure awesomeness!! It never gets old hearing and watching them!

Better than the studio version IMO. If I remember correctly the studio version was recorded before Neil was in the band.
I really enjoyed this and especially Neil's reacton at the end. It really gives you an idea that he really could be a goofball as much as the rest of them. :) They really were a unit, a team and a brotherhood.
😎 thanks always
I didn’t hear one drum beat until the grand finale. 😂.
LIZZZZZZ Thank you Liz for all your requests ! Huge Rush fan and you request a lot of great songs. Thank you Rory too haha !
u very welcome......rory is the best @ Rush❤reactions
You must do freewill from same concert
Time Machine tour 2010
And that’s how they end a 3-hour show. Can you imagine having that much energy left to end like that? Amazing!
no better live rock band if you ask me
The Regee was added extra for this live show
I think it might be from the Time Machine tour (2011-2012 or so)...
At the end of a 3 hpur show in their 50s....
Alex playing that with arthritic fingers......
Try YYZ live in Rio

Yeah it’s not describable. Even educated rock fans just have to see it to believe it. What a career….🤯
Rock! Baby! Rock!
