Thanks bro! I’ll have more coming up very soon, just waiting for a new Mac. Editing is really slow because of my old comp. But I have a lot of new stuff ready to upload soon
Alot of the h22 tri-y header companys say you have to use steel oil pan or it'll rub on the aluminum oil pan..looks like you didn't have any issues on your prelude? Does it touch the oil pan?
No sir- no oil pan rubbing issues! There’s plenty of clearance but just keep in mind that they may have different versions of it, maybe they’ve revised it
Hey Jared- sorry for the late reply. Best thing is take it a step at a time. Do the research before you tear your car apart so you can do it right the first time. Look up videos, and car forums! For diys
didnt get to see your piping sizes after install. So the header is a 2.5 collector. What was the rest of the piping/cat size all the way to the exhaust? Is it "bottle necked"?
And also I bought an invidia q300 exhaust system and I am looking to get some headers possibly the plm. But I also wanted to stay with a cat to pass emissions, do you have any recommendations of how I should go about it? I kinda don’t have much guidance
I still have ps and ac. You’re going to have to do what I did, or just have a shop weld the cat back on or buy a high flow cat ( not a test pipe). But I’d recommend sticking with the oem cat since you’re concerned about passing emissions. The most important thing is find a good reputable shop that can install / weld the cat and flex pipe or install the header and whatever else is needed. Also google prelude Tri y header install and you’ll see a few threads of how other folks did it. Plm is def not a direct bolt on so it’ll give you an idea of what you’ll have to do ( similar to my vid). But a good shop that knows what they’re doing should take care of it just fine. By the way, there should be enough room for your first 02 sensor but some people have reported that they don’t have room and they end up having to relocate the 02 sensor bung.
@@JayDMJorge well which other headers have you notice are more of a direct bolt on? And have you found anything about the 1320 headers? And when you say high flow cat you’re referring to the magnaflow cat correct
@@Anthonythekidwholivesupstairs yeh magna flow has good reviews! I don’t know much about the 1320 headers but I know the plm headers have been dynoed numerous of times before and people have had good results. I do not recommend any DC / Oem style headers because they’re pretty much the same as stock and people tend to not make any true gains. They’re direct bolt ons but all show and no go
nice video man, thanks for including good how to stuff in it so i know what to look out for when doing this on my prelude when the header comes.
Thanks man! I really appreciate it and I’m glad it helped! I’ll have a new vid of an update uploaded tomorrow!
The stock manifold is almost a header, the reason almost no gains, I like the sound after.
The biggest restriction is the collector on the oem one ! Thanks
Those rims are fire bro 💯
Ty sir!
Has a better tone after definitely a change though , stock one sounds restricted.
Thanks man- I agree !
use of fourth gen dc header.it also has 2.5 inch outlet vs the tiny fifth gen 2 inch
Yeah, but it’s been proven to not make any gains since the collector size remains the same which is the biggest restriction!
My 4th gen. Dc sports header is 2.5 collector. A little modification but works on 5th gen. Look it up the pics will show the difference.
And use 2.5 inch test pipe or fake catalytic converter to match. It works!
Excellent video bro, you should make more

Did you swap out the original steering wheel cause I don’t remember any of the 5th generations having this.. it definitely looks cool and sounds good
Yea sir it’s a s2000 ( ap2 v1 ) steering wheel & thanks ! Stay tuned for the new vids! I’ve been busy but things have settled down

I'm doing the 1320 tri-y with the flex pipe..hope it don't touch the pan!

Does that steering wheel swap right in? What wheel is this ?

Ah it’s basically header, 2.5 collector, oem cat and oem piping with aftermarket exhaust. It’s still very very restrictive
Do you still have your a/c and power steering
Yes sir I do - sorry just saw this
Does your airbag work?
could you add the link in description? u think they would work in a honda torneo (f20b engine) sohc vtec
Yes I’ll add the link! And I’m not sure but you could contact plm directly @ private label mfg dot com. I’ll add the link in the description

🔥🔥🔥 content +1 sub thinking about making some just got a 93 prelude 5sp vtec nice I want some headers intake already have apexi muffler
Thanks for the sub! I love 4thg en ludes! New vids coming in a few weeks!
why did you have to do a custom flex pipe?
Because the tri y header doesn’t come with one . Perhaps they revamped the design but the old one wasn’t a direct bolt on. It also hangs pretty low
Any updates on the header
I’ll have an update on the next vid- I had to add an external brace/ gasket, because one of the slip joints developed a leak
