Yes, they have made some changes. I wonder how many changes will be throughout the Riven world. I am sure they were somethings they wanted to do a little different from the original. I can't wait to explore the whole new game. It does run pretty good. I do have a benchmark video posted, running on an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. While the game looks like it is going to be beautiful, it certainly isn't going to be ultra realistic like some of the other UE5 powered titles. This probably has more to do with an attempt to keep it light enough that most systems can run it. Thank you for the comment @charzakwinn1398!
I'm not a fan of the CGI characters when compared to the live action ones in the original clips, even though I know that there is no way they can have the original live action clips without locking the camera in place. Other then that, the island itself looks amazing.
Yeah, the live action videos were a nice touch to the original. However, they probably could have done better with the new CGI renders too. Still the game looks like it will be fun.
Agreed. The CGI characters are really iffy for me. Part of what made the original so immersive was having those real people there talking to you. Other than that, I'm loving how this is looking.
At least they were able to track those original performances as motion capture references for the new models. So it's still those performances retained, in a way. And I'm sure in future updates they will update the character models and make them photorealistic. Until that day, I still think this will be the new definitive way to play the game. Overall I'm still incredibly excited!
That said, I think it helps that they're reusing the original audio in a lot of places, and while Atrus' lines are re-recorded, he's still played by Rand Miller.
HUH! Interesting... You can access the Marble Dome almost right away... That wasn't the case in the Original game. I thought the changes here in the Remake would be smaller, but i guess they are quite significant!
If you are watching this video on a lower resolution monitor then you aren't seeing it in 4K (3840x2160). So naturally it will look the same when you play it at the same lower resolution. If you have a Microcenter or other Computer Hardware store near by you can potentially see 4K in action. Then again, retail stores are notorious for using lower quality, low resolution inputs/source material.
Thank you for the replay. Yes, It is fairly realistic in comparison to the old. I don't know about Atlas, perhaps we can find out when the full game launches.

@@kalkstein2694 In this version of Riven, the scenery has been changed in places where changing it makes no sense. For example, going through the cave at the beginning of the game. Another thing is to add something to the scenery, for example some objects in places where nothing was before. This idea is cool, it can even be explained by the fact that Gehn added an entry to his fifth age [if you know what I mean] I know the original version perfectly well, I've finished it dozens of times since I first played on Playstation in 1998.

I always found Riven the most beautiful world of the series. It's nice to see it coming back to life with a modern game engine.
Some of the other footage of gameplay shows some real nice areas. I think it is going to be great. It might be too short!
@@Uberklocked Yeah, it might be easier to move around quickly and also less chance of missing that button that was only visible in one slide.
One of my favorite game of all time!
Strange to watch this without the noise of the cd spinning
This brings me back to 1997 when the original released. I see they’ve made some subtle changes in the world! Seems like the game runs really well.
