Jordan is just Jordan. That's the beauty of having a name that can traditionally be either gender.
Jordan turned out to be my favorite character. I love the visual representation of they/them.
Same. Jordan is the best of the cast.
No shit, it's as if it wasn't plastered on the screen 2 seconds later.
@@BrandonWestfall this was in response to her trying to figure out if Jordan had a different name when they are male or female.
Cate’s backstory scene was so sad but a much needed breath of fresh air. She was absolutely right about their parents too. They’re the ones that had their children shot up with V to make a buck off of them. Then they have they gall to think their children are monsters after their powers manifested. Much like Vought, they were the real problem. Like she told Marie, “don’t spend a fucking minute crying over them.”
Thank you, for pointing out what the episode made us all think about.
Emma / Lizzie broadway is a national treasure she’s great in interviews too and she’s making it clear she wants to be live action spider Gwen and I’m all here for it
RIP Chance Perdomo. Gone too soon!

"They're all just hurting" is a pretty accurate summation of Gen V, yes
"he turned me into the curious intelligent man i am today" XD
Gen V turned out to be WAY better than I expected. I mean I thought it would just be a shallow, corny cash-grab, or at best, a lame but tolerable spin-off. I was so THRILLED to discover that it was actually a well thought out alternate view of the universe of The Boys, with enough plot and character development to stand on its own.
It kinda reminds me of my two favorite childhood comics: The X-Men and The New Mutants.
Emma is an angel and must be protected at all costs
A fascinating philosophy that affects how I watch the Boys and Gen V is this: "Power doesn't corrupt. Power reveals. When you have the power to do whatever you want to do, what you do with that power reveals who you have always been."
Spider-Man set the standard for policing one's own actions through morality. The Boys, Gen V, and Invincible explore worlds where folks can easily give into their darkest urges, and often decide they're okay with that.
Maybe but that philosophy, is two side of the same coin; revealing who you are isn’t all dark urges sometimes it’s about discovering the better person when you decide to the right like most of the characters in those shows.
I love their commitment to practical effects on this show. They actually did build a giant 🌭 😂 for Emma to hang off of for episode 1. And then in this episode they actually did build a giant ear for her to come out of and push the earpiece.
14:29 the way you silently flipped Shetty off with both hands without saying anything is great lmao
10/10 reaction 😁
Cate & Andre = trauma bonding. There's a lot in just the first episode that showed how close the three of them were, so finding comfort in someone who understands the pain you're in and what you've lost is totally understandable.
As a person with fucked up parents, I do love this episode and how it portrays how different kinds of problems can stem from the way you were brought up.
Polaris' power is magnetism manipulation. He is using magnetic fields to manipulate almost anything ;)
*Polarity
Im so glad they decided not to recast Andre, RIP Chance
Feelings won against logic, again.
Andre was already sick with what his dad had, so they could have written him off as dying from a very accelerated form of whatever it was that killed his dad.
No need to recast.
I think we all had the same thought when the episode ended, and were really worried about Emma and Sam. It seriously sucked to have to wait a week before we could watch the next episode and find out what happened with them.
I really love the way the show is portraying how children are pressured to be who, and what, their parents want them to be a lot of the time and how difficult it is for them to try so hard to be the “person” they’re really being forced into. So many parents are actually like this, that it’s really sad for these kids.
It may be hard to imagine, but you'll love Emma even more by the time this season is done. :) OMGosh, you're gonna love it!
14:29 Woah, watch where your pointing those things.
Polarity refers to magnetism, so he controls magnetic metals, electricity, and light to a degree. Depending on how fine tuned his powers are he can sift through data that is magnetically placed in the laptops memory.
Emma is absolutely JACKED..! o.O
Right? What kind of man would love a feminine woman?
The missing person poster was for the janitor Andre ran into that the security guards killed last episode. You mistook him for another security guard. He was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
I LOVE Emma! The actress used to date Tanner Buchanan (Robby from Cobra Kai) as you can tell by her INSANE physique! They were high school sweethearts, but sadly they aren't together anymore, to my knowledge. Nice to see them both have good careers! Two kids from Ohio, my neighboring state, here in WV. 😊
As far a someone not letting someone be themselves; it isn't always just parents. In elementary school, I was pushed to play baseball, but I couldn't do it successfully because my parents couldn't afford glasses to let me see the baseball, and so I failed the other kids on the team and they were mad at me and yet society expected me to like team sports...
I see that a lot of people have traumas and issues and I have to wonder how much of it doesn't originate with individuals, but with society (a corruption that isn't in something of flesh and blood itself, but is made up of individual parts that are flesh and blood)
Oh, society is almost always definitely to blame. A lot of our Parents decisions are made because of societal expectations. Same thing with teachers, coaches, friends, mentors… I used to rock short hair all the time, but I got told that I looked like a boy or, everyone thought I was a lesbian. I couldn’t just be Angela with short hair.
@@funnylilgalreacts I have a dream of a world where jobs can be constructed around an individual's strengths and weaknesses so that it fits them, instead of forcing people to change to fit the job. What kind of world would that be? Or a world that appreciated the diversity of everyone wearing their hair the way they like, the clothes they like, etc... instead of fitting into narrow minded boxes of how people should be.
Emma actually didn’t lie when she said Luke sent her. He asked Andre for help and sending Emma is how he did it.
This show was my first time seeing Chance Perdomo and I became a huge fan. RIP Chance. Andre and Emma are fantastic characters. The whole cast is really awesome.
When you struggle with schizophrenia, that is the first question you ask of any anomaly in your environment.
It's definitely not a coincidence that our two main female characters' powers are empowered through self-harm (purging, cuttting).
I stepped away for a moment while an ad came on during this video. I thought they said it was for Vought mattresses. It was about boxed mattresses but I thought Vought was expanding out…
😱
I hate to think how many products Vought could get into if it was the real world. They'd probably be unstoppable 😮
Again, if you want to watch how bad Kate’s power can be, watch Jessica Jones (Disney+). The actresses for Starlight and Ashley are both in Jessica Jones.
This show has suuuuuch a huge swing of emotions. And we start caring about all the characters so damn fast too! Amazing season of TV.
A supe with Cate's powers would be policed all the time. She could take over the whole school or more.
Oh wow for some reason I never knew that about your sister, sending love your way Angela!
My favorite MCU line: "What is grief if not love persevering."
Dude, Emma is such a badass. Amazing reactions!
They gave her a drug and didn't tell her. They were the direct cause of their own demise.
17:34 Oh don't worry, that's a really tough name to remember. :>
I love how everyone goes into protector mode when it comes to Emma. She's just too precious.
I love ur energy and reactions💚
Sounds like Jordan got some Karma, and Emma needs to stand up for herself and stop letting people crap on her.
The deal with Jordan is that their parents appear to be of Chinese ethnicity. In that culture it is really, really important to have a son to continue the family. That's why the father keeps mentioning Jordan being "his firstborn son". I actually have friends who divorced because their union didn't produce sons. Basically, the guy felt he needed to try with another woman, it was that important. They literally told me this.
that's why i can't with emma it's always in one ear and out the other 😂😂😂i'll see myself out to episode 4 lol
Was I the only one that, while watching the actress who played Marie. Kept thinking she'd play a great younger version of a Gina Torres (Zoe from Firefly or Jessica Pearson from Suits) character?
Emma wasn't lying. His brother wanted him to get out of there and asked his friends for help. That's all Emma said, and it's true. To conceal the fact that his brother is dead is not a lie, it was not necessary to mention it at that time.
I think you missed one more thing about Jorden and his/her parents: The social commentary on the politics of China. A small, fine but important detail. China's 1 child policy. Boys are wanted and girls are discarded. Daa is the choice that needs to be made. Who gets the preference in a 1 child policy if you make yourself liable to prosecution with 2 children.
Chilhanger sucked balls!!! Good episode
FLG REACTS ........ "FLG = Fu**ing Let's Go!!!"
I have couple of questions on Emma's powers. First, if you can get bigger by eating, wouldn't you keep doing it until you were at least a little more than 5'1"? Would you become aware of the purge/smaller thing before the eat/bigger thing? What does the fact that she chooses the purging, make herself even smaller aspect to be her super power over the ability to become bigger say about how she views herself if anything?
Well, we don't know for sure if she can expand outside her 'default' size. And even if she could, then that just makes the purging phase even worse if she chooses to shrink down, as she'd have to lose even more mass.
When she grew up her mom likely noticed that her height started to vary and eventually assumed it has to do with food intake, then teaching her to purge. Keep in mind those parents are all in on it from the beginning and likely looking out for any sort of oddity that could manifest through the V injection.
@@Dark__Thoughts exactly. You would figure the gettingbigger would be the first to be noticed because, most likely, she would be eating more often than throwing up
Simple answer, ratio, balance, what in a woman's mind looks right. She can only be so high before she looks too wide that it looks odd.
There's a difference between being taller and being bigger.
Great, now i gotta go watch Waterworld and see for myself lol
The whole pee thing is pretty much just a single scene at the beginning IIRC in regards to their water filtration.
Waterworld gets a ton of hate, but I think it's a lot of fun.
Social media fame is all those parents care about, but we all know how Social Media isn't all sunshine rainbows. It's not healthy to be so connected and addicted to followers, and all the "numbers go up", also projecting, there's so much projecting from the parents. They pretty much fucked up their kids by having them injected with V as babies, because all they saw was fame and money, but there are things beyond just fame and money by exploiting their kids for it while they reap the rewards, while they have to deal with their own struggles. I hope there's a future story plot where they just be like "Vought is bad, and needs to go" and trying to get Vought shutdown or something.
🥰🥰
Don't worry, Emma is the best character of this entire series.
Cate's story about her brother is so incredibly messed up...mostly because you can see anyone doing it unintentionally.
It's honestly impressive how many different types of shitty person they were able to cram into one episode.
It’s impressively disgusting.
❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤
w TIME TO FIND THE VIDEO
“I thought everyone knew.” She didn’t know, so why would she think everyone knew? Clearly a lie.
I'm sorry about your sister buddy.
A four-letter word ending with "k" that is a synonym for "intercourse." Talk.
At 15:53 - "Is her mom important?". No, but she WANTS to be. Polarity has his own powers (and serious issues), but Emma's mother is like Starlight's - gaining fame vicariously. It's really gross, if understandable.
If you think Cate is scary, then don't watch Jessica Jones season 1... that truly shows you the potential horror that power can wrought!!
Emma did not lie to Sam. Luke asks Andre to get his brother out of "The Woods," and Emma helps Andre do that. So, yes, Luke sent her.
it kinda makes sense that the adults suck though. everything going on here is an asshole magnet.
Loving the reaction, however, re-watching Gen-V is very difficult knowing Chance Perdomo won't be around anymore.
Emma is the only really good person on this show.
Google "Thanus"... 🤣
stop with the beeping - why are you doing a show that says fuck - why are YOU saying fuck if you're just gonna beep it - at least stop using the beeping - it's annoying ... just mute it ... UA-cam states that it's only like the first 45 seconds that matter ... I find it so annoying when reactors do shows like this only to censor them ...
Why are you so mad?
youtube.com/@Xenophrenia Yeah, how come? I'm from Australia and despite our (well-earned) reputation for casual swearing, I couldn't care less if it's bleeped or not...
@@jollyrayda good for you? ;-) ... you're point being what? that you're okay with corporate America determining what is okay? just like the show actually .. are you paying attention to what it's saying? it is conveying a message
FIRST
That is my assessment, the lady at Red River seems to be the only one who gives a crap (and you can kind of see it in decisions Marie makes going forward).
Oh but get ready for your censor for a scene about ten minutes into the next episode and also, spoiler, he is fine.
Wait til you hear Shetty's backstory. My theory is that they altered a bit of Billy's quest on the main show and more or less gave it to her here.
Stop alluding to things.
