Umpires* unsung heroes of the game, would of had 1 more run and 1 less out (JD Davis appearance, should of been 3 balls 1 strike, hader would of choked and we both know that we know it would be another walk)
that would be Angels legend Kendrys Morales who BROKE HIS LEG while jumping on home plate after hitting a walk-off grand slam against the division rival Mariners. I was 9yo when I watched that game live and his name will always stick with me because of that…besides the fact that he was actually quite good and even placed 5th in AL MVP voting the year before the injury. He was a rising star during that time and one stupid celebration halted his progress and he was truly never the same afterwards. Honestly feel like that’s when things started going downhill for the Angels…aaaaand I’m sad now. Great video as always Jomboy!

Kendrys came back with the Royals and was instrumental in helping them win the 2015 World Series though. Kendrys was still quite good, but it's hard to say how good he would have been without that injury.
The script for this one was definitely my fav! Highlighting the bald fans at the end sealed the deal for me! Perfect! 😏

Crowd shots in sports are amazing and I love the fact you highlight fan reactions. Some of my favourite sports photos include a clear view of fan reactions at a critical moment in a game. I can spend five minutes analyzing the look on the face of fans and players in the immediate vicinity of, say, Kawhi Leonard's buzzer beater when the Raptors won the series against the Sixers. Never gets old.

Rogers isn't the closer, Camilo Doval is the de facto closer. More of that "can't use the closer in the 9th inning of a tie game on the road" unwritten rules BS. If Rogers can't locate his opening pitches in the strike zone, he never seems to figure it out and then he gets shelled.

You make a breakdown of this one, but not the Giants' successful comeback against the Brewers (and Hader) last month, capped off by a walk-off grand slam? That hurts, man.
He also ignored the GOD AWFUL calls the Giants got in the top of the ninth. Ump called strikes to JD Davis on two pitches well outside the zone on either side of the plate. As bad as it was for Hader, it could have been a lot worse if the ump hadn't bailed him out. Moreover, Rodgers had a few pitches not called in almost identical locations. Inconsistent umpiring is an important piece of that story, totally overlooked by Jomboy. A bit disappointing from a creator who generally puts out top notch stuff.

@Lighthouse in the Storm Haven't heard a specific theory on scripting in MLB like that myself, but given some of the horseshit I've seen from umps in Giants games it feels plausible. They've absolutely been appalling on defense, but I'm convinced they'd be above .500 (by a few games) if not for the umps.
For Jomboy, it feels more like typical east coast bias against West coast teams. Teams with stars get a pass, but teams like the giants get ignored/diminished. Wouldn't call it hate so much as apathy. Would love for him to prove me wrong on that
@Lighthouse in the Storm It can, especially when it's a national broadcast. Feels like some networks take pleasure in trashing the Giants at times. But to see how little attention MLB gave them when they had the best record in baseball last year... they didn't even appear in the playoff promo stuff. If the Jets or Jags shock everyone this year, the NFL will market that like nothing you've ever seen. MLB sucks in that regard.

When Josh Hader is good he is really good but if he ever does bad he will implode. This ain't no "one mistake move on" this is "he gave up one so now he will give up everything". I don't think the Padres needed to give up anymore than they did for him.
He has a couple rough patches a season but overall having him means youre going to win a ton more games you wouldve lost without him. He's perfect for teams like brewers or padres to at least get them in the playoffs, but then when youre there you cant really count on him
