This was the greatest performace i've seen in my life. I shit you not, i was sweating during the fight and had goosebumps for half an hour afterwards. Max put the "art" in martial arts that night!
I think after the interview that everyone showed concern on he really evaluated his training camp and took the sparring out. Looks like it was the smartest decision he ever made. He looks amazing.
Max's way of thinking is next level. He's right, if you are a contender in the UFC, you're already very good and very experienced. You've already sparred hundreds of times to get to be a UFC contender. The ratio for injuries will outpace your improvement. You can hit a plateau on improve with hard sparring. It's more cost effective to gain improvement elsewhere. Because injuries will add up with age
I'm impressed he has the maturity to recognize that, just because what he's doing now (not sparring) is working for him, it doesn't mean that it's a universal prescription for best results.
@@DaNatureBoi Because an immature person wouldn't have the perspective to evaluate why it's working for him now, and they'd just assume they stumbled on a great idea they wish they'd stumbled on years ago. It makes a lot of sense if you can find training partners that can mimic people very well. If you can pick up on someone's mannerisms and then help key in to those behaviors for a fighter would be ideal.
I completely agree with there being more than 5 rounds. Lower tier goes 3 rounds. Adept fighters go 5 rounds and something like top 5 contenders go 7+ rounds.
He right. Take it out of the judges hands and stop saving fighters from their losses. Bad judge it’s gotta go. Maybe move reg fights to 5 rounds and championships to 7 rounds. This will separate the pack
Joe lets a guest speak more (and us hear) when Joe not high. The difference between this interview and the one with Porier recently is a good example. With Porier JR was educating Porier about MMA fighting and then JR went into a classic stoned focus on a clavicle leg kick phrase that he found profound, original, and funny.
"Im the best boxer in the ufc baby" Saying that sentence while avoiding a punch and landing a side punch, at the same time talking shite to the commentary, was fucking magnificent x
Hes not. Truth be told if he and kattar only threw punches no elbows or kicks kattar would have done a LOT better. Max showed off the boxing when kattar was rounds after being done.
@@Eric42RandomVideos the old boxing rules before marquiss of queensbury rules were crazy. Rounds lasted until someone was knocked down and the downed fighters corner had 2 minutes to revive him. Cold water, smelling salts, a chug of whiskey, whatever it took to get the guy into the next round. And there was no limit on the number of rounds
