  • Welcome To Another Episode Of Pattay’s Performance!
    Today in the shop we press on Cub Cadet Fix N Flip! This video is heavily edited! I'm not a pro by any means, I learn by doing and taking things apart. I've been catching a lot of flak that I don't split machines in half when changing belts. I like to move in and around to get the job done. I started to split the machine in half to appease the keyboard mechanics and in the end I was right.
    Moral of the story keep doing what you're doing. If it hurts no one...no loss or foul!

      We all struggle, it’s good to show bc when I struggle I start to second guess myself.
      TBH, I’ve never had to manipulate the pulley on other machines like this one. So I’m kinda stumped to an extent on why it did put up such a good fight.
      It’s a real pleasure seeing you in the comments. Happy New Year 🤙🏻🔧🇺🇸🦅

    I always thought there was a rule to never change the belt until there is 2 feet of snow and its -20 out.

    That garage you're working in is so much nicer, althoiugh lacking usual tools!

    • @pattayperformance
      @pattayperformance  2 роки тому +1

      🤣🤣🤣🤣
      That garage has all the tools. I was just being difficult bc quite frankly I’m an emotional idiot. I let a bunch of keyboard mechanics get to me. Saying that I need to split the machine. In reality I rarely do and this machine didn’t. I started to split the machine and then stopped. I was so mad / disappointed in myself for giving into those idiots.

    Try clamping down the handle to move the plate out off the way instead of using the wrench. Much easier!

    I didn't use a clamp. My auger belt might have needed an adjustment. I was able to slip it off and slip a new drive belt (not the auger belt, but the drive wheel belt) on from the top. From the bottom I had to remove a cover which is different than this videos--the 34" unit uses 8mm bolts instead of 3/8. ua-cam.com/video/UqCsu-NNjCs/v-deo.html

    I find it easier to separate the machine totally then change the belts . there is not as much struggling with removal , or install the belts . Eerier to see what is going on with the belts when dealing with them .

      It’s not ideal to split the machine for these MTD’s due to bolt located inside base itself. Not the auger housing.
      If it’s were AYP built machine, yes but not these MTD’s

    • @garny3766

      @@pattayperformance sooo….I just got done with a CC 3X 28” and I split it. No issues. 4 bolts, 1/4 nut, 2hairpins, 3/8 pin, unhook blower idler, spring…flips right forward. All kinds of room. Inspected blower bearing as well. Also changed drive belt. Next time you need to take out 1/4” bolt on lower LH side as to allow friction pulley bracket to move back farther allowing easy passage of belt between friction pulley and wheel. Your way works and after I check it is the way the mfg recommends, but no snowblower yoga for me. No gas running out. No oil getting into places it shouldn’t be. I’ll keep splitting.

    • @CEDARMULCH642
      @CEDARMULCH642 Рік тому

      EXACTLY!!!!!!!! You must split the machine. There is a right way and there is a wrong way. He Doesn't see that because he skipped some steps he made the job harder for his self.

    • @carsDAN7172
      @carsDAN7172 Рік тому +1

      No way. But there isn't a need to tip it over either. I used 5" of wood blocks and that's all I needed to reach under it. I had just filled it full of gas so no way was I about to tip it over as in this video.

      I enjoy them, just I let the keyboard mechanics get in my head saying I need to split every machine. In reality these machines it’s best to do it this way….IMO Driveway mentality 🤙🏻🦅🇺🇸🔧
