Thank you very, very much on this eye opener style of video. Am torn between Rep cambererd swiss and Elite FTS. I might just go with Rep, I don't want to cry ones buy twice.
Great job and solid review! I've had a Kaddy for almost 2 years and recently picked up an Elitefts bar while on sale. I'd personally say that when considering cost, versatility, build quality, etc. the Elitefts bar is 100% the way to go. I'm even contemplating selling my Kadillac now that I have it 😅
Awesome job man! Just getting around to watching this. I have the BOS...it does feel chintzy without a doubt. The knurl is nonexistent. But I added some of the sandpaper texture grip tape to the handles and that solved that. It is SUPER tight in my PR4000 and the 24lb weight/specific collars is dumb. But I throw rubber coated 10s on each side first to make it ~45lb and give myself some "bumpers" against the rack. Then I use comp collars which can be tightened to whatever bar diamete. I only use it for bench variation on high reps and incline bench...it serves its purpose. Taxes my triceps and gets a good chest stretch with the deeper ROM. Dont love it but dont hate it...for the price and amount of use it gets...I'm not too disappointed.
I might've been a bit too harsh with my criticism, I've had a few bad experiences with BoS lately and didn't realize how harsh it sounded until after I posted the vid lol
I recently picked up the arch nemesis before seeing this review, and I gotta say after a couple times using it I don't hate it or feel that it was cheaply made, but I find myself being incredibly careful because it's so light it isn't heavy enough to counter balance a 45 pound plate so if you're not paying attention when taking a plate off one side, it can start to tip on the other end.
Great video! Just the comparison I was looking for. I am going with Rep as I have a bunch of points after the Ares purchase. Guess I am Rep guy now. Thank you for all the time you put into this.
Man this is an insanely informative and awesome review! Liked and subbed 🤙🏻 I jumped on the black Friday deal for REP's cambered bar, with local discount, came out to 250ish. Also ordered their safety squat bar as my shoulders have been bothering me when squatting.
Thanks for the support man! At $250, it's a no brainer, good pickup! Their SSB is also really good so I'm sure you'll be happy there also. I'm planning a similar SSB comparison between Rep, Titan, EliteFTS, Bells of Steel, Marrs, Kabuki & Prime Fitness too fyi
@@flexmarksthespot look forward to seeing that video! I also am contemplating getting REP's open trap bar in the future. The interchangeable handles (whenever more handles get released) makes it so versatile it seems
The Elite FTS bar had a very unique grip handle that is angled on two axis' (2nd from center) can you touch on this? It might be possible with the Rogue bar I dunno.
Not possible on the Rogue version and I haven't noticed much of a difference with it on the EFS version. It's the close grip handles and I typically don't go super heavy there anyway
I have the elitefts and my only complaint is that in less than 2 month of use the powered coat on the sleeves chipped. Does not affect the utility but annoying.
I wonder for the rep bar or others that are cambered since the bar is cambered if for curls and skull crushers if it would feel weird and unbalanced since the plates are "lower" then the center handles? Would love to get people comments on this
I'm glad to have helped out there lol. I was testing these all for my personal curiosity but figured might as well film a video to share my thoughts & findings 😅
Absolute great video. Where did you get the washers for the Rogue MG-4CN to protect the frame from the screws? Do you have the link to them or could you share the size? Thanks!!
Seriously a great video. I’m impressed with how much information you put into this video. Great perspective. Plus I like that you use these bars and the different versions. Are you considering the rep fitness Swiss bar for the next video?
How much do you like (bend over) rows with the Kabuki bar? Unless you are perfectly parallel to the ground, the bar should try to rotate in your hands, especially with a narrow grip, is that an issue ?
Great review and thank you! I have mild left elbow pain and was thinking about this type of bar to give it time to heel I do high rep 50-100 with bands as I saw in one YT video and its working but always nice to have variety in home gym. It sounds like Rogue's is the best to minimize elbow pain and its your favorite too. I was leaning this way after seeing them all side by side. What exercises do you like the most with the Rogue? I mainly want it for bench and close grip triceps and triceps extensions. Do you like rowing with it as well due to higher range of motion?
This review was probably the best Multigrip bar I have seen thank you! Random question - are the leg rollers on the rack Rogue or Rep? I’m debating which one to get
Great review. Can’t thank you enough on explaining the physics behind all the bars. My friend has the rep one, I tried it and it put more pressure on the wrists compare to a straight bar. I noticed that the EliteFTS has the handles that slightly angled down. It looks like more natural for the wrists. Have you noticed any difference between that and other grip handles? I have a left shoulder injury, I’m trying to not aggravate it more or also hurt my wrists, so I’m torn between the Rogue and EliteFTS so if you could answer this that would help me a lot! I know you said in the video that the pendulum bar will be better for injuries than seesaw bar but If that specific angled down handles on the EliteFTS works too that would save me lots of money. Thanks in advance.
Fantastic video. Count me a new subscriber. Quick question. Can you bench press with the cambered multi grip bar upside down? Or would that be too unstable? I ask because I have shoulder problems which would be aggravated with extra stretch of a cambered bar. However, I still like the idea of cambered multigrip bar for seal rows. FYI, I have used flat multi grip for floor press in the past and really liked it.
Thanks for subscribing! Benching with the cambered bars upside downs depends on the bar. If the sleeves are above the handles when you flip it upside down, you cannot flip the bar. It'll tear up your wrists and flip on you. That would be the case with the Kadillac, Rogue. Using the EliteFTS bar, you can flip it upside down bc the sleeves & handles are on the same plane in either orientation. Hope that makes sense. You could also get a non-cambered multi-grip bar if you don't want the extra ROM
@@flexmarksthespot Many thanks! That makes sense about the sleeves needing to be on same plane as the handles. I will probably stick with non-cambered bar. Do you have any recommendations for flat multi-grip bar?
@@nordicwilly6650Probably the EliteFTS American Press Bar but just depends on how fancy you want to get with it. Anything EliteFTS seems to work amazing, they just don’t get a lot of love bc they don’t offer affiliate programs for influencers to promote. They’re also focused on functionality, not making the bars super premium and expensive.
Would the rotating sleeves on the Rogue help take some of the strain off your wrist when doing curls/skullcrushers vs the Kabuki bar? The Kabuki is not useable after a few weeks at heavier weights because of the stress on the wrist with curls/skullcrushers
How are the bars with the smaller width of the pr5000? Would you still recommend the elite fts and Kabuki with the shorter width or will monolift be needed?
Elitefts is fine, kabuki is also good if you have the newest versions with the flushed bolts. If you have a version with the protruding bolts, it’s going to be a lot tighter.
Good stuff my man. I've been trying to decide on what bar to get. I was originally worried about ones liek the Elite FTS because people call them unstable. But I think that seems to be a them problem because I've seen so many good lifters use them with 0 issue. I love how in depth you went on the different types of bars and their physics. My retarded issue, I kinda of want Elite FTS American Gridiron bar over the chamber. I currently have my safety straps set up so that it wont be able to hit me in the face/neck if I somehow screwed up and dropped it (I'm paranoid lol). I'm worried the chamber will cause issues with that. the straps make it so that the closer to my head the higher it goes. So im worried that as it gets a bit lower, the chamber will then go up just enough to hit me if it was angled right lol. not that I ever plan to be in that extreme of a position. but I did have a freak accident as a highschool kid in the gym. I was dumbell pressing too flared and my shoulder just shut off and I dropped the dumbbell on myself. Luckily it was a 50-70lb rubber one, and landed on my chest / shoulder area and not my head. So I'm fully aware that things can happen. but I need to stay within reason. I could step on a dog toy and fall down the stairs but I dont not use the stairs.
I know I’m late but Rogue has a hot deal selling the MG-4C for 120$. Do you think it is worth it if I buy the short sleeve one + 32 mm handles? How does it compare to the MG-4CN in terms of %?
@@flexmarksthespot It’s in the rogue Europe store. The thing is, they only have straight handles, do you think it’s still worth it? Should I buy more than one handle?
@ Oh with only one set of straight handles it’s not a no brainer anymore. Are extra straight handles discounted if you buy multiple with the bar as part of this deal? If yes then get two pairs. If the extra handles are full priced even with the bar, get one pair of straight and play around with them in different positions to determine the next move. Ideal setup for me is straight handles on the outside. Slightly angled in the middle and more angled ones on the inside. The narrower bar is better but the original is still solid. The short sleeves are the better option for this bar regardless of what the other favors are.
@ extra handles are not discounted, so buying two would elevate the price to 250$, that said, I’m not sure they will release hot deals for this model again?
@ At minimum it needs two handle pairs to be worth it but three would be better. Up to you at that point if the extra handles raising the price is still appealing compared to a fully loaded narrow version
