You are riding with a passenger. I wouldn't sweat it. I would never chase 2 guys like that when I'm riding with someone. That said they were also running into the other lane. Not a good practice IMO. This bike though can definitely keep up with those guys in these corners. It is very sure footed on the road and feels well grounded on pavement.
When I have passenger my goal is to not terrify them completely with fast rides unless they request it since they cannot see forward and it get tiring on their neck to look around rider helmet
Back in the UK yesterday from a Euro trip that included the stelvio, Fuka, Grimsel, Timmeljoch passes on my 1290 SAS. I was never overtaken by these guys. The SAS is a fast bike.
Cutting corners and using the wrong side of the road is asking for trouble . I had 2 very close shaves on a recent trip to Spain with idiots doing this , then sat with a group of lads who told me a story of thier mate having a head on with another bike .
Great ride man! no sense in trying to put two life’s in danger. Looked Very in control. Just pass them on the back wheel next time by yourself haha.
I would have been quite happy as a passenger to enjoy that ride - safe, within limits and smooth..... if you want to be a hooligan, carry on is my answer.... its a lovely torquey engine for sure...I love mine.

the title does not do justice to the bike .. the 1290 on mountain passes is a beast that few sports bikes can destroy, certainly not those who have passed you, but in order not to get destroyed you have to give it the gasss !! ;)

Even a duke 390 can beat those super bikes. Its the rider here not the bike that mattered. Rider was very sensible and down to earth to not to ruin super bikes overconfidence. A KTM 1200 can anytime match or beat those bike. i like the way this rider glides his bike in twisties.
Only thing they have is speed, you my friend- have everything else.
I would have attached myself to the two with my old 1000 Suzuki Vstrom, with passenger and suitcase🤷♂

@@MuhnyPOV Have you ever ridden a newer gs/gsa 2up? Can you compare the two bikes? Very few people ride the 1290 SAS 2 up. Im considering either a gs/gsa or 1290 sas. Also, whats your fuel mileage riding 2up in the twisties?
@@ridemfast7625 The GS is a bit more comfy but its also more than 5000€ more expensive and I don't think is worth it. If you plan on traveling the world the bmw is better because there are a lot more dealers/services around the world. If you want a fun bike get KTM and upgrade the seat if needed (that is only negative abaut it). Fuel usage is around 5,5 l/km if riding 2up and a bit of lugage 😁

The quickshifter sounds very clunky shifting down; is that correct or does it only sound clunky?
Im kinda forsing it to downshift in low rps, it works very smoth 90% of the time. It works best when using it above 5000 rpm but still works good in low rpms just a bit slower and louder (clunky). 😀
Why don't you rev it up a bit?

It has 160hp in engine and 135 on the wheel so yes prety much
