16:27 Skrillex is realizing how often Diplo interrupts him 17:19 Skrillex is finally pissed because Diplo interrupts him the 100th time 18:13 Skrillex is giving it up
+Wolf U That's how I get when ppl try to talk over me, only I will talk right back over them & continuously say "LISTEN!". I don't have patience for that mess!!
This interview highlights Diplo & Skrillex art-form, there ability to produce music real-time. It also highlights Charlie Rose's art-form, intelligent non-condescending and inquisitive interviewing. Thanks!
I love how the interviewer is so unaware of the scene but that's how his questions are so upfront and insightful. Skrill and diplo both speak to their story really well
Not just diplo but other artist too. and he kinda lost his old style of music after his album recess is slowly started to go away. I just wish I could travel back to 2011,12,13 Too see him where he was very encouraged. Because listen here. Once you are a succsesfull artist you do not have to work as hard bc you are already sucsessfull, well skrillex used to sleep on a couch back in 2009 2010 (My mom actually knows the lady that let him sleep on her couch XD) But he was encouraged to be successful and make it so he worked hard and found that style but now that he mad it i guess it doesnt really matter anymore
+moiraine_damodred Poor Skrillz. -___- He was at least calm, nice, & genuine, but he did look frustrated. Even tho Diplo seems cool, he talked WAY too much! >___O
+moiraine_damodred Thank you. Diplo came off very image conscious ... 'oh, wait I might get left behind if Skrillex talks. I gotta hype myself'. Skrillex felt real, Skrillex felt fake.
I have this bad vibe that Diplo's more in it for himself, even possibly trying to convince Skrillex to doing some things he'd not normally want to do, but Skrillz puts up w. it- to a fault, or for now at least... Diplo gives me dark vibes.
The interviewer is cute. Not physically attractive but more like when you teach an old man about computers for the first time. He was so lost. Lol. He knew nothing about the genre. But I like that he appeared to be interested.
ah bah oui j'ai arrêtez l'école et j'ai beaucoup appris sur le web depuis donc je comprend l'anglais meme si j'ai encore du mal a l'écrire sans faire de fautes de vocabulaire ahah
What a great interview. These guys are real innovators. I am someone who traditionally would not expect to see these guys on Charlie Rose - but I have been won over by their music, their passion, they have this childlike innocence and enthusiasm. I am in my late twenties but stopped listening to electronic music in the late nineties, and listened mainly to classical from then on. However, I am absolutely going to buy their album, from what I have heard (here and in their music), it would be worth it. I love finding new musicians and new art - whatever the type. (And I am not even an artistic type of person). Awesome stuff.
Axel Nussbaumer Not at all. I'm one of the old people. Very cool. Took me a bit of time to wrap my head around it. Your generation is doing its thing. The way it should be.
Enlightening interview! Appreciate the advise about ' the biz', and how you got to where you are. Also, thanks for sharing honestly, and openly. It was evident. GOD bless.
Interesting interview. Learned a lot. Great interview, with a lot of points covered by Charlie, bless his heart, but I sense a tense atmosphere between Sonny and Wes. Just me? Maybe. Whatever the reason, I adore each of these people on screen for different reasons, and I hope they continue to excel at the crafts they've been given.
They are both articulate, intelligent and objective during this interview ; projecting respect for each others time when expressing their experience and view points ...
Lol. Wes was all about making things big for parties and Sonny was like Nah, Man we bring people together no matter what it is its just about bringing people together.
Although I do miss the garage band days, the music industry is so greedy and effed up now that you do have to put together your own music just to make a living and to reach your fans. These guys have the right idea.
Hey guys: There's a logical precept that would be perfect to include in your future responses to questions regarding your association with drugs: CORRELATION DOES NOT IMPLY CAUSATION.
Half speed - diplo and sonny sound like stoned 1.25 speed - diplo and sonny sound like they're on speed. Other than that, the best interview and the best internet and live starts in the now :)
I've always been beyond impressed with sonny's hats, kicks, snares.. I used to have some of his old old songs, "come from the heart", another one i can't remember, that laptop was stolen.. he's been working for so long and so obsessively over every aspect I don't know the proper terms for beyond frequencies and transients.. haha.
Love the vibes. Mixed waves of the past and the future of what is real of sound. Making your mark on the generation of music lovers is what you did! A new sound that penetrates the soul. Love you guys!!!
The part about soundcloud is so true. I've actually unfollowed artists (yes including skrillex), and chosen not to follow certain artists because of them having only having previews available. I love skrillex still, but there's not point following on soundcloud if I can't hear the tunes. Interesting interview nonetheless. Keep creating!
hello from the hello from the hello hello hell hell hell BOWWWWUWBUBUBUB HELLO WUBUBUBUBUBU UBUBUBUB EEEEEEEEHEHWAHAHHHHAHAHAHAEWWWWWWWWEEEEEEE BEWWWUBUBUBUB
Love Sonny and Wes their the best! and i fucking hate when ppl say this what they do is "easy" it's fuckin not and it's deeper then what all think it is and i hope to meet them and talk w/ them and just vibe out!
It's definitely not easier getting your music heard. There are alot of producers who make music and post it online and there's tons more crap to sift through. It's not hard for someone to download a music making program, grab a couple loops, watch a youtube tutorial, make a song and post it online. And alot of people are making ''music'' nowadays who aren't taking the time to learn the craft and put in the years it takes. It doesn't really take very much commitment to the craft of music making for someone to make a song and post it on soundcloud and start sending it off to blogs and famous producers. So basically now its easier to get your music out there, but it is so much harder to get someone to click play and listen to it because they 99.9% of the music that gets sent to them sucks.
Yeah we're collaborative, and the QC is very collaborative. We're from the outside, and collaborate and have a high QC factor. We play festivals with rap stars with live energy collaboratively with high QC.
I really like Skrillex in this interview, he's very humble, honest. Very insightful.
Hes always like that, not only in this interview ^^
He's like that in every interview tbh
He's like that no matter what
close your eyes when skrillex talks, you can picture jonah hill...until diplo interrupts again lol
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
+Vlad Plays Holy shit
omfg, most accurate observation ever
Fuck... Lol the similarity of their voices is creepy
Very happy Skrillex and Diplo are looked as the "leaders" of EDM. The scene is in good hands, much respect.
16:27 Skrillex is realizing how often Diplo interrupts him
17:19 Skrillex is finally pissed because Diplo interrupts him the 100th time
18:13 Skrillex is giving it up
Hhahahahahha so true
I'm dead this is funny
LOL
17:19
on point! lol
HAHAHAHA this is so accurate
17:22 Sonny's mind: God damn it diplo!
lol
I was keep playing that part over and over again because I thought it was funny
+Wolf U That's how I get when ppl try to talk over me, only I will talk right back over them & continuously say "LISTEN!". I don't have patience for that mess!!
+Wolf U Well, it's Charlie to tells Diplo to speak, listen for him too utter "Wes" to Sonny. So I do believe Sonny's mad at Charlie and not Diplo.
+Henrik Bergström oh wow good call
Great interview
-
you guys should learn from skrillex and compress this audio tho. I had to turn it up all the way
+NoBiggieTV loool cmon sonny mix his songs way better these days
+NoBiggieTV i highly recomend people like nicolas jaar or david august also nils frahm now them r the guys that are making EM proud
you here going sexual
its pretty compressed lol
that would make sense if it weren't for the fact that compression makes the vocals quieter if anything, not louder. quit talkin out your ass.
This interview highlights Diplo & Skrillex art-form, there ability to produce music real-time. It also highlights Charlie Rose's art-form, intelligent non-condescending and inquisitive interviewing. Thanks!
Watch it at half speed...They all sound stoned xD
+cameron edwards ahahahah genious
+cameron edwards 18:56-19:20 at half speed
+cameron edwards did it had a good time with it lol
+cameron edwards LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
+Adrian Daret lo
I love how the interviewer is so unaware of the scene but that's how his questions are so upfront and insightful. Skrill and diplo both speak to their story really well
diplo has a radio voice, nice voice
He used to be a radio DJ :)
ever heard skrillex sing? :)
noice voice
God bless you all, Charlie, Skrillex, and (Thomas) Wesley Pentz-Diplo, and all your families! Great music and great interview!
Compare Skrillex's suspicious expression at 00:10 with his complete turnaround about Rose at 28:42. Pretty cool. Dude's a down-to-earth guy.
If that's true, is it funny or are you just providing information?
I love Sonny’s voice so much. Hes so kind and humble and wise. Hes so inspiring to me.
Oh at 6:15 Skrillex mistook "complement" with "compliment" :D Cute :D I love them, love love love.
Sonny was better solo... Just saying, even though they make good music, I just miss Sonny's natural talent.
+JohnDaEpic
I mean it's not like Skrillex isn't still producing music on his own
+JohnDaEpic I agree ...you doesn't have that "zing" he had before :(
Not just diplo but other artist too. and he kinda lost his old style of music after his album recess is slowly started to go away. I just wish I could travel back to 2011,12,13 Too see him where he was very encouraged. Because listen here. I think He was better at dubstep than at what he does now.
But dubstep is dead...
jesus fucking christ could diplo interrupt skrillex ANY MORE OFTEN
lol i was thinking the same thing
+moiraine_damodred Poor Skrillz. -___- He was at least calm, nice, & genuine, but he did look frustrated.
Even tho Diplo seems cool, he talked WAY too much! >___O
+moiraine_damodred Thank you. Diplo came off very image conscious ... 'oh, wait I might get left behind if Skrillex talks. I gotta hype myself'. Skrillex felt real, Skrillex felt fake.

Diplo gives me dark vibes.
lol
That was awesome! Dip, Skrill & C Rose having an intelligent conversation. Nice.
I never imagined that they'd appear on Charlie Rose.... 0.0
The interviewer is cute. Not physically attractive but more like when you teach an old man about computers for the first time. He was so lost. Lol. He knew nothing about the genre. But I like that he appeared to be interested.
Great Djs, and Charlie Rose, such a great gentleman, its great to watch his interview.

ah bah oui j'ai arrêtez l'école et j'ai beaucoup appris sur le web depuis donc je comprend l'anglais meme si j'ai encore du mal a l'écrire sans faire de fautes de vocabulaire ahah
God job with the interview. So happy you talk about canada, quebec, montreal :) i love that you guys talk about giorgio moroder!!!
Good interview from all 3 guys. Skrillex & Diplo really represent the scene well
To me, Jack Ü will forever be iconic.
Stoked Skrillex still has his Shambhala wrist band on!
"The fucking Master :D Skrillex ooo yeah"
Skrillex looks like he gets beat by Diplo. I can only imagine him as Channing Tatum and Diplo is Danny Mcbirde from the movie this is the end
What a great interview. These guys are real innovators. 0:20 Old people must be so confused hearing this shit.
***** amazing!
*****
you almost fooled me
Axel Nussbaumer Not at all. I'm one of the old people. Very cool. Took me a bit of time to wrap my head around it. Your generation is doing its thing. The way it should be.
lol ikr
I'm confused and I'm 14
Enlightening interview! Appreciate the advise about ' the biz', and how you got to where you are. Also, thanks for sharing honestly, and openly. It was evident. GOD bless.
Skrillex is the only Emo that smiles. Love that :)
He isnt emo
he used to be emo but not anymore doe
As Skrillex is wearing a festival wristband
Diplo is interrupting Sonny every time
skrillex 👽👽👽
Electronic music isn't about competing, it's about having each other's back.
that was an awesome interview.
Like si no entendiste nada, pero igual te quedaste hasta el último segundo sólo por ver a tus ídolos. JACK Ü
Interesting interview. Learned a lot. Great interview, with a lot of points covered by Charlie, bless his heart, but I sense a tense atmosphere between Sonny and Wes. Just me? Maybe. They are both articulate, intelligent and objective during this interview ; projecting respect for each others time when expressing their experience and view points ...
I think Sonny looks nice his imperfections only makes him human! ^_^
I always think of Corey Feldman when I see skrillex
Lol. Wes was all about making things big for parties and Sonny was like Nah, Man we bring people together no matter what it is its just about bringing people together.
I would take Sonny's comments one step farther and say they are creating the soundtrack for a lot of young peoples lives including my own. Jack UUUUU!
Diplo's Voice is so Deep. I want , that He Makes with Skrillex a Second Jack Ü Album (Maybe 2016) ans his Second Studioalbum .
skrillex bored af cus diplo always interrupts him lol (17:20)
I have so much respect for these guys.
Saw them at hangout fest, best time of my life
Great interview I missed this one.
Charlie Rose interviews Jonah Hill & Joel Kinnaman
They're both so well spoken
man diplo and skrillex both really know how to put on a show
Where R Ü Now video wld be so much better if they slightly slowed the art frames. It sÜcks to not see it AT ALL.
Although I do miss the garage band days, the music industry is so greedy and effed up now that you do have to put together your own music just to make a living and to reach your fans. These guys have the right idea.
Such well spoken guys. Excellent interview.
Where Are Ü gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it.
When they can produce song in very short period of time, that's a sign they are talented. They sounded smart in this interview
Break down those walls! Great interview and thanks for doing what you're doing, kicking down some doors for other musicians that think like U.
Pls guys come near Germany... can't wait to cu live you're so awesome
Jesus the part about making their music easily accessible to the audience, and trying to fight against it is a complete waste of time. Spot on.
Great interview- Two geniuses 🙌
Hey guys: There's a logical precept that would be perfect to include in your future responses to questions regarding your association with drugs: CORRELATION DOES NOT IMPLY CAUSATION.
DAMN YOU SOUNDCLOUD!!! ... was just listening to a song that got shortened from 3:30 to 49 seconds!!
Really insightful interview!
Half speed - diplo and sonny sound like stoned
1.25 speed - diplo and sonny sound like they're on speed.
Other than that, the best interview and the best internet and live starts in the now :)

Love the vibes. Mixed waves of the past and the future of what is real of sound. Making your mark on the generation of music lovers is what you did! A new sound that penetrates the soul. Love you guys!!!

Skrillex blows diplo out the water for creating his own music. Diplos a great dj and producer, but not for his own tunes
Nice Job pushing the culture forward Sonny + Wes!
Skrillex... oh .. you mean sonny?
wot?
+_-= Saints TF2 =-_ That's his real name. Diplo is Wesley.
+Angeldust_xtc No shit m8 i thought that was his age, i know, but what the usefulness of this comment?
Hmm, not useful I guess. Was just trying to help.
+Angeldust_xtc not your, but the one of the guy who said "Skrillex?... oh you mean Sonny"
HUGE ENERGY

Diplo is my musical idol.
there should be a compilation of skittles getting interrupted

very good would that enabled the obcion of language translation for many Latinos know what is said in the interview ... thanks
Diplo has such a deep voice
awesome interview
Why does this feel like dad son conversation?😂😂😂👏🏻
4:23 diplo says they want to make the loudest craziest and freshest material. How come all I hear is trappy horns and high pitched high hats.
perception bruh
When did songs start being referred to as records?
+Newpoff I think it's an artist thing
Newpoff When DJ's took over the music scene.
I listen to Where R U Now when I am in my car wherever I go, XD
Love Sonny and Wes their the best! and i fucking hate when ppl say this what they do is "easy" it's fuckin not and it's deeper then what all think it is and i hope to meet them and talk w/ them and just vibe out!
Skrillex is so down to earth
Love how he pokes at him
subtitles will be great. nice doc
I love these guys
i was shocked when dip said it takes a year to produce a major lazer record, i didn't expect that at all
Jeancarlo Rivera it took a year to make lean on

But that .1 precent of them that get there music listened to are now famous and djing at big festivals because they did shit right
"Do you consider yourselves musicians?" Wow, the general public is soooooo behind in music education.
Good interview
Yeah we're collaborative, and the QC is very collaborative. We're from the outside, and collaborate and have a high QC factor. We play festivals with rap stars with live energy collaboratively with high QC.
Winning the lottery of life.
True...true
