I own a set of these planters and they do good for a plate style. I recommend knowing your seed size and match the plate accordingly. I took the time to season the cast iron parts and now the plates, and other cast parts don't rust. The only other thing I done was put a poly skin on my shoe. My local John Deere dealer had it in a 2 foot square. It does also help the shoe slide over the ground easier.

Never thought of seasoning the cast iron seed plates, great idea! Did you coat in veg oil, then place in an oven. Very interested 💡
Natural Harvest, thank you for your question. We use a handheld vac and vacuum out the leftover seeds.
I prefer to use for my corn farmland about 100 hectares. Needs for corn seeds, and other seed/s may use too.
