Love that little tractor and that planter is a neat little tool. I'll be honest us round boys gotta have our good home grown food lol. Hope your all day is a great one.
Yes sometimes you take a chance to plant corn early and it don’t work out. I love Incredible sweet corn. Here in Iowa everyone wants peaches and cream so it’s not very popular but I love it. Great video. Good with the bad. I have never seen any bad. Thank you for sharing
Love it Tony and Tanya and Gizmo, this is different, more agricultural, great stuff. Bob and Lina. NZ. Btw, we've had the Omicron virus this past week. I'm ok, Lina not so.
We are trying to be more self sustaining as we go forward. I pray Lina get better soon. I had it last year, but I didn't get very sick. Tanja, never showed any symptoms even though she was around me all the time.
Growing up on a farm in Virginia, used to hear Dad talk about late frosts. The struggle is real even down here in Florida. Hope the corn does well....since it's a grass, it LOVES nitrogren. Have you looked at N prices lately???
I bought some nitrogen up when I first heard about the shortage. My wife has chickens and she is saving up a big pile of Chicken poop for next year. Just in case.
My grandpa always said you plant the sweet corn when the black walnut leaves are the size of a squirrels ear. Of course that was back before all the hybrid varieties that will germinate in cooler soil. I'm in Western Pa and am hoping to plant my first planting of corn this weekend if the rain stays away.
We always plant corn at the first of April, but the weather was off a little bit. This is the first time in 7 years, I had corn fail, but I had fun planting it again. It was so wet.
I have tilled twice a few weeks ago after I got my new TYM 264. I will till again this weekend and plant if it stays dry. I started filling my tires today and only got one done. I kept seeing everyone with the tractor on the ground have the bead break. So, I thought I will take mine up just off the ground and it worked like a charm, until it didn't. My bead broke! I did the old ratchet strap and got it back on again and was in the home stretch and it broke again. I put the onion to the strap and finished one side. If my calculations are right, I lost about 5 gallons. I won't even mess much with the release valve. When I hear the pump labor, I will shut it off. I think more than anything that's why it finally worked I just essentially stopped the pump and let it breathe off air and eventually fluid. What a deal. Had to run all the dogs off and close the doors. I will overcome! After I buy another case ;o)
I love planting season. I have to fill one tire on the the T25. I had it loaded and put a nail through it. It leaked all the fluid out. I have not filled it back up since patching.
Those two packer rollers that run in front of the seed drop. Looks like they dig in and slid a lot. Is that because your to deep or what. Looks like a nice unit for planting. We are just warming up here in Iowa some what. It's just been cold. We are getting some nice little showers. We haven't started our garden yet. Maybe this next week. Thanks for sharing
I have the same planter and can’t figure out how to get those middle closing rollers to stop bulldozing ground unless I roll the top link way way back. Glad to see I’m not the only one but I feel like it should be a bigger diameter roller so it actually forms the row and shuts the row
So I am a brand new farm and tractor owner as a matter of fact my tractor delivery is tomorrow. Was curious where I could get one of them planters at and if it will work behind my new bobcat 2040 with a quick hitch?
Hi Tony, Hay what's one of those Planters worth in those parts? Looks real nifty. By the way My T265 turned up after waiting for it for 7 months, the hangup was waiting for the backhoe attachment & just like you I really like this tractor. You get a lot more with the TYM than a JD or a Kubota these days.
TYM is a great value, plus they are tough. My T474 has over 200 hours of hard work, but not one failure. The T25 has 83 hours with no failures. The planter seems to work really well. I know how to set it up now, so next year will be easier.
they use to plant corn when dogwoods and red buds were in full flower. i don't know if that works any more. we don't plant corn any more be cause of deer they also love beans. our hay has so much cold weather damage on some of it will not be cut. with fuel over $4.75 gal not worth it. take care, be safe and well.
I want to get a tractor just yours. With backhoe, front end loader. Corn planter. How do you fertilize the corn. I’m 77 years old, still like to have some help
You can buy a spreader or drop fertilizer by hand. Fertilizer has become so expensive, it is not economical to broadcast anymore. Some more complex planters have fertilizer hoppers, but mine only puts down seed.
Here is the low down. I planned on planting a lot more corn, but it turned out I only plant about a half acre. It is over before I get started good. It plants fast. If you are planting large amounts, then yes. It is well built with grease zerts on all moving parts. I am planting corn Thursday.
Maybe its just me, but I always make my rows with the slope of the land so that way water can drain with the slope. When you make rows cross ways, water will erode the downward rows and wash the rows away. Looks like your plots are like mine where it slopes both directions. I always go with the slope that is the greatest. Here in Louisiana, we get over 60+ inches of rain per year not counting hurricanes, so its imperative we do what we can to capture water by using cover crops or divert water as much as possible.
We don't have enough grade to worry with it. The agriculture agency recommends rows like I have to slow the water down; thereby, decreasing erosion. If the rows are straight down hill, the water speeds up running off and cuts.
I have the same planter and can’t figure out how to get those middle closing rollers to stop bulldozing ground unless I roll the top link way way back. Glad to see I’m not the only one but I feel like it should be a bigger diameter roller so it actually forms the row and shuts the row
I figured it out. Till the ground. Let it rain on the ground and dry. This makes the ground firm allowing the roller to work properly. The planter doesn't like fluffy dirt.
That is just how farming goes sometimes. Mother Nature does not always share our plans. Enjoyed the video Tony.
Thank you. We keep pushing!
I love your honesty Tony! I pray the next round grow in abundance!!!
We have a nice stand coming up
I enjoyed the video and look forward to your responses to the comments. We should all listen and learn from other folks experiences. Stan here.
Well said!
Thanks for these 2 videos. I have never seen how a seed drill works. I appreciate it.
You are welcome.

Round is a good shape! 😂
Hope it all comes up and gives you a lot of corn and beans. I'm still trying to get my garden going. lol No time. Have a good weekend Tony! See ya!
It is worked out well. We have a good stand of corn up. The beans are starting to push through too.

That planter does a nice job
I still have to figure the adjustments out, but it will make life better
I hope you enjoy good fortune with the crop this time folks. Best wishes.
We have a good stand of corn now and the beans are pushing through.
Love watching what you do on your channel I miss gardening we use too plant big gardens but health problems put a stop on that
Paul, I thank you for watching. I look forward to gardening each year. It is a good bit of work, but it is satisfying.
Glad I'm not the only one getting a really late start planting this year. 🤠
The video is a little behind. We have a nice stand of corn and the beans are pushing through.

Tony it happens to the best of us. You get some of that nice early weather and you can’t stand it have to get something in the ground. Take care, Ben.
Our corn is up and looking good. I am so excited.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I planted the Saturday after Easter and mine is doing well also. 👍
The weather has been very uncooperative lately to be sure. Thanks for sharing my friend! 🙂🚜
It is raining here today. I am glad we got the corn back in.
You've earned yourself some nice toys my friend
It has taken years to get here, but we are having a blast.

Hello from Chester county Tony.Would love to see a food prepping vid.Love all the vids ,keep up the informed vids bud it's a big help to alot of folks
I plan on showing food storage this winter
I plan on doing a new garden next year so this year.I plan on having chickens doing the garden preparation for me.
That is smart. The price of nitrogen is through the roof.

I just replanted corn yesterday. Only had about 3rd come up first time.
It breaks my heart, but I have a good stand now.
We've had so much rain this year, I'm still waiting to plant.
We have a nice stand of corn now and the beans are pushing through.
I have to retill my garden to plant because I've had to wait out the rain. We're getting a heck of a soaker today in Oklahoma.
We had a significant rain today. Should be good for the corn and beans.
Do you have a video about your corn planter?
Where you got it, set up and the pros and cons?
Thank you.
I can’t wait to start planting up here in Michigan but we are a few weeks away yet.
It was a low-risk planting when I did it, but still a risk. It got me this year.

I have a lot to learn about setting the planter up correctly. As our garden gets bigger each year, I will figure it out.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I didn't know if it was maybe the design of the roller.
Liked the video love looks of seeder.where do you get one of these seeders at an rough cost
I got it at tractor supply. There is a link in the video description.

It plants well in firm dirt.
Nice job can’t wait to see how this turns out this time fingers cross🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
Me too! Perfect rain today
With it being adjustable, do you think it would plant other seeds too? (okra, melons, sunflowers)
Awesome video Tony. What do you use for weed control on your corn?
I will plow and then use organic wood chips we made up. I hope
Help Tanya weed so ya don’t get too dang round. Lol. All in fun. Enjoyed the content
I weed with the tractor. 😀 I could stand a little more manual labor.

How did the corn turn out this second time?
We had the worst drought in ten years. 😫

John, I paid $5.60 for diesel yesterday. That is crazy. We use electronic sound makers to keep the deer and raccoons away. They work pretty good.
Any updates? Harvest and new tips? Thx
It works really good. That was last year's crop

So how did you fertilize?
I spread it over the ground before I tilled. After the plants came up, I spot fertilized the plants.
@@TonysTractorAdventure thanks!
How do u fertilize sweet corn
I use a high nitrogen fertilizer with some phosphate and ash
is that roundup corn?
I don't think so
Problem with the spacing you are using you will be compacting the soil next to where you are planting.
No issue. The pounds per square inch of soil under the tires is roughly 13 pounds. This is why most tractors come with big fluffy tires or many tires.
We're do I buy 1 of these
I got it at tractor supply
Why are you not going back and forth? Instead of going all the way back around..
It is easier
Put down black plastic and you won’t have to weed at all
I have seen it done
