Dear Kate, thank you for another wonderful video. I was fascinated to see your treasure boxes.
However, most importantly, you really helped me.
My Grandson was having an absolute bluey, he’s coming up to two years old. He was inconsolable and no one knew what to do. So I said “ it’s ok I’ll take him to see Kate” my family thought I’d gone mad. So on you came and the screaming became sobs then the little post crying hiccups. He snuggled in and fell asleep. He slept and I continued to give nana cuddles , and watch the rest of your video. Thank you.

You are so blessed to have your good relationship with daughter-in-law Kate and special bonding with little one. My daughter-in-law keeps my grand daughter away from me and it has really affected my family. My youngest son, her husband is so torn by it all, and my other children and grandchildren are horrified by her behaviors. I am missing my little Addi growing up, and it us a sadness that is beyond explanation. Thank you for your lovely and joy- filled channel. Bless you all. The birds are delightful.

Your treasure boxes made me think of Survival Kits that I made for my work mates one Christmas that contained, a penny for their thoughts, a whistle to get someones attention, a little light to guide them, a needle to make sure you can make a stitch in time, a marble in case they had lost theirs,... and other things. I found the idea on line like your treasure boxes which I think are amazing. To bad they were sold 3 years ago

Hi Kate! I'm glad to see you are well! I have a huge scrap bin that I save all year. In the spring I stuff them in an ornamental bird cage, and put them out for the birds. When my kids were little they used to have so much fun walking around the neighbourhood spotting all the colorful bird nests with my scraps! TFS Hugs!

Oh the boxes were sold out before I even got to watch the video!!! But I did get 2 of the bird kits for a friend so she and her granddaughter can do them together. They live on opposite sides of the country so this will be fun to do for them over the internet. I did splurge on some of your beautiful cards for myself. Only very special people will be blessed with those! Thank you for all the lovely peaceful videos.

The treasure boxes are so sweet. What a great idea. Don't we all collect little things that we hate to part with? I think giving them away as little treasures are perfect. Unfortunately, I am 7 hours too late. The treasure boxes are all sold out. I'll try to be quicker next time. Thank you for a lovely visit.

I heard you say that you would like to learn how to embroider better. I’ll pass along a helpful tip that I learned back in the 80’s, when I was doing counted cross stitch every day. Cut about a one inch piece of the soft side of Velcro. Get it wet, then squeeze it out so that water isn’t dripping. Cut a length of floss no longer than 18 inches, to avoid tangling. Fold the Velcro in half, with the fiber side, in the inside. If you are right handed, pinch the Velcro between your left thumb and index finger. Hold one end of the floss between your right thumb and finger. Lay the end of the floss that you are holding, in between the folded sides of the Velcro. With your right hand, draw the length of floss all of the way through the Velcro. Repeat a couple of times. By slightly dampening the floss it will reduce or eliminate tangles. After the floss has been dampened, transfer the end that you were holding with your right hand, to your left hand. Hold it with your left thumb and finger, but don’t pinch it too tightly. With your right thumb and index finger, separate out one strand of the floss from the remaining five. Pull that one strand out slowly, to avoid tangling. Set it aside. Continue doing the same thing with three more strands. When you only have two strands left, separate the top ends. Put your right index finger in between them and lower your finger, until you reach the other end. Now all six strands have been slightly damped and separated. Use however many strands your project calls for. Wind the remaining strands onto an embroidery bobbin, like you used to wind floss on, for your delightful bird kits.

What a fun place to "work". Haha, I got a kick out of you telling us that we could throw the fabric scraps away instead of you! You inspired me to think outside the box....or actually....what fun filling a box could be. I am thinking about our grown grandchildren and how making Nana Boxes for them might be a treasure or a chuckle or even a what was she thinking kind of box. A true inspiration you are, Kate. And the birds are just too cute. Thank you, Kate, and Anna too.

Each month I make a Nanna box for my grandkids (8,5,yrs and baby)..as they live far away. I put in something to make , something to do ( this time it was floor chalk for hopscotch) , something to read and something to eat (sweeties) . I spoke to them earlier and they were busy with the play dough kit ,sweeties had long gone... grand daughter was busy popping the bubble wrap with great yelps of delight....They have Children's magazines yet to enjoy.... keeps them busy on wet days...

Your imagination & attention to detail on all the little things you do for the shop is wonderfully inspirational, Kate. The treasure boxes look magnificent! Alas, I wasn’t quick enough to get one. Oh well, I’m sure I’ve got enough little treasures stashed around here that I could make one for myself. Just need to give the crafts hidey-holes and random drawers a good clear out. 😂💚💜🧡

Great seeing you and Anna and a surprise visit with Martha and Agnes. She's such a sweetie. Is she always so quiet? Lovely little birds! They would be so cute displayed on a cut branch or in a window. Also would make a gift package extra special. So happy to see you back! EM in Va.

By the time we see these videos in NZ it is Monday so each Monday is a Lunch with Kate day. Love the cute birds and the treasure boxes will be such a joy to those who receive them. Another great lunch break! Thanks Kate.

I am so inspired to pack up my past treasures and send them as gifts to the young crafters in my life! Thanks, Kate
