They are not the show censoring the word “God”, or hinting at a “Star worship” they are common phrases. What I think is more important is the word starlight. Starlight is dim in comparison to sunlight (well, the sun is a star, but you know what I mean) it’s so dim by comparison that we literally cannot see the stars at day. Starlight also takes a very long time to reach earth (or homeworld in this case), the closest star to us being between 4.24 and 4.37 lightyears away. I believe that White Diamond’s choice of the word “starlight” was deliberate, saying no matter what you will never outshine me, and that “pink” took her sweet time coming back.
The whole field of astrology stems from that human fascination with the stars and other celestial objects. White Diamond and the Homeworld gems seem to take it to the next level though.

Continuing the star theme, maybe White Diamond was made from a white dwarf since it's something a star can turn into at one point and maybe that's how the first gem (White Diamond) came to be. With seeing the other diamonds as extension of white diamond, I can see it possible that she sees it that way considering the reflective surfaces inside of a diamond will give off small rainbows. That's usually what the glitter and shine is in a white Dimond.
Another great video, Slice! You’ve really brought up some interesting points and I am really looking forward to seeing more White Diamond videos. As I have a feeling that she could be dependant on the stars for her own survival because when you look at all the planets that we’ve seen after they were turned into a colony they seem to lose their natural light. I know you could argue that it could be how they were in the beginning but hear me out. What if when the Gems start to colonise a planet they siphon off the natural light that the planet has, as we know many see the “life” in living creatures as a “light”, so what if that is what is causing her appearance to be the way it is. Since she is the head matriarch of Homeworld she had to do something that will insure her longevity and lower the risk of uprising during the early days of Homeworld. This could have led to her having an altered appearance because of the amount of “life” she taken in it’s caused a semi permanent change to her which must be kept up to insure her life. It’s an idea so please let me know what you think of it.

Actually, the color black is the absorption of all colors, not white. White is the color that actively reflects all colors of the visible light spectrum, meaning it is technically no color at all.

We can only see objects by the reflection of light off of their surfaces so we describe them as the color we can see them by. Black is the absence of color because when we look at it we can't see any visible information coming from it. All of at least the visible light waves are being absorbed so our brains compute this absence or void of information as the 'color' black. White light is the combination of all colors. There is no such thing as black light. That's the important part of what he is trying to be described here. You can take a white light beam and run it through a prism to get all the visible colors.
This is a great episode! The only thing I want to point out is it’s additive color theory, not addictive. What I do find interesting is that the diamond court represent a washed out version of the subtractive primary colors blue, yellow, and red, instead of the additive primaries, which are green blue and red. Does that mean both yellow and pink are off color? Or that there’s another green diamond somewhere? Or that blue yellow and red are what everyone knows cause it’s the more useful primary system for arts?

I'm guessing that the physical manifestation of the gem's bodies are rendered into something that behaves like physical matter since they don't emit light themselves.
I agree with the whole manifest destiny, but a lot of the gems say stars. Blue Diamond said "stars..." and peridot has said "oh my stars," when garnet asks her to fuse, and a few other times. It's like "oh my god." So i think it's just a gem language thing. And stars works in place of saying god so as not to offend anyone...idk you could be onto something, but a lot of the gems have said "stars," in some form of a sentence before. I will give you starlight though, you got me on that one. You could be going somewhere with this.

I read some theory about WD being made from a star because it's a rare but natural occurrence that diamonds can be made from stars. That's why she's so obsessed and radiant. It would also make her extremely old and plausible that she was the first gem ever or at least the first diamond.
I interpreted it regarding their space fairing and colonizing. Stars are huge "landmarks" and often have planets orbiting them, indicating resources and a potential new colony. Stars are also a huge supply of naturally occurring energy which I assume they may or may have used at some point. Maybe even they used the resources of some stars to make diamonds considering their powers compared to planet-made gems.
God this show can make really fasinating characters white diamond has been on screen for 30 sec and we already have an obsetion on how she thinks who she is and what she is all about. Thats how you know this show can right great characters
It could be actually, that she’s addicted to stars or something. This show draws us into to real world problems A LOT, like racial discrimination (between gems and humans), death of loved ones (pInk D, duh), and creepy people (KEVIN HITTING ON TWO CHILDREN). So why not add addiction or insanity to the mix?
I have a theory. What if Pearl trained the diamonds....our Pearl? How many times has Pearl poofed in all the seasons? Even when thrown into space or wrecked by Peridot she retains her form. Ametyst has been poof by much less and while Garnet might be able to survive such things I doubt Ruby or Sapphire can. Also Pearl has holo Pearls she knows how to use and even alter to know different abilities such as fusion. During Steven vs Ametyst she could barely hold her own against one Holo Pearl. One could say she was out of practice, but that's what they're meant for practice. It could also be why Yellow and Blue were afraid of White Pearl. If they thought she was more ruthless than ours ij practice and training them it could scar them. Pearl has some of the most amazing abilities out there and that's making more of herself. While maybe not as durable we have nevet seen her strained when she makes dozens of holo pearls or even when they're beated. Even a Diamond would be strained if hundreds of them came at them from different angles. While I know our Pearl didn't have sword training prior to Pink I would think she's have her spear and know its abilities

how bout White Diamond is the remnant of a white dwarf. Her personality is unusually cold, and there are known white dwarf stars made of diamond.

PLEASE READ @SluceOfOtaku!!!!! What if White Diamond gave all gems the power to physically manifest themselves? Like before she came along, all the gemstones were just rocks lying around with no conscience or purpose and she gave them a physical manifestation. When you mentioned all the stuff about light and how it connected to White Diamond, I thought of this. I can assume that one of her powers includes the use of light (given her white, glowy appearance), and gems physical forms include light manifestations, so I don’t know. It’s late and I have had too much coffee. I would appreciate your thoughts though! And btw thanks for making awesome videos! ❤️❤️❤️
Continuing the star theme, maybe White Diamond was made from a white dwarf since it's something a star can turn into at one point and maybe that's how the first gem (White Diamond) came to be. That would also explain her star obsession since she literally is/was or at least originated from one (sorry for bad english, hope it makes sense)

With seeing the other diamonds as extension of white diamond, I can see it possible that she sees it that way considering the reflective surfaces inside of a diamond will give off small rainbows. That's usually what the glitter and shine is in a white Dimond.

Another great video, Slice! You’ve really brought up some interesting points and I am really looking forward to seeing more White Diamond videos.
As I have a feeling that she could be dependant on the stars for her own survival because when you look at all the planets that we’ve seen after they were turned into a colony they seem to lose their natural light. I know you could argue that it could be how they were in the beginning but hear me out.
What if when the Gems start to colonise a planet they siphon off the natural light that the planet has, as we know many see the “life” in living creatures as a “light”, so what if that is what is causing her appearance to be the way it is. Since she is the head matriarch of Homeworld she had to do something that will insure her longevity and lower the risk of uprising during the early days of Homeworld. This could have led to her having an altered appearance because of the amount of “life” she taken in it’s caused a semi permanent change to her which must be kept up to insure her life. It’s an idea so please let me know what you think of it.
What if white diamonds planet is a star what is in the core there's a gem or something a part of her and what if white diamond and obsidian lady have a history together what if they fought once and what if yellow and blue and pink diamond are replacements what if white diamond has more diamonds on the homeworld
And for white diamonds obsetion for stars what if she can control them what if she was made from a star what if obsidian lady called her a star if they did work together before then fought each other what if she toke pink diamonds original pearl to know about her because white diamond knows she is different and is special in her plane what if she wants gems to take form as humans or other things like pink could do but hide their gems what if white diamond was sisters with obsidian lady???
For the replacement part what if blue replaced purple and pink replaced red and what if yellow replace umm orange??? Because they figured out white diamonds planes and then they were destroyed or maybe they are the power source for homeworld
I also noticed Blue Diamond uses the expression "Oh, Stars!" when she realizes that Steven and co. survived the Diamond Aura attack on the earth, I really like these expressions. Love your videos all of them are insightful and fun, keep up the great work!

Actually, the color black is the absorption of all colors, not white. White is the color that actively reflects all colors of the visible light spectrum, meaning it is technically no color at all.

What you're describing is subtractive colors, and that's how other objects behave because they absorb light. (Removing/"subtracting" waves of certain wavelength)
But I think Slice's point was that gems have a physical body of light. Therefore the colors would be additive. White diamond (light) is the combination/"addition" of gems (lights) of all colors basically.
But we don't think of a leaf as being every color but green because they reflect away green light. We can only see objects by the reflection of light off of their surfaces so we describe them as the color we can see them by. Black is the absence of color because when we look at it we can't see any visible information coming from it. All of at least the visible light waves are being absorbed so our brains compute this absence or void of information as the 'color' black.
White light is the combination of all colors. There is no such thing as black light. That's the important part of what he is trying to be described here. You can take a white light beam and run it through a prism to get all the visible colors.

This is a great episode! The only thing I want to point out is it’s additive color theory, not addictive. What I do find interesting is that the diamond court represent a washed out version of the subtractive primary colors blue, yellow, and red, instead of the additive primaries, which are green blue and red. Does that mean both yellow and pink are off color? Or that there’s another green diamond somewhere? Or that blue yellow and red are what everyone knows cause it’s the more useful primary system for arts?

I'm guessing that the physical manifestation of the gem's bodies are rendered into something that behaves like physical matter since they don't emit light themselves.
I agree with the whole manifest destiny, but a lot of the gems say stars. Blue Diamond said "stars..." and peridot has said "oh my stars," when garnet asks her to fuse, and a few other times. It's like "oh my god." So i think it's just a gem language thing. And stars works in place of saying god so as not to offend anyone...idk you could be onto something, but a lot of the gems have said "stars," in some form of a sentence before.

I read some theory about WD being made from a star because it's a rare but natural occurrence that diamonds can be made from stars. That's why she's so obsessed and radiant. It would also make her extremely old and plausible that she was the first gem ever or at least the first diamond.
I interpreted it regarding their space fairing and colonizing. Stars are huge "landmarks" and often have planets orbiting them, indicating resources and a potential new colony. Stars are also a huge supply of naturally occurring energy which I assume they may or may have used at some point. Maybe even they used the resources of some stars to make diamonds considering their powers compared to planet-made gems.
God this show can make really fasinating characters white diamond has been on screen for 30 sec and we already have an obsetion on how she thinks who she is and what she is all about. Thats how you know this show can right great characters
It could be actually, that she’s addicted to stars or something. This show draws us into to real world problems A LOT, like racial discrimination (between gems and humans), death of loved ones (pInk D, duh), and creepy people (KEVIN HITTING ON TWO CHILDREN). So why not add addiction or insanity to the mix?

I have a theory. What if Pearl trained the diamonds....our Pearl?
How many times has Pearl poofed in all the seasons? Even when thrown into space or wrecked by Peridot she retains her form. Ametyst has been poof by much less and while Garnet might be able to survive such things I doubt Ruby or Sapphire can.
Also Pearl has holo Pearls she knows how to use and even alter to know different abilities such as fusion. During Steven vs Ametyst she could barely hold her own against one Holo Pearl. One could say she was out of practice, but that's what they're meant for practice. It could also be why Yellow and Blue were afraid of White Pearl. If they thought she was more ruthless than ours ij practice and training them it could scar them.
Pearl has some of the most amazing abilities out there and that's making more of herself. While maybe not as durable we have nevet seen her strained when she makes dozens of holo pearls or even when they're beated. Even a Diamond would be strained if hundreds of them came at them from different angles.
While I know our Pearl didn't have sword training prior to Pink I would think she's have her spear and know its abilities

she reminds me of the tree people at the end of the movie (the dark crystal) where the two plots are kinda close to eachother but the tree people were made from 2 different people so maybe white diamond is the collection of many diamonds in on body and blue yelllow and pink were the ones she chose to let out to rule with her
