Thanks for taking the time to explain!! ALSO LOVED YOUR EXPLANATION of the best metals and why. You answered a lot of questions I did'nt even know I had!!!
So, when I buy a Creely knife, I know beforehand that I will always get perfect plunge lines, unlike with most other custom knife makers? That sounds pretty good if you ask me. Got a more than 300$ Bark River a couple of years back and the plunge lines were so messed up that I decided to never buy Bark River again.
It's kinda funny how similar our styles are just. You do specific shapes I do full custom for the customer but as far as .. alloys etc. grinds I just personally use a file jig and change the angle of my work rest or platen usually work rest cause it's easier to get exact degrees which as Gary mentioned yes, 5 hundredths of a degree makes a real difference if you do this stuff daily.
NVM I'm an idiot your half finishing rex 121 - I forgot the annealed part and definitely laughed at the relatively soft 😅👍 so true. I use a fucking carbide bit for it.

you could extend your work rest forward on either side of the platen to help with not having the jig fall off the front. Cheers 4 sharing sir.

Exactly why even offer LoL. We make knives we don't teach materials science and metallurgy 😅👍
