@@StrategyGamesCentral Yes it has this artistic vibe with love to detail like DORF rts seems to have. I am very hyped about both games. It is interesting to see that a few people with a vision can do so great where big companies with mountains of money just do not have this creativity. Also Sanctuary Shattered Sun looks amazingly good. We live in a good time for rtd it seems. There are more great games I could talk about, but who am I rambling too. You know what I am talking about.
The whole genre is PACKED with promising upcoming titles and Dust Front is definitely one to look out for. I hope the genre does have a glorious renaissance and that Dust Front will be a part of it.
Eh, I get it. But it sucks away immersion and the sim aspects of it. Real war doesn't take place on nice, even, neat, fair mirrored battlefields. Half the fun of these strategy games is changing your tactics and strategy to deal with changing conditions, whether they be in or against your favor.
@@MisterZimbabwe Well you can still use the map to your advantage and I'm not against default maps. I just think ai mirrored maps is a nice way to keep things fresh and fair. It helps with matchmaking as some people get fixated on maps they train on that nobody else plays. The big issue is when games get old and metas form around maps making it predictable and a chore. I like the idea of sending out a scout knowing the guy I'm playing against finds the map just as alien as I am and has not already figured out where my base is before the map even loaded. :)
very interesting to hear about how most players end up preferring single player campaigns or coop multiplayer. everything you said in that segment is more or less true with so many other genres. especially in genres where competitive multiplayer is actually counter intuitive like survival sandbox games and mmorpgs. and just overall they pushed competitive pvp so hard that people started thinking multiplayer in general is somehow synonymous to competitive pvp
@@StrategyGamesCentral yep. no 1 reason for automatically turning down a game is multiplayer. i also forgot to mention that "G.A.A.S." is another problem that lead into automatic turnoff from multiplayer too.
i watched like 4-5 videos from this channel and i keep thinking. MAN THIS DUDE SOUNDS FAMILIAR. too me a hot min to figure out this is the farm man AoE guy. keep up the good work im cant wait for your coverage of Tempest rising when it came out.
For letting me know of this game, you have my subscription. Still, getting to choose which map to fight in, it seems you can unlock more tech and units available depending on which maps you conquer? Huh. Reminds me of Mindustry which has a similar mode where you can choose different maps and unlock more tech... I am looking forward to this game. Does this game have a demo available? I should check...
Looks cool, but I kinda wish they'd done thinner cel shading outlines; with the black lines being so thick, it looks less like a meaningful art direction choice, and more like a generic shader stuck on top.
Not gonna lie... "Non linear campaign" sounds to me like a code-word for "we were lazy with a campaign, so here's a glorified series of skirmish battles with couple of tailored 'key' missions thrown in". I want to be wrong about it... But somehow I don't think I am.
@@MH-hu5pi The stronghold missions were great. But shit inbetween them... Not really... Especially that Dark Crusade skirmish maps all completely got rid of any cover for some weird reason.
i dunno about the art direction I think my eyes would get tired of looking at grey and red to the exclusion of all els also the thick outlines and cellshading just makes it all look like soup
This takes ages to make, but it looks so damn good. I wonder if it will ever be reality. I really hope so.
I hope so!!! I can see it potentially being very popular

So true, DORF looks awesome! Haha I'm sure there are some RTS I might not know about. I have a video coming out about DORF in the next few days 🙌🏻
That Bomber that drops those cluster bombs look familiar.... (its froma short video called the last day of war i think.)
Correct, I immediately recognized that design
Yep, the developer themselves said they took direct inspiration from it
yes!

I like the idea of mirrored ai maps. Makes sure both opponents have as close to equal advantages and knowledge of the map

This is a beautiful game to be honest and have come a long way since the previous footage I saw
👌👌 There might be further updates coming soon too hopefully 🙌🏻
This and DORF are my most anticipated rts games right now.
*Looks Grimdark* 🤩🤩
Solo Devs really build different due to how passionate they are
So true!!
Still waiting for this game to come out. I tot at first it was just 2 factions, but when u said theres 4, damn boi.
Peace on Earth? I thought Dust Front was set in Mars.

Ya, I definitely lost sight in the last few years as a content creator that the majority of people probably don't ever touch multiplayer!

My very first thoughts after see this game first time: Yeah! Someone put ship guns on tracks!! :D

When is release date? Can't wait
No release date announced yet, but will post updates in the future as I find out 🙌
yep big hype fro this one and dworf
🔥
Seems a solid rts proposal so far, I just hope they can finish it, it's taking ages since the first updates.
Yeah hope so! Hopefully we get some more updates soon
very cool!!

this game kinda remind me of KKND Krossfire

I wouldn't really know. But wouldn't it make it difficult to see hints without the lines being thick?
@@StrategyGamesCentral Shouldn't, if the unit designs are robust enough.
Do the dust front have cap limit?
I believe so, but I heard somewhere the population cap increases during final missions to allow for big wars!
@StrategyGamesCentral kinda sad but I think it's for the best.
There is no way this was made by just one guy
Crazy right?? 😱
I was hoping for a company of heroes style gameplay
Why? It was never advertised as such.
Game looks cool. Dev is Russian though so we will see if it ever comes out.
Hope it does, looks like alot of fun
He is indeed Russian, fully supports the invasion, including the war crimes and open imperialism. Take this as you will.

From the single developer - so there is no "we" ;-)
No one stopping you from doing better.
