The best instruments in the world. I had Roland TD-10 the drum set and the Td-20 and now I would like to take the TD-30KV..Are the best in the world. Congratulations to Roland engineers.....
I already have this board...it SMASHES all the Yamahas I've ever had...and I have a Motif and this thing runs circles around it on ease of use. If you're used to using computer software and know how to program, this is the board. but not everyone can chuck out $3700 for this board...but worth it.
Dude, trust me on this, go with Roland. I had the EXACT same question as you have now until I went to guitar center yesterday, the sales associate showed me this thing and I couldn't even look at the M3 any more.
i got the g7 and its the best keyboard i ever played did four tracks with it you could hook up your condensor mic to it and edit all your tracks and tweek sounds and add 16 sounds all in one the best of all keyboard.... the only bad thing is you have to buy alot of extra stuffs like usb card, foot padle, 1gig internal memories [$100+] and the supernatural exp cards all together your spending about another $1200 and keeping up with the update thats about it....but other then that i love it
Roland themselves Admitted that the Previous Model has a more Stable Sequencer, & when this was released, it had the Sample Functions missing! But Roland have some of the most impressive & Expressive Sounds out there. the Motif is Good if you're into Pop Music! Big Nasty Sounds with no Skill needed! The M3 must be shit otherwise Korg would resort to selling it with "We invented the Workstation Concept"! Although the OASYS does look shit hot! Tough choice people!
I own Kronos, Fantom G and Yamaha XF all 61 key versions because don't have enough space in my room/studio to use 76 or 88 keys and i can't pick one to be my favorite. I like all 3. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Only 1 thing that i don't really like about Kronos is it's Touch Screen, you have 2 use stylus or be very precise where you touch the screen on this board, but after so much time you get to use to it. That's is the only down side 2 my Kronos from my point of view.
I wonder what sounds are like, just read FM review of this unit, no mention of sound quality, COME ON!!! It's an instrument first!!! Guess, I'll have to go to the store to check it out, so far listening to UA-cam & from Roland site - not impressed with sound emulators, Motif seems to sound better.
Looks like it has amazing sound changing capabilities, and can produce audio with a great techno feel :P. But it lacks the ability to play 2 or 3 different melodies simultaneously using different instruments. e.g. the Stagea Electone. What's also impressive is that the Fantom-G allows customization on the "supernatural" sounds. But, the super articulation on Yamaha's tyros 3 seems to be better, but lacks the extra customization.
@SuperNaviator Roland has already exceeded other synths and workstations with their Super NATURAL on every voice in the Jupiter-80. The Fantom-G is old now, but Roland has a more powerful workstation in development. RADIAS was failure and M3 isn't in the same league as a Fantom-G, MOTIF XF, or Kronos; it's comparable to the Juno-Gi or MO.
Looks good and sounds good but to be honest I don't like the idea of everything in one box and it all has the same overly clean sound on everything. Does it really sound any better than an RD700, Korg Triton, Juno 106, Jupiter 8, Roland XV3080, Dx7, Yamaha SY99, Roland TD12 and a bunch of modern software plugins? I doubt it. Nothing on the demo suggests that.
Lets see the Fantom G8 sells for $3,695.97. ARX-01: Drums and ARX-02 Piano expansion board sells for $445.97. Fully loaded this package costs $4587.91. I'm tired of buying Roland keyboard then expansion boards only for them to be obsolete with the next Keybard release. It was the same for the SRJV80 series now the SRX series. Don't get me wrong I'm a long time Roland user back from the days of the Jupiter 8, But this package is a little too pricey.
@smokelahoma1 Before I bouth my Fantom G6 I had a Yamaha CS 2X...I tried to connect this thing to the computer....bying Cubase. It never worked out. It was realy frustrating.I must confess that I am a complete idiot in these stuff. So my advice for you is that if you know a lot about computers and software and stuff I think you can buy a cheaper synth and some programs like Cubase. If you are a technological idiot like me:) buy this synth. Its so easy to work and record with this machine...
THIS THING IS A BEAST. Please check out my channel for some new Fantom tracks I just made! most recently "Higher than a Wish" with a live break down using the touch pads and a mixed in vocal. Thanks!
Never been a fan of keyboard workstations fiddly to program an hard to edit edit. No good for a writer and vocalist. .. Sounds nice shame they dont make just keyboard none workstation version.
New sound engine ? These are the same Roland samples recycled over from their previous generations of keyboards. Cool new design. But, The sound is not that different from the Fantom X series. The price tag is ridiculously high with another new generation of even more expensive expansion boards,
I think ill stick with roland.. Though i want to have both fantom G8, motif XS, and korg kronos in my keyboard stands.. So I will never regret for my money and time to compare them..bwahahahahahahaha
I agree, touchscreens are maybe good for a 13 year old girl to navigate facebook on her phone, but for professional use I find touchscreens a bit out of place.
The sounds and looks are a joke compared to the Nord stage. You wanna play pop/rock,classical or jazz music? choose the Nord. If you want techno/house music? Take a Korg or even a Moog. Roland go home!!!
The best instruments in the world. I had Roland TD-10 the drum set and the Td-20 and now I would like to take the TD-30KV..Are the best in the world.
Congratulations to Roland engineers.....
lazerfist888 this is the best comment about fantom and motif...excellent both of them!!!!
Simply gorgeous. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.
I just played one of these today....OMG it was amazing! If only I had the money for it
The prince of the workstations, the king is Oasys
The chords of HM Grand demo are beautiful!
I SO love my Roland Fantom G, so much to learn! My new love, my Fantom.........L
I already have this board...it SMASHES all the Yamahas I've ever had...and I have a Motif and this thing runs circles around it on ease of use. If you're used to using computer software and know how to program, this is the board. but not everyone can chuck out $3700 for this board...but worth it.

I might get a Roladn G6 This weekend. I'm so excited.
Fantom G is awesome!!! BEATHOVN PRODUCTIONS©
roland owns in everything
i got the g7 and its the best keyboard i ever played did four tracks with it you could hook up your condensor mic to it and edit all your tracks and tweek sounds and add 16 sounds all in one the best of all keyboard.... the only bad thing is you have to buy alot of extra stuffs like usb card, foot padle, 1gig internal memories [$100+] and the supernatural exp cards all together your spending about another $1200 and keeping up with the update thats about it....but other then that i love it

i got a phantom g6 off craigs list for $1700 and i fucking love it
im staying with the Roland family, this is my next workstation here.
I have the korg Kronos but the roland is the best yet!
In your face, YAMAHA. :D A musician's dream come true.

This is three times the price of the M50.. how can you compare those two?
@LAZERFIST888 Korg M3 sounds and looks beautiful ;)

YO I GOT TO GET ONE OF THESE THINGS!
Does this have a built in audio interface/ ad/da converter pre amp that I can use to record condenser???
the motif xs 8 would be the best decision in my opinion^^
@Slick31601 Fantom G is a lot easier to operate. Motif is a bit more complicated.
@jankromurda I like the "blunt." As i nthe Dislike Bar.
no one needs hardware synth any more
for the home studio i dont that for sure....................

@jankromurda lol I agree 100%
It's amazing to hear and look at it.
But is it worth it?
Would a Nord or Yamaha be better?
@jankromurda Yeap
how can people dislike this?? im guessin its cos you cant afford it haha
how much does this cost?
its really awesome..I think it will be better than "Korg Oasys" or Yamaha XF series..
do u feel regret now after using it for A month ?
So you can use this as a midi keyboard too? awesome :D
Iz it better than the M3?
@SuperNaviator Roland has already exceeded other synths and workstations with their Super NATURAL on every voice in the Jupiter-80. @Slick31601 Fantom g. My church may get

@smokelahoma1
you should start with DAWS before you start thinking about a $3,000 keyboard
@Slick31601 Fantom G Bro, Easily.
fucking aye i think i just found my new lifes goal.
im trying to decide between buying this and korgs kronos, they are both the exact same price, i need advice, im confused!
watch out KORG, watch out. the M3 can only be the top for so long. The oasys is still the king tho
@MCRfan141995 What didi you type to find it?
this is too much technology for my mind
you got it right dude, :))) they dislike due to price.
what is the best sound og piano? fantom g8 or rd700G?
please abswer tnx...
play the Jupiter 8 and you know why Roland is the nr 1
how does this compare to some of korgs workstation?
nice but i aint payin no 3500 for it. ill keep my fantom x6
this has to cost some serious bank
This will /never/ be superior to the oasys, lol. The ingenuity of the oasys makes this look like a kids toy.
I can't decide Roland Fantom G or Korg M3
Lets see the Fantom G8 sells for $3,695.97. ARX-01: Drums and ARX-02 Piano expansion board sells for $445.97. Fully loaded this package costs $4587.91. I'm asking my self. the designers of roland synthesizers are scientifics, musicians, or both????
does it have ACMP like yamaha keyboards??????????
Expensive?

no the Roland Fantom G does not come with any of the extra software/upgrades
Brovo!
1) It's like a computer. Seriously
2) How the hell do they expect us to actually learn how to use that damn thing?
Half the price of an OASYS though, and pretty much the same.
It's not like te mouse is built in!. Thats why It's optional!
I am so glad i didnt buy fantom x 2months ago!
@DrVoxeatspeople for obvious.. 3460$
00:50 I hope that guy has a really small hand.
Sure, all you need is a Casio watch to keep track of time. But some prefer the feel of a Rolex.
so expensive-_- waaaahhhhh!!!!
I think ill stick with roland.. Though i want to have both fantom G8, motif XS, and korg kronos in my keyboard stands.. So I will never regret for my money and time to compare them..bwahahahahahahaha
sold my g for motif xf then couple months later, sold xf to get my g back!! roland is plain ole better. DONE
those kits really sounds cheap... i would rather use Fl studio or Logic's Ultrabeat
@UniformedServices69 So Roland Sucks?
what????
You wish, }:o{
I VE GOT FANTOM G BUT YAMAHA XF IS WAY BETTER
I know, how to play some Chopin piece with that big screen staring at you? Can one even concentrate on playing music on this?
I agree, touchscreens are maybe good for a 13 year old girl to navigate facebook on her phone, but for professional use I find touchscreens a bit out of place.
Ahh....I'll stick with Yamaha. Much better overall than Roland.
The sounds and looks are a joke compared to the Nord stage. You wanna play pop/rock,classical or jazz music? choose the Nord. If you want techno/house music? Take a Korg or even a Moog.
Roland go home!!!
