BTW those plug in air connectors are pretty new to me and they seem to leak a lot, so I decided to figure out why. I found over time the actual air line will get a groove where it plugs in causing the leak. If you remove the air line and cut off that little bit with the groove and plug it back in the leak stops. So it's not always the actual air fitting causing the leak. This air line groove never happened with the old school brass thread on fittings with the small collar inside. The reason plug in's are used now is less price and easier to install.
Hopefully after some more critical thought the owners remember your integrity and pay to repair their own equipment. Saving money for your business is something that needs to be done, but business owners also need to accept the risks of hiring/contracting people to do a job. Situations like this will happen and won’t be figured out and as the business owner the right thing to do is eat the cost so you don’t put out the wrong guy. Hope you pull ahead of all this, I’m climbing the way out of a hole as well ✌️

Hey Tommy, this is Canadian Ken from Calgary ab, Canada, I watch your vlogs all the time and you make sense most of the time, but your latest vlog and you offering to pay for the trailer damage does not make sense!! I don't care if I owed my boss a million dollars I would not offer to pay for the damage if I didn't do it. So if you sense he doesn't believe you then work till you paid off your debt then quit, that is Crazy you offer to pay, in your boss's mind he probably think you are admitting Guilt!! Dumb move! But I still like most ot your vlogs- you get carried away a bit with Just Trucking. I am a semi retired trucker, now I get to sit at home and watch what goes on in the Trucking World, haha.
This is why a pre-trip any time you hook onto a new or piece of equipment you haven't used in some time is very important. Once you start pulling it, if you don't document and let the man in charge know about it, the blame will always be put on the current driver. Pulling company trailers you always want to check for flat spotted tires and bent bumpers or anything easily noticeable before hooking on.
Just be careful, the company that you are currently with may say screw it and stop assisting you.....and just writing you off......hopefully they won't. Good luck.
cant say what happened to the trailer but the mud flap has been pull off either by backing into or on something higher than the flap pinching it between the tire & solid object ,,, you'll notice that the bracket for the flap is bent down,, i don't think it was done at a shop,,, looks like some one cut the corner to short & hit the back of another trailer not a pole cause it would be rounded in damage on the side of the trailer ,,, big bucks to repair the trailer more than 2ks ,, i see one cross bar maybe two, two half sheet siding ribits, four foot of side rail ,, plus labor at 100 bucks hr @ probably 3 or 4 hrs plus time loss for trailer not in use ,,, ya buddy bug bucks,,,,, !!!!!!! check the tamdem i bet there is some tire damage or rim damage,,, you sure you want to pay for this ,,,, i'd stand the heat,,,,,,, !
I'm old school, turning wrenches for over 40 years, close to 45 now. I loved old school parts people, they used books just like mechanics did, and had memories like elephants, yeah that's parts number blah blah blah, and they go pick it off the shelf. These new "parts people" rely on computers so their brain sucks up as much memory as a rock. My joke now is I went into a parts store and asked if they sold hanging air fresheners, and before the parts person could reply they looked at the computer and said they needed year, make and model of my car 🤣
That's where I differ. If my tractor dies I'm going to rent a day cab and pull my own load out. . I'm not going to loan my trailer back to the company unless I got some kind of lease back agreement when you finally step up and buy your own reefer it's because you're tired of pulling the company's run out trailers. . The last person you want pulling your trailer down the road is a company driver. I've seen brand new trailers with the side ripped open. I seen a line of brand new Pete's all tore up from idiots. I assumed that it was all turn back you're fired vehicles😮 like how do you bend one stack forward 45° and the other stack backwards 45°. I seen all the doors ripped off the trailers at Walmart at the Sears DC. . all the reflective tape rubbed off the rub rail. . Truck drivers are animals what's worse is the hyatets . . There's a bunch of pretend truck drivers that really just don't give a s*** about anything.
check up higher on the side of the trailer ,, if it had been hit by another trailer it would be all the way up the side of the trailer,,, i don't believe this is your fault
whats really crazy is i fell asleep last night actually thinking i was gon hit that mega millions😂😂💀💀 also bro think about this right, that shit didnt happen at tha dealership. that driver did it. if it happend at tha dealership it wuda just been tha smashed up side. theres nothing at a dealership thats gon rip a mud flap off. dude did that shit at a trucc stop or a shipper n receiver.
Do yourself a favor. Find something else to do for a living. Trucking is overwhelming you. Some people just aren't cut out for it. Your air leak sounds like it's at the air dryer. The leak sound changed just before and after the purge valve released.
Yeah especially if you're using alcohol theres a piece of rubber on the bottom of that. I take the air compressor line off at the compressor, pour some marvel mystery oil down it, it lubes all that stuff in the air dryer and can save you a rebuild, same with all the dump valves, a.b.s. and suspension components I know this is going to sound like I'm picking on you you are too consumed by the smallest little air leak. A little marvel will fix all those little tiny leaks because they're usually just from a dry o-ring.. I think you're doing good if you left the truck for 24 hours and the buzzer didn't sound when you started the motor I got a big dog he can burp all the air out of the tanks in about 15 minutes just barking at hookers, 😮

Parts stores absolutely fuck you on fittings . They think they got you by the balls . Ive become numb to pricing of everything anymore .
Eaton Weatherhead manufactures the best quality air line tubing fittings .

Any time you do your pre trip take pictures of the equipment, it only takes a minute.

The structural Integrity is in the wall but that is a lot of the structure you can't load that trailer
What did you hit?
That trailer damage isn't new. Also that's the main supporting rail. You cant load that trailer that. Way
Even after it's repaired, some shippers won't loaf that trailer. In my opinion that makes the trailer trash.
@Takaride yep it's gonna take a rail
Just lazy truckers not doing pre trips. That should have been caught.
