Ivan Bulić sings "Pie Jesu" - a piece of Gabriels Faure Requiem. The full concert was performed on 27th October 2022, by The Choir and the Symphony Orchestra of HRT (Croatian national TV), Chamber Children's Choir of the Music School of Pavao Markovac, boy soprano Ivan Bulić and baritone Grga Peroš. The concert was conducted by maestro Tomislav Fačini.
Magnifique... malgré un tempo assez lent, il parvient à soutenir la mélodie, et le timbre est agréable, le vibrato aussi, c'est vraiment parfait. Bravo à l'orchestre qui est savamment dosé.
His tone is so pure and clean and has richness as well. I'm very impressed with his young voice. I can't wait to hear him once again when his voice has matured. This was a fine performance, one that he should be very proud of.

I am unaware of who this boy treble is but any boy treble of such high caliber is a joy to listen to.
This is a 13 years old Croatian boy soprano Ivan Bulić... he is learning singing since he was 9 and he is very thankfull for getting the oportunity to sing Pie Jesu in the biggest croatian concert hall ❤. Thank you for listening 🥰

@@PJL7095 No, this Pie Jesu is a peace written for a boy soprano or a soprano (W) ( Gabriel Faure's Requiem). It was performed by the Choir and the Symphony Orchestra and another, baritone soloist.

Beautiful voice--very controlled, on pitch it seems to me--kinda wonder how he can sing so well without much lip movement..clearly the voice is coming from his chest...the lungs, not his throat...
Everything is simpler: the composer gave instructions from "quiet" to "not very loud". The soloist opens his mouth wider during the climax ("not very loud"). 😁

The soloist opens his mouth in accordance with the instructions of the composer Fauré: from very quiet to not very loud.
Croat Ivan Bulić, one of the world's best boy sopranos, is the soloist on this recording. In beauty and purity of tone, he surpasses all the world's best female sopranos without exception. It is for this reason that the composer Fauré recommended the boy to solo in "Pie Jesu".
You don't hear it, but at least you see something.

AWFUL. Boy sopranos are not a feature of the French church
At the and of 19th century, "church authorities allowed no female singers and insisted on boy treble and alto choristers and soloists. Fauré composed the work with those voices in mind, and had to employ them for his performances at the Madeleine (church in Paris), but in the concert hall, unconstrained by ecclesiastical rules, he preferred female singers for the upper choral parts and the solo in the Pie Jesu."
Today's practice of Requiem performance allows both possibilities, both a boy soprano and a female soprano. For the Zagreb performance, they were looking for a boy's soprano, because such a voice gives the performance of Pie Jesu a special touch of childish innocence, sincerity and purity, and also, a touch of rarity (child sopranos with singing experience are rare in Croatia). Ivan Bulic has a very rare voice of special beauty, expressiveness and refined musicality, and before his performance in the Lisinski concert hall, he had about 30 public performances and won an international award for solo singing.
