All my DJ gigs are cancelled (aka my main income is gone) so this is my full time job now. Big thanks to Serato for sponsoring this video (aka they paid me to make this which is cool). I just was flipping around before my shift(essential worker) Thinking about getting my teenagers into something else besides video games. Wow you make that look so easy I owned scratch live in 2005 and played for a couple of years on my turntables and mixer. You got me ready to buy Ableton and dust off my record collection to have some fun. Enjoyed your video you made it look so easy. Thanks you made my Morning. Serato & Ableton should also thank you They just made some money today Once I finish my shift At 56 years old I hope I pick it up Looks like it will be tons of fun with my kids and granddaughter. Sorry to hear about your situation, but boy am I glad to have you producing UA-cam content again! You alone have been so informative and inspiring on my ableton journey over the last few years! Thank you Slynky! Big ups!
I bought Serato sample recently and didnt really understand it. Thought I had just thrown money down the drain. This video was super helpful. Gonna go back to it and see what comes out. Thank you man!
Yeah if the push had pad colors that reflected the Serato Sample cue point colors? That would be dope. I bet there is some nerd out there who can make it happen.
Hey Slynk just discovered you. I'm more stoked to find you than what. I was looking for in the first place. You got an easy to listen too energy. Love it. I am looking for Serato Sample deal and surprised nothing I can find. I see it's $99 now vs $79 when you made the vid. Hope your 25% off still applies. If you know of any deals hit me back I just decided to get it after your sweet video.
What a Great Explanation about this plugin. This bring to Understand this to the Next level. I am a beginner in Ableton Live. Is this plugin also a good alternative for Sample or Simpler? Which device you use to play the sample maybe a Novation of other ? Hopefully more in the future about pitch and time Technik. Many thanks.
Nice ! Perfect period to try and be lost into it ;) Bdw congrats for your videos, learned a lot with them and they are really inspiring, thanks a lot for that man ! Peace 🤙
@Seto Kaiba To me it's easier to manage my pads if I have serato sample in a drum rack. It also allows me to use my Push 2 properly with Serato sample and be able to chop all 32 if need be. If you go to serato sample website, that is the way to setup in ableton.
this will make my french house sample chopping so much nicer after i produce a disco track with instruments first then chop. i really love this!!! thanks for sharing
Great vid! Is there a way to process a full track, changing EITHER the pitch, OR the tempo? I’d like to change the tempo of a track by >10%, and Complex/Complex Pro doesn’t cut it. Can Serato Sample process a track, or do you literally have to load that track into Sample, and re-sample in real-time to a new track in Live?
If you're on Ableton place the full track in serato sampler, place a cue point at the beginning, set the sampler to whatever tempo/pitch you want to change it to. After this create a midi clip with one note on C1 and make the clip as long as the track or longer, then change serato sample play mode to play thru instead of gate and freeze the track, now simple drag the frozen track down to an empty audio track and you will have the full track with key/pitch change. Sounds like a lot but literally takes a few seconds and saves you from having to re-sample in real-time.
It's Recycle but like 20 years late! Being able to pitch change individual slices is nice and weirdly missing from simpler but not that hard with audio. Bought it though... stop making me buy stuff I don't really need! Hope the sale helped you out a bit. :D
THIS IS INSANE... Ableton is already amazing with the simpler/sampler instrument for slicing and making chops.. Do you prefer this over it slynk? IM BUYIN REGARDLESS
I don't prefer Serato Sample over the Ableton sampler/simpler. I think they all have their individual strengths and weaknesses and it's great to have and use all three.
Nice video Mr. Slynk! Although I don't get it. Is it THAT better than using simpler inside Drum Rack? Is time stretch quality really like unbeleivebly better?
It depends on your use case. If you're using drum samples in a drum rack then you probably don't need to be changing the key and tempo of the drum samples. You really just want something that plays the audio clip on command for a drum rack. I wouldn't use serato sample inside a drum rack.
@@Slynk Of course, I get it, I didn't talk about one-shot samples either. I just made a 90's style hiphop sample pack where I used long loops in Simplers inside Drum Rack where I am able to use time stretch. Considering this do you find Serato time stretch quality better than Ableton's Complex Pro time Stretch quality (inside Simpler)?
Ableton complex warping algorithm vs serato sample pitch n time? They sound very similar. But I think pitch n time does a slightly better job. Especially with extreme pitch and tempo changes.
Actually the midi information is coming from Ableton and being sent to Serato Sample because you can think of it as a regular softsynth. So recording midi is exactly the same as recording midi for say.. serum.
@@Slynk Yah it depends on the design. I work in product advertising and 3d visualization. My clients client have put a halt on projects. I'm looking elsewhere.
Check out my Quintuplet and Septuplet tutorials. Also, I have made a tutorial on how to make organic drum fills and another tutorial on how to make phat glitch hop drums. Go digging my friend.
Yes. There are a few different warping algorithms in Ableton that can achieve this. But, like I explain in the video, the Pitch 'n Time algorithm is in a class of its own. I compared it with the Ableton Complex pro algorithm and I believe P'nT does a slightly better job.
There are great things I can do in Ableton's Simpler when it captures transients and "chops" samples automatically in a similar way like Serato or, like in Ableton Sampler, when it allows me to make "synthish" sort of thing out of a sound sample by riding along back and forth and/or starting from different places... And since I've been thinking on migrating to Reaper, this Serato sampler might be a good replacement for Simpler, but not for Sampler. Does anyone know what could be a decent replacement for Ableton's sampling tools? (: thanx!
I have been on reaper for years, and have been on that same quest for years too - finding elegant equivalents for simpler and sampler. Unfortunately you won't find something that has the same kind of integration as simpler/sampler have with Live. You also will find shockingly few solutions that have the simplicity in UI and usability as simpler/sampler (great business idea for anyone in the plugin game!). There are some simpler-like plugins, but most have very limited functionality and still lack that 'magic' that simpler possesses. The best I have come up with is using Battery - it lacks the minimal UI that simpler/sampler have, but has the power and flexibility that most people would desire from such a plugin.
Bro do you even age??????? You look the same as in your 4 year old vids. By the way, your quintuple swing video was great help. I’m new to Ableton in the aspect of WAVs, I’ve always used FL studio but your videos are great help.
LOL! I almost never drink alcohol, I don't smoke anything or do any drugs. I try to eat healthy foods and I exercise regularly. I spend most of my time out of the sun and in the studio. Maybe that has helped.
use this shit with Acon Acoustics 7 remix tools..Mute song's all drums and maybe basses and then have other stems, use them in Serato..U can have 10x more cleaner and smooth samples from a song.

Wow this is awesome!!!! I got this for free having purchased gear that offered this as free software. Didn't know it was this powerful! Thanks man!
Best Serato Sample tutorial out there! Thanks Slynk✌️
This is the most inspiring Serato Sample tutorial that I've ever seen. I'm really hype to get it!
Hats off to you on the use of that Anita Baker track.

This plugin is great for finding good sections on weird resampled sounds, it saves much more time than using Ableton simpler Slice tool.
That's a really good idea. Toss one of those 15min neuro bass sound design audio clips into Serato Sample and "Find Samples"!

will try to support!
Would there be anything to gain from this if i had serato studio?
I got serato Sample LE thinking if it’s worth 50 to upgrade to the full
Not sure if this is covered elsewhere but just how legal is it to do this if you were to release it? Does it depend on the track/sample you use?
Has Serato Studio that same sampling functions as this?
Hey man, cool review. Your code still work for the purchase?
Damn! Got me inspired!
Buying when I get my Stimulus check :P
How can i play the samples on my computer keyboard? im pushing the buttons but it wont work for me unless i click it in my mouse

Just for activation I believe?

True, I didn't even consider using it live!
Can Ableton re-pitch audio without stretching or shortening it?
repitch warp mode does this if im not mistaken
