Born and raised protestant. Now heavily considering Orthodoxy. What he said is so true regarding faith following the lead of parliament. When I was growing up in the 90s, our churches spoke against homosexual marriage frequently. Now that the laws have changed, they've mostly clammed up. They won't support it still, but they dare not speak it.
There's "consensus patrum" in Orthodoxy, which means that any idea is accepted as truth only if Church Fathers spoke about it similarly, and the same way everywhere. But not all Church Fathers, just 3 are selected to look at.
Patriarch Kirill is right that the Orthodox Christian Church has kept the Orthodox Christian faith in tack and whole without compromising a single word of God Holy Church and Faith. God bless His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.
This guy gives the most based and hardcore speeches. I feel amped just listening to him he clearly was born to speak to people. Nobody in politics speaks so confidently, they all dance around issues this man just hammers them head on. Even if you don't agree with him on everything you have to respect that and respect someone who actually lives by a set of principles. He embodies the sort of strength and determination the west seems to no longer have.
I'm a protestant but agree with much of what he says. The problem is that it is a generalization, he is referring to lukewarm specifically, not protestants as a whole. Those who mix Christian theology and the western agenda are lukewarm.

This sounds so much better than any sermon I have heard in my Catholic Church or in a Baptist, Evangelical or Non-Denominational Church. I have been to all these churches in the United States and I can't get a sermon like this. I don't feel at home but rather uneasy in this land that seems more foreign to me everyday. I want to join a monastery as what I see sickens me in society today. My mother turned gay, my sister turned gay, but I have always been against these acts. I am not perfect. Lord knows I have many, many sins to my name. But just because I am a sinner doesn't mean I have to accept sin. I must actively try to correct my sins, my heart, my soul in the name of The Lord. I must ask for His forgiveness daily and I must try my best everyday to be Christlike. My mother is getting "married" to another woman. I will not be attending this unholy event. I have tried to make my sister see the light but she focuses only on her woman and her career and not on God. I still love them both but I do not condone what they do. God have mercy on me, a sinner. God have mercy on us all!
Beautiful sermon from the Russian Patriarch. The way it should be done. Respect from a Roman Catholic!! Praying for you, Orthodox Catholic Brothers. Pray for us, too!!

I'm glad Christianity's having a resurgence in Russia. For the time being the West is less Christian than it used to be, and Russia is more than it used to be. I agree some churches in the West are compromising with weird secular values around them. I disagree with the idea that Protestantism has supposedly failed for all time as he seems to suggest and that Orthodoxy has supposedly never experienced any temporary moral failings, because that happens to every group eventually, even Christian ones. Since Protestant churches aren't under one denomination and centralized leadership some have failed and others have succeeded. Some Protestant denominations and churches abhor and want no part of secularist values. Weren't the Russians part of the Orthodox church before the revolution that brought communism in? Doesn't that represent a failure of Orthodox people living there to resist secular atheistic influence. In America the freedom to practice Christianity has never come under attack the way it did in communist Russia. The secular influence has affected every Christian denomination at times, so don't think it can't happen to Orthodox because they're not Catholic, or Protestant. Be vigilant rather than thinking it can only ever happen to the other two. I don't mean this as anything negative against Orthodox Christianity, just that resisting corruption creeping into their lives, or their church, is something all Christians must do.
As a Serbian Orthodox Swedish-Serb, I am happy and I thank God that I decided to be a member of the true church and not any false Protestant ”church”, such as the ”Church” of Sweden, because they supports LGBT, defends Islam and they have female priests.
The biggest failure in protestantism is that every generation will take Bible into their own translation and intepretation, as there is no real structure, one church will have different views on issues than the others. The meaning of the Bible lost in translations, from Aramaic to Greek, from Greek to Latin, from Latin to German, from German to English, from English to various language, each time translators assume the meaning of words they don't neccessarily understand.
I just love how he speaks with real authority truly divine When I see others speak especially the pope, I feel it is uninspired I have recently converted to orthodox church from non denomination and an so happy I have found the real church amen

I still remember I went to protestant church nearby my house once last year, where everyone sang frantically along with those modern instruments, none of humble&peaceful setted in their mind. After finished worship service, the first thing I did after went back home is to open some hymns sung by monks of Mount Athos, lighting candles while praying to Lord with prayers&that was when I felt safety&comfortable.
I remember going to a church like that back in the mid 1990s. All the loud music (guitars, bass, drumsets) and frothy emotionalism. If you weren't moved by that then, there was a problem with you. "Why, you must be a lukewarm Christian." So much intertwining of pop culture into the services and single adult programs. "Hey, that's the only way we can get some people in here and keep them here." The single adult program seemed like a glorified junior high youth group. I craved substance, but didn't get it. A lot of petty shots taken at both mainline Protestant denominations and the Roman Catholic Church. Never once did I ever hear the Orthodox Church or the eastern Catholic Church mentioned. Looking back, I wonder if they even knew of their existence.

Orthodoxy...our mother and soul we love you purity of faith. Peace from the Coptic Orthodox church in Egypt to all orthodox churches all over the globe.
The Orthodox Church is actually in fact the oldest church, the second being the roman catholic, and third, Anglican. The Anglican Church greatly opposed homosexual practices, so do most other protestant denominations. unfortunately the protestants who try to be 'too modern' and try to 'please everyone' are actually the ones who accept such heresies and abominations in the eyes of God. In the words of Jesus Christ Himself "If they are not against us, they are for us." we as fellow Christians and worshipers of the one and only Almighty and All Holy God, are friends not fiends of the orthodox and catholic church. we only have some disagreements, but we will still remain friends.
As an Anglican, it is sad to see the west fall to such evil. Long may we remaining traditionalist stand with our Orthodox brothers against the sinful reforms of our institutions and the forces of the world influencing our faith. Orthodoxy=Catholicism. East and West have the same Faith. The Ones call it Orthodox and the Others Catholic. They both are Historical and Apostolic Churches! They have the same Creed, The Nicean-Constantinople Creed! The same 7 or 8 Ecumenical Councils
The great apostasy is here, signifying that the end is near. Anyone that truly does the will of my Father is my brother or my sister regardless of their denomination. May God bless you.
@@MM-px3dj i am catholic but i agree patriarch kiril and i am ready to be unit with orthodox church the most important is just to call ourselfs christians ✝️
Same here. I'm a Catholic revert in Ireland and I would nearly join the Irish Orthodox Catholic Church if there was one because so many of our clergy, from parish priests up to the Pope, aren't preaching proper doctrine and are not focussing on their foremost responsibility, which is leading souls to Christ so they may be saved.Pope Francis seems to be bothered about climate change that the moral degeneration in Catholic countries and or the mass falling away! They're too scared to denounce the sin of abortion from the pulpit,or any sin come to that, or to tell the laity that marriage is one man to one woman til death do them part! People will perish for lack of knowledge and this lack is largely due to the failings of our clergy here in Ireland, and in Rome herself. I can understand the draw to Orthodoxy.I just wish we could re-unite and that we could have a Vocar of Christ who would do as Christ asked St.Peter to do and feed His sheep!
Yes, I've noticed in many "Catholic" parishes (and this might be exclusively an American phenomenon), that Protestant spirituality is replacing Catholic spirituality, yet they are not abandoning Orthodox theology. This is what the Moscow patriarch means in this video when he says that today, the dogmas of the Church itself "are not in danger". What IS in danger is our traditions; they are being cast aside in favor of TRENDS. Why do Christians feel a need for the Church to be a part of pop-culture or vice-versa? Once must recognize the difference between "contemporary" and "trendy".

I converted from protestantism to Orthodoxy, anyone who reads the Fathers or even looks at history for longer than 5 minutes will see there is only One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Orthodox Church!
Yes. Comparing the writing of the Saints what they said previously, and what they say now, its easy to make the correlation. Read what popes say then vs what they say now, and they side with Orthodoxy. Historical studies verify this quite readily too, not to mention simply reading the scriptures. Protestants have to say the Church failed, when Christ said it would never fail, and they "saved" it by everyone interpreting the scriptures the way you want to. Even though the set of canonical scriptures comes from none other than the Ecumenical Councils of the Orthodox Catholic Church. Its pride and stupidity.
OrthodoxAnswers Amen I am Roman Catholic from the cradle but I love Orthodox Church their rites and divine liturgy and I fell more close to God than in the faith of my ancestors. My Roman church is a mess so many scandals lot of faith doubt in Christ etc. I am attending a Roman church unfortunately the orthodox churches are closing because the members are moving out and the only one is a the Egypt church that I feel much love ❤️ for them. When my comes I will die as orthodox. God bless my brothers and sisters.☦️⛪️❤️
I am a very Conservative Baptist. I have more in common with Bro. Cyril than I do with much of the liberalization of culture in the West. Us Conservative Christians in the U.S have more in common with our Christian brethren in Russia than with the liberals in our own culture. Many of us Conservative Christians in the South, Appalachia and Midwest will NOT fold. We will hold the line with the Lord's strength. God Bless Bro. Cyril.
As a protestant I really have to say, we have to come out of this darkness of liberalism and multicultural garbage. We really should orientate us more on the Russian Orthodox Church.
Beautiful and truthful words from His Holiness. Total respect from this Latin Rite Catholic. Would to God that our Catholic shepherds were as bold in the declaration of the truth. Pray for us.
In large part he is why I left atheism for Orthodoxy. What strong words. Growing up secular Lutheran, I thought that was all to Christianity. It's quite nice to type, "I was wrong". This is Christianity! This is God's word! Thank you.
As a Protestant I affirm this message, although any Eastern readers should know there are many strong Protestant churches that defend the Truth and do not cave to their surrounding society. I wish there was a way the Orthdox church could reach out a hand and help them, I'm sure they would appreciate it and respect such a positive and loving example of Christ's proactive love. Many lose jobs for rejecting homosexual marriage, or are excluded from academic communities for rejecting post-modernism. God bless the Orthodox Church until the day we are all united with Christ. Pray for those of us in the West.
As a believing Protestant I would agree with much of what Patriarch Cyril said, especially with regards to the blessings of same sex "marriages", but I would not count these people as Protestants or Christians for that matter.
As an Orthodox Christian, I agree! Some Protestants lost their way , but thete are still many chirches that do not engage in such ridiculuous practices.
Amen. I was feeling a little uncomfortable in this comment section. Liberal RC Americans were among the first Christian group to support the gay machine, especially in Michigan and New York. 44% of American Catholics today still support gay 'marriage', so it ain't just protestant groups. It's everything, and everyone, the whole civilization.
Anglicanism also failed. I had witnessed why Anglicanism failed. I already leave Anglicanism since last year, struggled to looking for Orthodoxy because my place didn't have any Orthodox Church.

Yes, but it fooled many. And as the end times are coming close, it will be more and more clear that orthodox church is the Church, and that other heresies will show their true colores.
I do not know if you know this, but if you do not know it, I'll tell you ... the Orthodox Christian church is not Protestant, the Protestants, as the name says, are the ones who protested against the Roman Catholic Church, and if once all the denominations of Christianity, Anglicans, Lutherans, Evangelicals ... they are all Protestants because they separated from the Catholic Church, they made the decision to separate themselves from the Catholic Church, for their monetary benefit and personal interest, but the orthodox church NEVER, separated from the Roman Catholic church, EVER, it was a pope who separated them, excommunicating them, the Catholic Church makes the decision to separate.
That's how logical arguments work, friend. You can't believe something is true without believing everything that does not fall in line with it is untrue.

I’m a muslim and i agreed with the Patriarch. He speaks the truth. Catholic and Protestant keep silence when western christian do opposite with Christian teaching.
As a protestant I have become worried by the emphasis that is placed solely on God's love for humanity without any recognition for God's holiness. Only when you truly understand God's holiness and its importance can you truly appreciate God's love.
My Orthodox brothers and sisters, please lets unite. If we do not unite (John 17), it is us who will have a large millstone placed around our necks. If the Orthodox and the Catholics heal the schism, the Protestants will have a chance to come to the True Christ and His True Church. Blessings from America.
Patriarch Kiril is such a powerful defender of the Christian Church. He is not afraid to confront the moral corruption that seems to be infiltrating the western Christian mindset. Russia and Christianity as a whole are lucky to have such a man. God bless the Church and men like Patriarch Kiril!!!
I’m a young american raised Protestant and turned atheist and now I’ve realized how wrong I am, how selfish and materialistic I am. I need God in my life, I want to raise a family to know God and I’ve always felt something missing from my own church. I went to catholic mass once I thought of becoming catholic but there were so many concepts I just reject like the idea of purgatory, indulgences, and the blasphemer pope Francis and I found that the Orthodox Church had none of that heresy in their church and that’s it’s really based and that the community of people in it are really traditionalist who don’t give into the political demands of Israel and secular materialist. I’m now really thinking of joining the Orthodox Church, as much as my Protestant parents may reject it I hope I can be instrumental in showing them the path to the orthodox faith as well.
I was Prot for 24 years, and became Catholic in 2019. We desperately need unity in the church. When some "pastors" are giving in to the zeit geist of Modernism, we know we are heading down a dark path. We must pray fro our brothers and sisters who have been beguiled, my own family is among them. I alone out of my family converted and am saddened that I may need to leave them behind. But I'll still always pray for them and all of our siblings in the faith.
I am Chilean. In my country the Prostestantism is growing and growing in replace of Roman Catholic church. They are egoist and violent. However the Catholic Church never speaks of recent problems of the world. I used to be Catholic and I became Orthodox three years ago.

Prayers for you. Lord, have mercy. +
Lord have mercy.
God bless you brother and may he have mercy
Keep going. It sounds like you are already a convert.
Orthodoxy is the true faith!
Christianity* is the True Faith Brother
Orthodoxy=Catholicism. East and West have the same Faith. The Ones call it Orthodox and the Others Catholic. They both are Historical and Apostolic Churches! They have the same Creed, The Nicean-Constantinople Creed! The same 7 or 8 Ecumenical Councils

I’m returning to what Rome should always have been, Western Orthodoxy!
The great apostasy is here, signifying that the end is near. Anyone that truly does the will of my Father is my brother or my sister regardless of their denomination. May God bless you.
This man speaks the truth.
Amen from a Catholic brother in Christ 🙏 He delivers a very powerful message that resonates beyond Christian divisions
I am Roman Catholic, but I agree with everything he says, we need unity and hold sacred to tradition
@@MM-px3dj Look, this is why we cannot go along, we Catolics respect others, they are might be wrong but we can not force them. from Your words lurking conceitnes. We agree and respect with words of Ciril, but mind You he speaks from under the wings of Putin, he no worries about the frontal attack of the forces who just waiting for any occasion. Finally, You do not seek unity? That is fine by us, God will be the judge.
I converted from protestantism to Orthodoxy, anyone who reads the Fathers or even looks at history for longer than 5 minutes will see there is only One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, the Orthodox Church!
God bless you my brother from Serbian Orthodox brother
OrthodoxAnswers Amen
OrthodoxAnswers Same.👍🏻
Wonderful wake up call to all orthodox Christians from Ethiopia 🇪🇹.
Cyril.
This message needs to be heard in the midst of Pride Month.
Not to long, I'm going to the origin of Christian faith i can hear the voice calling, please pray for my journey....
In the case neomarxism most of Polish-Catholics stands on the same side with our Russian brothers in faith.
By the grace of God I found the True Faith and look forward to being Chrismated Holy Saturday
God bless!
I know! Russian Protestants even in Australia do NOT support this charasmatic takeover.
I agree. I'm Calvinist(though I'mnot religious) and it is only '21th century' Protestantism. Protestantism were very simple and conservative.
This is why I'm planning on going to convert to orthodoxy
As a protestant from Finland, I totally agree - We have failed
Anglicanism also failed. I had witnessed why Anglicanism failed. I already leave Anglicanism since last year, struggled to looking for Orthodoxy because my place didn't have any Orthodox Church.
I know how you feel. I used to be Anglican, I am now Orthodox and travel 70 miles to church.
I AM in the process of becoming a Catholic under the auspices of Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults ( RCIA) @Sacred Heart Catholic Church here in Tucson, Arizona, when ,on, Saturday 11 April 2020AD, I will have undergone Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. I look forward to a New Life and Love of GOD and Jesus Christ of Nazareth.🇺🇸🇻🇦✝️📖🙏⛪⚔️
God bless you and bless the Russian Church From Lebanon 🇱🇧☦️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm Moroccan Ex-muslim
First I want to become Maronite Catholic but I research for holy orthodox church I found it so much beautiful
I found the sacred orthodox Chants like Agni parthene 🙏☦, Hristos anesti ☦...
I can't wait to orhodox baptism ☦🙏
MOROCCO have three orthodox churches two Russian and one Greek
I mean I agree but Protestantism has been a failure since its conception
Hi, Jesus face, I guess that you find every religion a failure, but yours... interesting, no?
That's how logical arguments work, friend. You can't believe something is true without believing everything that does not fall in line with it is untrue.
Savio Biogen as catholic lest pray the Church of Rome became s one ☝️ in unity’s the the Eastern Church Christ let one church and I bet that he is very happy😭
that hymn at the end, what’s it’s name? it’s beautiful.

Me:
I’m a muslim and i agreed with the Patriarch. He speaks the truth. Catholic and Protestant keep silence when western christian do opposite with Christian teaching.
Jesus Christ is our church.
I'm a Muslim - respect to my Orthodox Cousins for holding the line on social issues.
As a traditional Catholic, I wish the Catholic Church would be more like our orthodox brothers and less like the protestants.
God bless this man and God bless the orthodox church, the one true church and the only one that will survive until the end of this world.
As a protestant I have become worried by the emphasis that is placed solely on God's love for humanity without any recognition for God's holiness. Only when you truly understand God's holiness and its importance can you truly appreciate God's love.
We Serbs did not even send our patriarch to council of Florence.
Stay Steel, brother. Сталью и силой, когда нибудь, когда нибудь.
God bless the Russian Orthodox Church. Yes, we are to live in the image of God, of Christ.
In the World of nonstopable postmodernism we have no "right" or "wrong". Only "authority" and "fighting for..."
Shigidaropupay Pups это слишком постмодернистски :D
So glad that the Orthodoxy church is staying faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ!
Notice how the women have head coverings
Господе Исусе Христе сине Божји помилуј нас грешне❤❤Поздрав свим добрим људима на свету. Живеле Русија и Србија браћа заувек❤❤❤❤
True. I never agreed with Sola Scriptura. “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:26
I am a Protestant (Reformed Presbyterian) to be specific, but I do agree with most of what he said.
I'm converting Orthodox but many protestant stand with us. Love from America bishop please help keep peace, our society will die and the east will pick up the pieces, no need for more blood
God Bless, from the United States. Not Orthodox myself, but support your brave stance on traditional values. Wish people in the Episcopal faith, which I was raised in, would do the same.
He is like an awesome hybrid of apostle Paul and Saint John the baptist. Look at his rhetoric it's on fire
Masha Allah, may Allah gives us right hidayah to thinking like u to everyone orthodox Christian nd our brothers..nd iam a muslim
BASED! Learn this now Protestants you have failed, come to the light of the old faith where eternal truths persist from the dawn of time.
Many christians in Europe and America are getting weak for their love to the world but there are till this day strong Baptist, Methodist, Pentecostal, Presbyterian, who are building their families and preaching The Gospel to the world. It is not over.
