I think it's really cool and helpful that you're comfortable demonstrating both masc and femme vocal examples. Hearing the different notes, timbre, and articulation played on the same instrument is so important, and I know a lot of trans women are understandably uncomfortable returning to masc voices, even if they (like you) couldn't pass as a cis man anymore to save their life!

So, I tried a bit of vocal training pretty soon after realising I was trans... and I wasn't happy with it. It sounded kinda ok, but missing something, and didn't sound natural. So I 'put it on the shelf'.
Over the following, say, 18 months, I was able to shed a lot of the 'protective repression' I'd built when younger, which let my natural self come to the fore. Part of this was my voice shifting to have more of that 'gay accent' - I wasn't forcing it, I just wasn't forcing myself to *not* do it.
When I picked the vocal training back up, it instantly sounded more natural - it had been missing those feminine affectations.

Majel Barrett had an absolutely ICONIC voice. It's so weird that every company phone tree and digital assistant now has the same featureless Midwest US voice as a default, when the quintessential Futuristic Technology Voice was so rich and distinctive.

I grew up watching Regular Show.
One thing they always say is YEYAH, so I kinda do that and practice from there.
    It’s a start.

I think your explanation is so clear and so helpful, I never thought of this as a pre hormone transwoman and this is going to be so helpful!
I just through I needed to change my voice as a higher pitch, I was so wrong 😅!
Thank you so much for helping new transwomen find their voices, your an angel 😇!

This is actually a topic I've been trying to figure out for a while. but haven't been able to find that much information about, even in places dedicated to fem voice training,
There is surprisingly very little content that goes over the benefits of doing a gay voice when trying to make your voice sound more feminine so this is a great resource of information.
Would it be ok to ask how you went about doing or learning how to do the "Gay Voice" specifically, there is almost no content or tutorials that teach how to do a gay voice impression, or at least none that I could find. I think it would be really helpful to have someone that knows how to do a good gay voice impression go over and teach how to do or imitate a gay voice to sound more fem when speaking, especially for all of us that aren't very good at imitation accents or doing impressions.

This is a very welcome reminder of the significance of pushing yourself into "uncomfortable" territory in order to continue improving -- Put it this way, if you're at a block in your progress, IT'S TIME TO TRY THINGS YOU HAVEN'T DONE YET and see how that sounds. Record yourself. Have "a day" where you can put it down to "being in a mood" if you're concerned about how others are going to react to your difference. You might discover that the discomfort comes from not having enough positive feedback about a sound you make, NOT because the sound you make is bad. It challenges your own preconceptions.
The stigma and internalised -phobias can be strong... Be kind to yourself peeps xX ❤

The more I learn about the scientific side of voice training the more fascinated I am by what I did completely accidentally. Going through puberty I was kicking myself so much because my voice didn't do the thing other boys voices did where it would just drop one day. Due to the fact that I speak in a more feminine way, having been raised by a single mother and never really connecting with a male identity at a young age (oh boy do I wonder why that might be), I sounded entirely like a girl until I was maybe 15 or 16 and only then there was the start of a VERY gradual shift, which again, frustrated me to no end at the time.
What I realize now is that I was basically subconsciously continuing to talk in a higher pitch *despite* the biological changes except eventually those changes did catch up to me but only my natural register changed so to this day I can just get in the zone and do my other voice because it's still completely there. I basically did voice training for like 10 years without realizing how insanely useful that would be way down the line now that I identify as gf/nb.
The ability to just pull out an at-worst androgynous and at-best decently feminine voice on the severely dysphoric days is such a crazy ace to have up my sleeve, even if I will visually never pass as fem because of my height (and don't necessarily aim to do that), this still eases the pain on bad days A LOT. Probably helps that I've been voice acting on and off for most of that time as well just collecting character voices all over the place that I can try to tune into to the extent that my autistic ass regularly forgets which one my actual natural voice is which confuses the living shit out of people. I had a day recently where I attended university classes and before I even got there while getting food I noticed my "boy-voice" was just GONE. Couldn't do it, wasn't there, forgot how to access it. So the expressions on my professors whenever I asked any questions that day where a sight to behold... Hasn't happened since and it really only spooked me while it was going on but oh boy was it a sign for me to look into more of the professional side of voice training to have better vocal control and not have that happen ever again.

I've spent 2 years achieving what you've demonstrated here as feminine vocal sex but masculine vocal gender.. i've always been terrible with accents and putting on voices mostly because of my shame. Thanks for making the missing piece so obvious
