What I love about neutral Infinity is that it makes Gojo untouchable the vast majority of the time, but it is also his greatest weakness as it makes him complacent against unknown threats as the list of what can breach it is so small. This led to both his defeats.

This is the same term Gojo used to describe [Purple] in Chapter 75, where it was translated as 'imaginary mass.'
What is Virtual Mass?
In physics, there's a concept called 虚擬質量 (virtual mass), where an object behaves as if it has one mass, but it actually has a different mass. That roughly mirrors the behavior of Yuki's technique; she and her shikigami interact with the world as if they have an effective mass different from their real mass.
This phenomenon is surprisingly common, given the right context. Computing motion in a vacuum is easy, but when an object moves through a fluid, or a charged particle moves through a metal, you have to consider the force exerted on it by what it displaces or by its interactions with the surrounding material. It turns out you can model this behavior accurately simply by assigning the object an appropriate 'virtual mass.'
What is Imaginary Mass?
The term 'imaginary mass' is misleading because it's also an established physics concept for a mass that becomes negative when squared. However, the established translation for that concept is 虚質量, so it seems unlikely that's what the 虚擬 in the raw text is referring to.
Perhaps Akutami-sensei wasn't thinking about physics at all, though. Given what we know, 'virtual' still seems a more accurate adjective. Something that is 'imaginary' does not exist at all; something that is 'virtual' is not truly real, but it behaves as if it exists. Both Yuki's technique and Gojo's Purple have a presence in the real world that makes them 'virtual' rather than 'imaginary.'

Purple's "imaginary mass" is likely a reference to theoretical particles called tachyons which has a negative squared mass so its likely that Gojo is creating a negative mass, something he references when saying "-1 apples" in hidden inventory, which I think would allow you to interpret purple as just using the matter it comes into contact with to return it to a neutral 0 from the negative

To explain Purple simply, it combines the ideas of space expanding and collapsing at the same time. This causes anything touched by it to be torn/smashed apart at an atomic level, leading to an entirely eviscerated state that is essentially erasure.

Gojo is the NUH UH I HAVE A SHIELD kid. Mahito is that one guy who's always IT and who no one can seem to tag. Megumi is the kid who brings his toys which always break. Junpei is the quiet kid who people kinda like but he had to leave early. And then you have Sukuna as that one kid who's just like "Well I just punched really hard through your invulnerability" Nanami is like the parent supervising.

Infinity only makes sense if it infinitely halves the velocity of the approaching object. 10 feet is 10 feet regardless of how much you segment it. If an object is traveling 10 ft/s it is going to reach Gojo in a second unless it has to pause at each interval (which doesn't seem to be the case).
Honestly Gege would be better off just calling infinity "Plot Armor" because mathematically there are a lot of things that SHOULD bypass it that don't.
But I also take issue with Sukuna's "World Slash" I originally though that this technique applied itself to everything within a predefined area (like telekinesis). This would have been a very clever way to bypass a technique that manipulates travel time. But then it was revealed that the world slash does indeed travel AND CAN BE DODGED....
The JJK community thrives off of speculating on vague concepts introduced by Gege that he almost never delivers on. Time ans time again I see ya'll hype yourselves up with amazing theories only to have it revealed to be a lot less interesting.
World slash travelling isn't actually concrete, you can dodge remote things.

my personal explanation is that our space is all positive numbers
Neutral infinity = Infinite division by 2 so moving from 1 to 0 will be 0.5, 0.25, 0.125, 0.0625... and so on never reaching 0
Blue = Negative numbers, so 5 - 1 = 4 so the space is being sucked in because of a negative number that reality tries to make up for
Red = Positive numbers that are infinitely large, normal cursed energy is already in the negative and positive cursed energy takes more cursed energy because it mixes those two cursed energies, so it will be -5 x -5 = 25
Purple almost works like matter erasure, because it simultaneously pulls and pushes the thing it comes in contact with on molecular level and if it can't withstand this simultaneous push and pull, it will look like it got erased since it's happening on molecular level.
This isn't easy to counter, but it CAN be countered with Cursed energy reinforcement to defend against it.
Gojo has a huge amount of CE to begin with and also he can replenish his CE father than he uses in normal usage. So he puts in a LOT Of CE into his purple attack and there aren't many who can withstand that much high CE output attack with their own CE reinforcement.
Sukuna also is a beast and he was the only one to be able to withstand it because he also has crazy amounts of CE and his understanding of cursed energy is also on another level which obviously helps him to use CE very efficiently.

In my opinion, probably not. Sukuna despises weakness so I don't think any level of respect would have saved their lives there, I think they would have needed to really have something to offer Sukuna (and not just the locations of fingers) because they weren't strong enough for him to 'play' with like Jogo. So yeah I think it was a fool's errand from the start, but they couldn't have known that.
How I see it is that, for curse technique lapse, Gojo is pushing more and more space into a point. suppose he puts 1cm cube, then 2cm cube, keep adding 1+2+3+...= -1/12 (fun stuff). He is literally creating negative space. So everything gets pulled into it to nullify the negative space. The whirlpool of matter speeds up the closer it gets to the singularity, and in this process, surpasses the speed of light in air, this emits blue light (a fun phenomenon seen in nuclear reactors, known as cherenkov radiation).
Okay I'm a little sad about the cop-out on the explanation for purple but I'll take it. I always thought it worked like a quasar. A black hole that's eaten too much so space matter gets spit back out, very fast and strong. So it's sucking and pushing space back out at the same time.
I just assume that Gojo's barrier technique is akin to approaching zero. Basically the input (x-value) of the function gets closer and closer to zero without actually reaching visualize as x=>+/- ∞ (inifnity symbol). x could be 0.00000000001, and it will never reach zero. His brain is basically a quantum computer. His true power could be much more OP than you think. Imagine he‘s in Nirvana outside of time and space dimensions. Only limitation is his physical form. Gojo character is based on quantum physics. The idea of quantum superposition is quite obvious in his power. If he dwells in higher dimensions (where we‘re living in), he could erase our existence easily. Imagine you watch 3D movie on a 2D screen with bare eyes. You cannot see the depth! He has to be Tengen (without merging) to enable this. First time he gets to taste higher dimension is when he‘s trap in the cube by Kenjaku. I think Kenny plans this all along. He hopes Gojo figure it out how to live outside of reality. Another way to go out from reality is by death. And now he is death!

After the battle of Sukuna I think Sukuna just exploited the weakness of neutral limitless. It's a barrier that *surrounds* Gojo . Again *surround*. So Sukuna extending his target in space with 'Extended dismantle' without Targeting Gojo makes sense a way to bypass infinity. neutral infinity won't filter it since the target is not Gojo .
To me. Purple is an atomizing, rending force. The outer circumference is both pushing and pulling. It's like the raw kinetic impact of a car hitting you while inertia tries to keep you where you are. Except its constantly happening to every atom it touches.

I think it’d be p cool if it was show other members of the gojo clan who possesed the limitless but have a very restricted ability to utilise it because of the lack of the six eyes. I.e they could only use indiscriminate blasts of blue or red or instead of precisely tuning their applications of the technique to the situation then instead have to set up situations to use a pre-calculated version of the technique like space themselves a certain distances away then apply it
Lol uh how can you say you don't need to know the math when the math is what allows the requirements of the technique to be as precise as they are. Fact is: in order to properly write a genuine genius of the limitless technique you'd have to at least understand the basics of math that allows for Gojo to use any of the applications of limitless
Purple might not be matter erasure, but blue sure is. If its really creating space that matter is pulled into because of the vaccuum, then where does all the stuff go after disengaging blue? If it wasn't deleting everything that was pulled into it, then it should create a red with an equal force afterwards to empty itself out.

Are you sure the six eyes can't be turned off? Cause on Toji vs Gojo it really seemed that the opening Toji created was getting Gojo to turn it off and sneak up on him. That is reforced when it is showed that gojo as a kid was able to spot toji behing him. Maybe Gojo uses the blindfolds because he'd rather keep it on 24/7 with some stress than have exploitable weaknesses like the one that gave him his first real loss.
He didn't turn off six eyes he let infinity down because pre-awakening it's taxing to keep up all the time.

My argument is that toji was trying to avoid getting spotted, not avoid being blocked by infinity, he had the inverted spear of heaven for that. Considering that the moment when kid gojo saw him is highlighted when toji is talking about his plans, i guess its safe to assume he was primarily dodging the six eyes, not the limitless.

The six eyes can detect Toji but not Gojo himself. It doesn't boost his reaction speed it just warns him and tells him of any dangers. As we saw with the WCS, and Toji backstabbing him at the beginning.

That doesn't even makes sense, since the effect of the six eyes is expressed through gojo's capability of receiving and processing shit tons of information to the point that his perception of time is dilated.
Yes, gojo was tired, but the thing is he felt safe and let his guard down, that is a fact. I believe he turned of his six eyes at that moment, and if you take the anime for evidence, you can even see his eyes lose the glow as an indication of him turning it off

You're no longer just traversing the infinity. You are physically relocating in an instance. Let's say Todo gets impaled by 30 spikes then claps with Gojo?

My problem with understanding infinity, is that by the logic of the neutral aplication of it (the barrier that stops everything by creating infinite space), weaponizing it should result in red, not blue, in other words creating infinite distance between you and something, if you amplify that, you should push things away from you, then the reversal of that should be attracting things. It's like Gege got mixed up and flipped what red and blue were supposed to be.
Not true. Remember Cursed Energy is negative energy inherently. So it works as expected. Blue is attraction because Cursed Energy is negative. Creating infinite space+ adding Negative Energy= creating infinite attraction= blue. Reserved Cursed Technique= Cursed Energy+ Cursed Energy. Meaning 1 negative energy+ 1 negative energy= 1 positive energy, which is Reverse Curse Technique= positive energy. So Reverse Curse Technique (positive energy+) + creating infinite space = amplifying infinite space with positive energy= red (repulsion).

Gojo's Neutral Infinity basically makes him an asymptote
You see the world slash working against infinity makes no sense to me because Gojo brings these concepts into reality so they're technically there and as shown it has to somewhat travel. The cut should've never reached Gojo. It's like he purposely lowered Gojo's abilities to give Sukuna the win.
the reason why world slash worked against infinity is because sukuna didn't just target Gojo and his infinity, he targeted the very space that Gojo was in. Imagine Gojo and Sukuna on a two different pieces of paper and Sukuna is just sending regular dismantles at him which will never reach him because of infinity. So instead, Sukuna cuts the entire paper that Gojo is on in half, which even Gojo cannot escape from because he's confined to the paper. Infinity also can't protect him because he's not aiming for Gojo, but the paper itself. Everything that is on the paper gets cut up the same way.

Day 3 of asking for an answer to this question.
What happens when a binding vow is made and the one who completes their side (Say Sukuna and Kenny since Sukuna didnt finish his side) and Kenny "died" what happens to the side who didnt complete their part? Is the binding vow revoked or is that a possibility to why Sukuna is getting jumped
The vow is revoked since one of the dealers can’t possibly meet their part of the vow. Example is when kenjaku mentioned to yuki in s2 finale talking about him making a deal with all the ancient sorcerers and strong curse spirits to get sealed so that later they can be part of the culling games. But ever since he got geto’s body and has access to curse manipulation ct, that vow regarding specifically to curse spirits got revoked since now he can just absorb them and do whatever he wants with them, but the vow still applies for the ancient sorcerers.
See my issue is with how it was used to kill hanami.. It's the barrier is creating more space, then there's nothing pushing against her, that space is just being closed
Thought about that as well,I think I've got an explanation:
It happened because of Domain Amplification. As you know,Gojo's neutral infinity doesn't create an actual wall that stops you,it just slows you down infinitely. By using DA,Hanami went through that neutral infinity. Gojo then strengthened the neutral infinity so that Hanami couldn't use it to get through. But Hanami's DA was still active and trying to penetrate. At this point,there was a sort of wall created between Hanami and Gojo. Hanami was in some way trying to burst through that wall using DA.
It is this wall that Hanami got crushed under. Not the neutral infinity itself,but rather the sort of barrier which was created from Hanami trying to push through the infinity and the infinity not allowing it.
If Hanami had not been using DA,that probably wouldn't have happened.
That's why Gojo warned Hanami that she shouldn't try to use DA in that injured state,as it would indeed just backfire.

think in another perspective, in Gojo's POV, he could say that Hanami (and the whole world) was moving in his direction (remember your physics classes, motion is *relative* ), now remember that since Hanami is a 3 dimensional being, the front and back of her body were in slightly different distances when in relation to Gojo, when Infinity activates on Hanami, it stops first the front of her body, since her body is one continuous thing, that would normally stop her entire body, but, since relative to Gojo, the wall is pushing her to him, the front of her body stops, but not the back, so the back of her body is pushed by the wall and Gojos Infinity wont allow her to go fowards, so she is crushed, technically, by the wall

So when someone tries attacking their ct on you, as it touches the amplification barrier, it nullifies it. That’s why jogo and hanami wanted to use it so when they tried punching gojo, as the infinity touches the amplification barrier, it’s slowly getting nullified.
What gojo did to counter act this tho is weaken hanami by turning off his ct so that hanami thinks there’s no need to use amplification if gojo isn’t even using his ct, and the moment she started using her ct (amplification is off), gojo damaged her. So after when she turned on her amplification again, she wasn’t strong enough to keep it at a higher level so gojo just strengthened his own ct to crush her.
