Things would have been so much different if the Seer didn't summon Cole and power him up with the hollow. Only thing is, Phoebe and the sisters would have been whipped out by the Source if he hadn't have worked with the Seer. Best character on the show, Leo is a close second though
I'm not 100% positive of this but, I believe the reason the writer's made him "evil" & made Phoebe so cold to him had something to do with the fact that Cole's actor (can't think of his name) was leaving Charmed to be on the show, Nip/Tuck (I think that's the name of it) But, I completely agree, Cole was an awesome character. After becoming good, he did everything he could to protect not only Phoebe but, Piper & Paige as well. I'd actually started to write a fan-fiction about Charmed in which Cole was separated from his demonic side... A.K.A. Belthazar
Julian McMahon was in fact leaving Charmed to move on - this was stated in a press conference back when they announced this to the world - because he felt they had done all they could with the character. The casting of Nip/Tuck (as Dr. Christian Troy) didn't happen until some time after that decision was made, but time-wise it did turn up very fortuitously for Julian.
Yeah, Julian didnt like what happen to his character after losing his powers. He was a great Belthazar (I know he wasnt the actor) part. He didnt like being an useless sidekick for the girls and he was like a love sick puppy following Phoebe around. They should have kept his powers and just help the girls but do other stuff behind their back but for good but getting caught every so often. At least he had guest spots here and there.
You're all talking about your hatred for Phoebe. But she's protecting herself from reliving the same mistake again. She already became things she didn't want to because of her love for Cole. Cole's become things he didn't want to because of the draw to use utimate power. He's a good man and I think she admits it. He's just a good man with too much power and power over her emotions.
What kills me is the moment he takes off his wedding ring... probably didn't want it to be vanquished with him.
