The reason the zumwalt is the cheapest is because it's mostly used for testing, and isn't deployed as often as other ships, If it was a fully deployed ship, the cost would be somewhere around 170 million per year, which is still very good for a ship that size.

Each one counts as a landing for the purposes of proficiency, and in order to remain combat-certified, every naval aviator has to have a certain amount of hours and touchdowns on the boat, or they can be grounded until they re-certify.

For a battleship to be effective today it would need to be designed from scratch be nuclear powered have CLGG primary guns ETC secondaries be filled with hypersonic missiles and lasers
The original replacement proposal for the ticonderiga was a 30,000T nuclear powered "super-zumwalt " battlecruiser

If you watch our Zumwalt video, where we talk about it in more details, one of the reasons that was used to justify spending so much money on Zumwalt’s construction was the amount of automation that heavily reduced its crew size.

These numbers are insane, the US spends more than $2100 per year per US citizen on the military
Explains why there's no money left for free health care...
@@hevi2866 here in Italy free healthcare (when you got it, for some check you must wait over a year) is 53% of the total expenses (similar to 53% of federal budget). Me personal is around 500,00 € per month for myself of 3.000,00 € income (2.000,00 € net plus 1.000,00 € taxes).
Remind we never choose hospital or doctor, we accept it randomly good or bad does not matter.
There are some small local taxes to add about 200,00 € monthly
I believe is similar to what an insurance cost per person in US but again I believe you got a better and faster service. I could be wrong...

Maybe not, one reason the ammo is so expensive is because they cancelled most of the planned ships in the class. With volume comes price reductions.

Why does he say there are so many support personnel per ship for the Zumwalt class? Unless he is counting isic and general support like medical etc., but they serve multiple ships or the base in general, and aren’t dedicated support personnel.
