  • In this video, I'm canning Spaghetti Sauce without meat using the recipe that is in the current edition of the National Center For Food Home Preservation. It requires pressure canning due to all the low acid foods that are in the recipe. I also explain altitude along with its processing time, in this video and how to read the chart in the recipe

I canned pasta sauce earlier this week. I like the way you calculated how much you needed to reduce it to get the volume you wanted. A tip I'll use in the future!

I love the way you measured and marked a skewer to determine how much to reduce the sauce to get the desired yield. I will be using that tip!

Hi LeAnn! I’m planning on doing pasta sauce next week, perfect timing. I love mushrooms in anything that I can use them in. You are always so thorough with the details, makes me want to can something, lol. Your pasta sauce looks amazing. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed weekend!

Oh my goodness that cute little ball of fluff behind you as you're measuring the water in the pot. Such a cutie of a kitty!
Pasta sauce looks yummy too, but I've not done the math to see is it's still cost effective if I'm using store bought tomatoes (either fresh or from a can). We weren't really able to grow a garden this year, we didn't have a house until September lol.

I just finished 48 pints of spaghetti sauce. Just me so easier not to waste. Now for tomato sauce and stewed tomatoes. I'll have to try this recipe next time.

Fab tip on the reduction and another great tutorial. I have a little 'stirrer' envy at the moment, I won't lie. Looking forward to your next video, blessings to you and yours from rural England.

Great video! I am going to do spaghetti sauce tomorrow. I ran my tomatoes through a Squeeze-o and froze the sauce because I didn’t have the time to can when my tomatoes were ready. The squeez-o is super messy, too!! Don’t think there is less mess, lol! 😂 I dehydrate all of my pulp and seeds and then grind in my electric coffee mill to make tomato powder. Equal parts tomato powder to water makes tomato paste.

Loved this video, LeAnne ! I thought I had the perfect sauce recipe, then somehow it's been lost!! I'm always looking for a new recipe! And the pot stirrer your husband made.....wow! Great idea and design!💜
BTW.... it's ham balls for supper here tonight😉

@MennoniteFarmhouse so frustrating, but I've turned the house upside down looking for the recipe! I'm assuming it must've got caught in with other papers and was thrown out! Oooo I the pineapple jam sounds amazing, especially with ham!!

I just did 14 quarts of quartered tomatoes, 12 quarts of spaghetti sauce, 14 quarts and 3 pints of BBQ sauce over the last 2 weeks. Now, I'm working on making apple butter, apple pie filling, apple sauce, caramel apple jam, dehydrated cinnamon chips and apple fruit leather. A friend of ours asked us to come pick as many apples as we wanted for free, we ended up with 12 5 gallon buckets full. So I have a lot of work ahead of me...😂 It took me 5 hours today to get 6lbs of apples peeled, cored and diced into the crockpot tonight for apple butter.❤ Have a Blessed weekend! 🙏❤️

Your house must have smelled amazing while that sauce was cooking. Did you make spaghetti for you and your husband that day? Can’t imagine walking in to a house full of that aroma without spaghetti for dinner! Your tutorials are always so complete. And that tip at the end about tasting before canning is so wise but so often overlooked by us. Thanks for another great video.
