I’m just wondering if Umbrella still around RE4 made things about umbrella vague Ik Luis says Umbrella done for but is Umbrella just struggling to survive but still around or gone for good we know there was an “efforts made to try and get everyone with links to umbrella from law enforcement and the government” but it seems to of not worked since Luis got away while the Higher ups seem to of gotten away with it. I think the Higher ups are responsible for Blue Umbrella or the connections connecting to the past these remakes sell well yes but it’s building up to something 2 and 3, 3 especially set up Jill vowing to take Umbrella down so why would Capcom get rid of them in a remake of 4 they left it vague and never explained anything hopefully they rewrite it with a CV remake or RE5 Remake 4 had the mold and we saw Luis was the one that made Nemesis RE4 always been it’s own story so I never expected Umbrella to be the big bad but idk if there gone or not you could read it either way you want with enough framing it how you want so its confusing 🫤 hopefully 9 explains this and it’s a takedown of Umbrella with all the protagonist we have played as which would work Sheva please?🙏 but RE4 was made by Dev 1 and it clearly wasn’t made to end Umbrella and do a new story Capcom connected it to 7 and 8 with the mold and 3,2 with the Raccoon city Leon trauma and Luis being the man that made Nemesis. I’m excited for RE9

I have a gut feeling Leon and Jill are gonna be the protagonists. Both of them have been absent for a while, I hope Claire shows up too, but I can’t ignore how much more popular Leon and Jill are. Chris will be in it for sure, but I have doubts he’ll be the main character. He’s a little op, especially with how they portrayed him in Village.

@@DJPickee I was referring to the timeline, we haven’t seen Jill in a game since RE5 and Leon since RE6. We’re gonna get RE9 before a new remake, as RE9 has been in development for 5-6 years now. If we get Code Veronica remake or RE5 remake first, I’ll be shocked.
Those CG movies are canon to the games lore. So Leon has been present moreso than any other protagonist in the entire series.

Resident evil is no longer resident evil when they change from 3rd person shooter to 1st person shooter. And I don't like Jill's personality is so manly / aggressive in RE3 Remake.
@@CococokiefulWell Jill is like that in RE3 remake due to trauma. Normally when a person has a traumatic experience (in this case the mansion) they change, normally becoming more distant or rude. And no, she is not manly, she is just trying to survive. But can you blame her? I can see why she was mad at Carlos, he was literally working for Umbrella, but she didn't know that HE didn't know and eventually trusted him at the end of the game. We can see more of this behavior in RE: Death Island. Same is with Chris, he's also "rude" but it's because of the same reasons. But yet they both still care about saving lives and doing good.

I hope Leon, Claire, Jill, Chris, Ada, Hunk & Rebecca could all be playable characters for the main story! They also should be in 3rd person - not 1st, because I want to see the character I'm playing, not just their hands.

Even if the rumors of the abandoned town with Wendigos were fake, I kind of like that idea. Exploring a creepy town in the woods with crazy weather sounds awesome and a good way to push the next generation RE engine. I’m hoping for a trailer at least for RE9 by the middle of this year so we can see what it’s going to be like.
Idk, feel like it would almost just feel like RE4 but without the additional sections of the Castle/Island/etc, and with the RE4 Remake just coming out, I think it would feel even more the same, who knows though.
If the rumors are true, then that might just be the intro to the game. Literally every Resident Evil game doesn't take place in one setting, there are multiple different "zones" that are unique to each other like the island compared to castle in RE4, and even in RE1 with the mansion, courtyard/cabin, and the lab. It would be cool though if they made the creepy town/woods the central part of the game that you constantly have to walk through to backtrack to other parts and they add make you feel terrified and paranoid every time because youre constantly being stalked by a stalker enemy in the dark. Anyway, historically Capcom likes to release games early in the year a year after it's reveal, so if it comes out early next year, we should get an announcement trailer within the next 3 months

because village wasn't meant to be third person and re 4 remake is a third person by default.

I loved re village with the 3rd person. I bought the game because of this mode actually. Can’t stand 1st person. My ultimate dream would be a return of the fixed camera angles like Rebirth…

The main issue of RE Franchise is trying to go massive. Every time they've tried going big, they've left us a poor game. RE shines when they create tension from small things. I hope we can see Jill, Leon, Redfield sibs again, but in their own games.
@DisagereetoAgree No, not RE6. RE6 didn't have the main four as individually playable scenarios, they only had a few and paired up with newer characters. It was also about an enormous world rendering action campaign. If they do RE9 closer to RE2 remake but give each character their individual scenario it would be a great game. So we'd have this great RE game and they'd be doing something they've never done before. To me it would be a dream come true for RE. So I don't understand the negative comments and why people here would have any kind of problem with that whatsoever other than because people like to argue and be negative honestly.
I think it would be cool to see zombies being led by more ganado like enemies.
it would be awesome for them to include the side characters too, mainly for me i want sheva to come back. i feel like in 5 we barely got to learn about her so if she possibly comes back in 9 it would be great to learn more about her.

I like more third person because the cutscenes have more perspecitves than one, also I like to see the characters and theire emotions. And I think the first person was an ethan thing. It ends with him. His face wasnt important and his emotions also. So they didnt show it. But in Re2r, Re3r and Re4r I loved the acting of the main characters so...
I generally agree with 3rd person camera making more sense. However, if for some reason, they would go for 1st person, they could do a similar technique like the recent Modern Warfare games, where the camera seamlessly switches between 1st and 3rd person during cutscenes.
They’re likely making re5 remake as well which would be in third person. We need some balance lol
I always have this idea that Chris could bring back the S.T.A.R.S team under his leadership with new members also the OG members who still alive and have Leon and Claire too.

It’s been a while since Jill/Carlos have appeared in any of the newer games (besides the Remake of course), but I definitely think that introducing new characters is a sure fire way to keep the franchise alive (if done right). I mean, just look at all the positive reception RE8 got because of Lady D, Heisenberg, the Duke, etc. All new faces, all time great characters

@@RapidCrafter I also didn't like how in the re4 remake they watered down the verdugos by making them slower, they don't dodged bullets anymore and they don't over run you like in the original, they try to make it too realistic

Considering the focus on the BSAA, Chris and Jill are the two obvious character choices. What I'd love to see, however, is a multiple campaign fest the likes of RE6. More horror focused, of course...

I also agree that the game isn't going to release this year and that 2025 seems more likely. However, I do hope that we get a teaser trailer or official trailer this year because that would be very exciting
And if you're a VR gamer like me, it's gonna take another year, so 2026 or 2027. I didn't want to play Resident Evil 7, 8 and 4 until their VR version.

I'm not looking for another 1st person shootem up game, there thousands already. 3rd person is very unique, and focuses on the charector more than you being the charecter in 1st person.
To me it’s the opposite cus first person actually lets you see what the character is seeing through their eyes. Hell you could say the same about third person there are a ton of games with that perspective just like first person it’s just about how it’s handled
They better keep current model of Jill. Resident Evil 3 remake was a masterpiece in terms of character dynamics between Jill and Carlos. Jill hottest shes ever been by a longshot.

What they want to do, Capcom must continue what is going on in Resident Evil 8 Village and conclude the main saga in same time. Conclude the story of Chris and his long fighting against ABO and Jill too.
Miranda, the master of Umbrella's founder, was a very old threat in the shadow for these years, extincted by Ethan and Rose, so this narrative arc is over then they rest just the corruption of BSAA (it is during since Resident Evil 5 just afer the end of the story of Umbrella and the rivality between Chris and Wesker). Besides, the BSAA was create by Chris and Jill too, for destroy the ABO and save People, protect them. So, our two heroes since Resident Evil 1 will finish what they are start and this is make the connection with the ending of Village.
So, Capcom : make this great RE9 the best as possible, better than RE4 will be difficult but make a great RE Action Horror for the end of the carrier of Chris and Jill. 🎉

I know it’s probably not happening but I would love to see Hunk as the main character in at least one of these games because I think it has a lot of potential especially since we’ve never really had a silent protagonist in an re game

Ik capcom said that they were “ending the winters family saga” but they said it sounded a lot like ending them as main characters so rose could still be a side character (I’m delusional and desperate to have rosemary back)
I’m advocating for RE9 to be about all five legacy characters. Two campaigns, maybe Chris and Jill as one campaign and Leon and Claire for the other campaign. Rebecca could be involved with either campaign or have her own. You could mix up the characters together but you get the point. Anyway I’d love for it to be third person and also primarily have a woodland setting. It would be interesting for the legacy characters to travel through thick, dense woods and take some pit stops by some cabins nearby. You could have a small village or two and end the journey with a big mansion for nostalgic purposes. There could be a big BSAA lab underneath the mansion as well. I’m not sure what new creatures they could develop but I just hope they don’t deviate too much from Resident Evil’s identity.

Agreed with everything except the first person pov. There was a reason why they created a 3rd person dlc for Village so that argument about 7 being in 3rd person doesn’t make too much sense and if there was so much demand for a third person mode I don’t think a mod would have been made for 7 to be played in.
That's a weird argument because there usually at least one mod that changes the camera perspective, like there is first person mods for all the remakes and a fixed camera mod for re2 and 3
i think they should continue the trend of the gameplay loop being contained to sort of trilogies for the games. think, re1 2 and 3 all hand similar camera functions, characters and gameplay, 4, 5, and 6 all had more action oriented gameplay keeping a rounded cast of characters. my prediction is that this trend wont end just yet and 9 will be set with first person, a more horror styled gameplay, and a similar cast of characters. I do think chris will be in the game but saying hes gonna be the main character is a little far fetched. all this about capcom saying that the rose dlc is the end of the winters saga is a load of bologna. companies like to have players guessing so why not through in a little reverse psychology. and about jill being in the game, shes probably gonna have a reference or two but in no way be a main character. the most likely protagonist is gonna be mia, who started this story in the first place.

There's no way they're going to do a 1st person view if they're bringing back one of the classic RE characters. Being able to see them and recognize their design is a major part of what made their characters so iconic. Also, it helped Resident Evil feel very cinematic. RE should have never gone down the first person shooter route. It's nice that they tried out new things to see what stuck, and by the fact that the made the village DLC 3rd person again shows that they recognize that 1st person didn't stick.
The new resident evils should be in first person stop being stuck in 2005. First person makes it more scary yall are stuck in the past

I like first person as well. There’s something about that perspective that took RE to a new level for me. I feel so immersed in what’s going on in 7 and 8 and don’t get me wrong I love third person too 4 is one of my top 5 all time games but I’d still like to see maybe just 1 more first person RE game and I’d love that to be RE9.

First, to me resident evil 0-code Veronica are the ONLY mainline games in the series. “RE” 4-8 is not in any way resident evil. They are RE inspired horror games. Let’s be real:

“RE” 5- if the expendables and city of God with sick people had a child. It would be this game. Nit Resident Evil!

This series is doomed... After 7 and village, i have lost ALL FAITH for capcom making a great RE again. These first person games play like garbage and the stories were beyond stupid. As LONG time RE fan, i will be no longer playing these games if this is the style their going in indefinitely. This should of been its OWN IP. The fact they slapped the RE label on this and called it a day is extremely disappointing as a long time fan.

2:39 heard/Read this/me out. First and third person should be an option to people. Not force on people so either player can enjoy the game at they own Preference. And if anything they can make certain characters be lock in First person for extreme Jump scares characters like "example Residents evil 6 Leon and his female partner" and actions type stuff for the other characters "Jake and Sherry" that can be interesting to go on and more. First Residents evil game that allows you to pick which one you prefer and if anything they can track how many people Preference for First or third.

The direction the main games went sucks.
Yeah I think at this point these locations are played out: castles, rural villages, and industrial facilities. I liked the suburban / urban setting in The Last of Us and feel that would work well in an RE game, as it would provide both open areas to explore and claustrophobic interiors for the horror factor. Would be cool if you could meet numerous survivors and recruit one of them, with different endings based on who you side with.
I honestly think it is a bad move making resident evil 9 right now. I honestly think they should remake resident evil code Veronica x, resident evil outbreak, resident evil 5 and 6 then make resident evil 9. Yes keep it in development but they should remake the other titles to keep balance with the story. 😊

You see, I am one of those people that I do think resident evil well not resident evil anymore or doesn't feel like resident evil I think just bring back just for one game with just NORMAL zombies,dog,crows,spider,hunters, and of course array of puzzles,items boss fight around 6 and the good old item box the pass resident evil game does feel more like silent hill i think the devs have lost there way with resident evil it getting to silly just bring back how it should be even just 5/6 weapons it not a fps like cod it s a survival game.
How about Capcom make it to where you can play in 1st or 3rd person, just put a choice in the in-game settings. Would probably drive a larger amount of players. I myself waited to play 7 and Village cause 1st person makes me dizzy for some reason, so I really hope they make it to where you can choose.

Just put jill in the game. My problem with first person resident evil is I think it brings a different style of gameplay and I think that’s why the mercenaries mode is the way it is. I love resident evil FOR mercenaries almost exclusively. So I would prefer it be third person and have reacting limb damage like 4 5 and 6 had rather than the simple head shots in 7 and 8 which aren’t as exciting. Honestly I want them to try to make another resident evil mercenaries game but for next Gen and go crazy with the maps and character inclusions and add a few extra game modes like some similar to cod zombies and have an active leader board that change with seasons and new enemies and maps for updates if they feel like it

Yeah it's a little strange that the castle in RE8 felt smaller than the spencer mansion of RE1... In an upcoming game it would be cool to see a castle or mansion like setting that takes up the majority of the game, though it could be multiple locations with the same vibe. Like in RE7, the Baker estate was made up of multiple buildings but all with similar vibes.
I love RE8, but it got too actiony at times. RE9 should reel it back a bit. Do more House Beneviento Basement-type horror.

Second, RE7 looks terrible in third person (not scary) because it was intended to be played in first person so they ofc made the atmosphere around it.
And i don't agree that first person is better option.
I was really glad when DLC for village dropped and we were able to play whole game in 3rd person.
i love third person because i can actually see the character especially leon/etc being a badass and for me it just feels alot better and enjoyable to play the game. my complaint with first person is that it feels really bland and kinda boring not only do i not see the character but the gunplay/gameplay doesnt really feel that good in 1st pov. i feel like capcom should give us the option to play in 3rd or 1st pov.

3rd person just makes the characters and story feel more special. Too many companies have identity problems and try to be like other games only to end up losing what made them special in the first place. There's enough first person action shooters out there.

As far as enemies goes. I can see them going with aliens lol No one knows why those parasites in re4 exist. Like in that world, are we supposed to believe they were already there on that universe with no explanation? Aliens could serve as a plausible explanation. It’s either that or ghosts 🤷🏽

What if & hear me out, what if Resident EviI 9 does something different yet so simple, as change the camera repeatly for example. When the character is outside in any area okay, when they are outside the camera is in ( Third person ) but when the character/ player enters a building the camera goes straight into ( First Person ) bring that sense of claustrophobic and having the enemies pop up right in your face.
So you get the best of both worlds & it makes more interesting to see how the player reacts but how Capcom would implement it.
It be nice to see Leon and Jill or Claire in Re9 since they both haven’t been in a game since re5 Revelations 2, and re6 while Chris has been in re7 & 8.
Re7 appearance doesn’t count, it was only the ending cutscene and a short dlc, plus idk about you but that wasn’t Chris, look at that dudes face🤣

If it is first person, I feel like third will come as an option by default this time around. Like you said RE4 was a success, but even if it wasn’t Capcom made some solid improvements to the movement when enemies were close/swinging. Not to mention shadow of rose came with a third person option.

I'm definitely excited for the massive revaluation that Umbrella has for years been infiltrating the BSAA and are now in control, back at the top. I want to see Jill return as the main character, I can see that happening as Death Island was her movie and she's been demanded tenfold since she was reintroduced In Remake 3. Give us a new long haired Jill in RE9. Dont resume her Remake 3 look like in death island... Guys she was wearing the same outfit she was wearing in Raccoon. Keep the face model, but new hair and outfit please.
Resident evil is a third person game not cause of the gameplay but cause of the characters it lets us see their reactions and the injuries they endure.
Im gonna second that last dude and say the wendigo/goatman abandoned town rumors would have been a diamond of a game. All that talk about having to use context clues to determine if the lady ushering you in her home to hide from monsters could be one herself would be a chilling gameplay mechanic.
