    Today I replaced two boards in a fence panel, and I'm very pleased with the result. I would have posted before and after photos but can't.

    Nice work thanks for sharing, so useful to have it on video to refer to as well 👍😊 Our local fox has mullered two planks, bless his little white paws🙄🙄🤬. Although there's plants in the way, I think dad and I could tackle this. Even with treatment our planks had faded to a nice shade, so the new ones will stick out a bit until they age - at least they're behind a small conifer😊👍

    Thanks for the video. You recommend that pry bar as best way to remove without breaking or splitting the board? I cant get my nails out as too deep. Tried pulling board with rear of hammer and it started splitting

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  Рік тому +2

      Hi, i would recommend getting a thin crow bar/pry bar. You can get one from amazon relatively cheap amzn.to/3YDFR5G

    Thank you,great video. I've got some fence panels, although in okay condition. I just want to strengthen them. What would you advise? I was thinking of making pilot holes and screwing in some external woodscrews from the fence into the baton. I think the fence has severely weakened since Storm Eunice.

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  2 роки тому +1

      Hi thanks for your comment. The strength of the panel comes from the horizontal battens on the fence panel. You could add an extra batten to the fence panel then fix the boards to it with nails or screws. If you are using screws for the fence panel feather edge boards then a pilot hole and a small countersink will stop the boards splitting. Hope that helps? I have those fence panels at the back of my garden. And need to replace about 3 of those boards. Are they called shiplap panels?

    • @FixitwithFowler
      @FixitwithFowler  3 місяці тому +2

      These are feather edge boards, meaning one side is thinner than the other. Shiplap boards, actually fit together like a tongue and groove system.
